It's just a light, so it doesn't matter where you set it as it's the speed and smoothness of your shifts combined with your reaction times that makes for best progress. If you have slow reaction times and a long shift, then you're going to want to set it very early so that you have enough time to carry out the gear change before you hit the limiter. If you have a very fast reaction, then you'll want the opposite. You want to be shifting as close to the redline as possible. Where you feel you need to set the shift light is up to the individual, and no-one can give you that answer apart from you. Besides, revving engines is fun!

With your budget it'll definitely be the latter, although you may have to take a punt on used shocks as I doubt you'll get a new pair of rears for just £150. You'd be better served by putting new ones on by far, and something like the BC Racing or Torqen sets would get my money everyday over OEM. In in terms of pads, I'm not really sure what fitments are out there for non-Brembo, sorry.

050As are very good tyres. Really, when you changed the rears you should've changed the fronts to match, so you'll have a much better and neutral handling car now. The Avons and Fkakens you mentioned are suitable for shopping trolley cars, not sports ones. Well, you can get away with the ZZ5s on a Caterham due to the really low weight, but otherwise I wouldn't put them anywhere near a performance car.

Courts & councils like that type of person, makes their life easier. I do have one question though: How did you find time to email the courts and find a template, but no enough time to make a phonecall??!!

There will be contact numbers on the paperwork left by the bailiffs, so my first course of action would be to speak to them to tell them this is in dispute. Now, with court-auctioned ones they're not as likely to be as understanding as civil ones, however it may but you a couple of days at least. You can then speak to the court itself to go through the details, they're usually pretty helpful and will guide you in the right direction. No point speaking to the council until you've spoken to the above first.

Don't pay it in full, just contact the court and complete a Statutory Declaration. This will reset the process, and you just pay the original amount. However, expect to be grilled as to how you missed the following letters, as you would likely have received at least three others (second fine without discount, notice of court proceedings, and judgement). If you can prove you haven't been in the country to receive that post, then a StatDec is admissible.

The trouble with the FB 350Z forums (although not the official club one, I might add) is that they get can get taken over by someone who consistently spouts utter nonsense about the car, but does it in such a way with constant posting that people start to believe his garbage. We did have the dealer pay us the money direct via BACS to our account for the Mini we sold to them, but the guy was sat in our house and we confirmed it was in our account then promptly rang Mini finance and paid it off before he took the vehicle, so it can happen. Very rare though, as Alex correctly points out it's a big risk for them. I just have a very very trusting face
