Given he wrote that book a full two years before the MPS4 came out, I'd suggest that's fairly impressive foresight.

Sounds like possible interference to me, try changing channel on the router as a starting point. May well not be, but it's an easy one to check and nothing to lose.

Bit unfair to expect the NSX to be as quick as cars costing ten times as much, so in that respect it’s a bit of a bargain. Still ugly and with the interior of a Civic, mind you. I’d love to drive the GT3 version with no hybrid nonsense, I bet that’s a riot.

Anyway, laptimes. Further apart than I expected tbh, Bedford West is a good comparison which is 1:26:10 for the R and 1:20:10 for the GT-R. The only caveat is that Tiff was in the Nissan and Prosser in the VW, and I think it's reasonable enough to say that the former isn't as quick a driver! Still, that's a bigger gap than I thought, I stand corrected.

I've not driven a Golf R, no. I have no desire to either, but at the same time I've already said I wouldn't take one over an R35. If you honestly believe your last sentence, then I really don't think this is the conversation for you. Doc already pointed out a ton of reasons why someone might pick an R over an R35. And given that we've already proved that an R35 is cheaper than a new R, saying that one is outside of the average Joe is ridiculous
-
I dunno, I think you might be surprised. Less weight, newer electronics, newer chassis... I bet there's not as much in it as you'd think. I'll go have a hunt for lap times.

I don't think I'd call a 1500kg 4WD hot hatch with 300-odd bhp (much less 400bhp with a £120 remap!) dreadfully dull. Hell, it still has the option of a manual 'box so that's one area where the R35 will never be able to compete. Plus new car, plus full warranty, plus decent interior, plus five proper seats, plus more boot space, plus it's a completely different image (for better or worse) etc. Now don't get me wrong, I'd take a GT-R over a Golf R too, but I can see plenty of reasons why many people wouldn't.

£15K? Ouch.

I wonder if they will go much lower, y'know. Excessive running costs doesn't always mean that prices go down to compensate, ultimately you can get to a point where if you can't afford to run one then it doesn't matter how cheap it is. If the next GT-R is indeed all hybridy and into six figures, then I think R35 prices could well firm up.

Fairy muff PMu pads and discs?
-
Hmm, that's a shame then, as that really spoils the look IMHO (which otherwise is fine). Would you look to weld the tips on instead?
-
You got baffled inserts in those exhaust tips?

Trouble is that it comes out a week or so after CoD, which means that much like the first one that no f*cker is going to be playing it and the servers will be as dead as a room full of young padawans after Anakin's paid them a visit. They really need to be moving the release date to another time if they want people to carry on playing it, even if that means sacrificing Xmas time profit.

Controls on a touchscreen is a sh*t idea full stop. Worst design idea ever, and I include that for every manufacturer that does it. Give me a button that I can grab and operate by feel alone so I can keep my eyes on the road, not a screen I've got to plough through menu after menu to get anywhere.

Even better it was 220 delivered out of 260 made, so nearly 20% being rectified Quality control may need some serious work more than anything else. Still, he’s off to Mars in a few years, so who cares?
-
Perhaps, but it's unlikely anyone choosing bigger wheels would want more arch gap
-
How so? Rolling radius is the same regardless of 17", 18" or 19" wheels assuming you stick to OEM tolerances. In the case of the OP, the car is already 10mm lower due to the chosen tyres.

How would you stop people parking on your drive?

So what did he do to stop it? -
Some pics might help here. And welcome

The MPSS does indeed have more rim protection on it than a Pirelli, so normal. However, please do not drive that car until you've changed the rear tyres so they match. I mean, you can drive at real low speed to the tyre place to get them changed, but don't carry on driving as usual: Having mixed tyres across an axle is seriously dangerous. And those P Zeroes are garbage, the MPSS is a MUCh better tyre all round.

Depends on what you're playing, and what you hope to get out of it. Purely from a power POV, I'm guessing that a 1070 (I run a 1080) can do High/Very High settings at 1080p at 60fps in most modern games. If you jump to 4K and keep those settings, I reckon you might only see 30fps which for me wouldn't be acceptable and misses the point of PC gaming really. To get the 60fps you'll prob have to drop down to Med settings, so things won't look as pretty in terms of effects. You will, of course, have more pixels so it'll look sharper. As games get more fancy, you'll likely be dropping that setting down even further to maintain 4K/60, which means that to keep things looking nice you'll need to upgrade your gfx card earlier than expected. 1440p is a good middle ground, so I'd say that's worth looking into. Personally I run 1080p/60 and keep everything on Ultra. I have no desire for more pixels as I'd rather see the fancy shadows, lighting and textures that the top option brings than more pixels right now. That's not to say I wouldn't like 4K but I'm not prepared to sacrifice framerate or prettyness right now, and nor am I interested in spending another £400 on SLi to stay where I am. I've looked at buying a new monitor in recent months, and if I was going to I'd be looking a G-SYNC monitor first and foremost. Sure, it's be 1080p still, but oh dear god is the refresh rates on those something to behold! For me they look much more visually impressive than anything in 4K. Sorry to throw another option onto the table I want quality over screen size these days.

You're going so far out of spec, profiles are irrelevant at this point. I also don't see any benefit in putting narrower tyres than stock on the front, unless you love understeer. 245 minimum, if you want the stretch then go for wider wheels and wide arches. Although tbh this isn't my 'scene' at all, so I'll let someone else give you the exacting details on what you're after.

That's because the suspension is utterly dire on the F80. Horrible, horrible cars. I wouldn't drive one again if you paid me, they remain the only road car I've ever driven that I felt like I had zero control over what was actually happening.

How many 370 Nismo MK1s were manufactured for the UK ?
Ekona replied to ZMANALEX's topic in 370z General
Def worth more than a standard one, but I can't see them ever being uber-collective.
