  1. You may have no choice dependent on insurer, but do be aware that although many mainstream insurers will insure you with mods, they will not cover the cost of replacement should the worst happen. For example, Admiral group will let you put a nice set of wheels on, but if you find a wall jumping out at you one day then they'll only replace them with stock wheels. Unless you pay their extra premium of course... Always worth asking whether the value of the mods is insured, and it might be worth paying more to ensure they are.
  2. In fairness to Cosworth, you're not their customer. Your contract was with Extreme Automotive, so you should only have been speaking to them and pushed them for the resolution. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's a good think when companies ignore the end user, but ultimately they're not set up to deal with anyone bar their suppliers. Glad it's all sorted now though
  3. +millionty to the above. VED is peanuts in the grand scheme of things. It shouldn't factor in your decision at all.
  4. Nope, he needs the female plug that's attached to the wiring. I think.
  5. Technically under s5.4 of the current MOT Manual any airbag removal is a failure, however under para5 of the Introduction there is a caveat for extensively modified or converted vehicles i.e. rally cars or stretch limos. In this case, removal of an airbag is not a failure. However, you'd need to prove to the tester/DVSA that the car is indeed extensively modified for competition use. Modified road cars would not count. However, it's all down to the tester of course...

    New Nismo mk2

On new vehicles, as long as you are fitting like-for-like parts that are the equivalent of OEM quality then warranty is not affected. This is based under the same EU regs that cover you for using non-OEM parts & dealers for servicing. So an exhaust is fine, but if you need new wheel bearings one month after fitting spacers forget it (you won't, of course, just making an exaggerated example).
  7. As long as you tell them you've changed steering wheel, then you're covered. They really don't care if it's got an airbag or not: Why would they?

*and a manual gearbox. If you leave that thing as an auto, I shall have to disown you!
  14. Alonso could buy a Kia and still be more competitive for the rest of the year
  15. Ooooh never knew that! Still seems slower than flicking the wheel, but then that's probably as I'm used to my way. Good info though
  16. Well, you know the scroll wheel on the mouse? You kinda flick it with your finger rather than scroll gently, gets you to the top quicker. I mean there's probably a proper name for it, but that's as close as I could get last night
  17. Mousewheel flick on PC/Mac, tap the top of the screen on iOS, must be something similar on Android?
  18. I wonder how many of those cars will ever see 11000 on the rev counter?
  19. Anything other than the Quadrophenia will feel dull as ditchwater. It's a big saloon, not a sports car. If you want to pick the kids up from the school then it'll be perfect, but fun? Nope. All autoboxes too!
  20. Only the front motors rev that high. I'll be surprised if the petrol unit goes into five figures. It looks like the front of a 918, the rear of a P1, and a penis stuck on the roof. Makes the RB/AM thing look positively pretty.
  21. Good on you for sticking to your guns, and also good on your insurance company for correctly chasing it. Who are they?
