  1. Yes its 1&1 our hosts. Apparently they've been having problems all day with some kind of misconfiguration causing all their private hosted servers to go a bit dullaly! Nothing to with us for once
  2. If its pure water then its the air con
  3. To be fair being 4WD would make a great winter shed
  4. IMO if there was a few more laps left Button would have taken Vettel. Vettel is a great driver, but he doesnt seem to quite have the knack of getting up close and personal when battling. I think Button would have chosen a point to take him and exectuted it. Of course RB played this down saying Seb had it all in hand, but I'm not conviced he did. The RB car is quite obviously an amazing bit of kit and no one is faster in qualifying, but I think the MacLaren always seems to be very strong at the end of races.
  5. Hampshire is about the last of them to be cut over - we're not swapped over until May 2012 I think. We have a digital signal but they dont power it up to full strength and as such signal is poor atm. Using freesat to get around it though
  6. Wonder how much of the running gear is actually Juke? Bet its fun to drive
  7. Maplin do a few Torx screw bits if you need them in a hurry. Its where I got mine
  8. Dont leave out the technical bits they are the most fun Amanda didnt fancy Walna Scar though Looking good for us bringing the weather too, sunny but not too hot (that will of course have cursed it now!)
  9. One of the reasons he was banned - we couldnt understand him so didnt know if he was insulting people or not
  10. With respect the Nismo knob, remove it and see if there is a loose washer/spacer in there. IIRC the OEM has a spacer of some kind that you should remove when fitting the Nismo, but it does still fit which means quite often its left on by accident. This can cause a rattle, it did in mine
  11. Main thing is to run on the fuel you will normally use. As the map is fairly specific to your fuel, you need to run it as normal. Dont put super in if you dont normally use it and dont put 95RON in if you normally use super as it will make less power. Also make sure any mods are fitted - but it looks like you have that covered. Thats about it, Mark will check everything else before dynoing it, so the rest is covered.
  12. +1 Well the forums what you make it so get posting and make it better Always dies down after the summer, theres less meets and people dont get out as much. We see people quite clearly get cabin fever over the winter and it does tend to get quite bad sometimes. Always better when May comes around and its time to get the cars out and go for a blast around Wales According to Google Analytics the forums been getting busier month on month, every month for the past few years. We have a few aparent step changed (upwards) and apart from May in the run up to Wales when there is a very aparent spike in visitors, it stays pretty consistent on this trend.
  13. OK I'll take it. Need it for garage security duties and can also double up as some extra security for when we are away. No worries on it damaging the frames as I would only use it when stationary, the Thule rack we have does lock but its a bit erm basic, so would be good to have as extra piece of mind when away from home. Sent you a PM for the arrangements
  14. ESP which helps control a slide and point you forwards again is controlled by a linked system to the TCS, however you can turn TCS off and not ESP (unless you know the right fuse to disable both of them and the ABS). ESP will allow the car a certain amount of sideways movement before it kicks in. I beleive the ESP uses TCS to tell if the wheels are spinning and a yaw sensor and steering angle sensor to tell if you are sideways. So this will likely have been active, you just might not have known about it. I cant remember but I think ESP and TCS have different lights on the dash - albeit I think they are located together.
  15. Yes I had the same thing asking about the 40th Edition and my dealer was very annoyed with them as they wouldnt answer the question. It was only when we made contact with some of the chaps in marketing at NMGB that we got some answers. The problem asking them about SatNav is its very complicated compared to what they normally have to deal with so they dont have a clue
  16. That sounds exactly like whats wrong, i had new rears fitted a few weeks back and the fronts have about 3mm left. Also the cars been lowered, not sure if that would have an effect? Cant see why it would though.. To the guy who asked they are the normal road f1's. Looks like new front tires then, thanks This is most likely the cause. I think the TCS is designed to take into account some degree of tyre wear but obviously it will expect tyres to wear at a fairly even rate. With relatively smaller tyres on the front and larger on the rear to what the TCS expects, it will take a little longer for it to think the rears are spinning faster than the front (ie slipping) and kick in. Personally, I'd prefer it like that as the 350z TCS is quite violent when it kicks in and can unsettle the car more so just go with it. If when you get new fronts and all the tyres are bedded in it still does the same then we can look at other causes
  17. Have you had the tyres changed recently and/or are the fronts on the way out with the rears having more tread? Both can cause the TCS to think the rears are spinning slower than the fronts relatively which means the rears in real terms have to be spinning more before TCS will kick in.
  18. How long is the chain? Would it loop through 2 bikes and a towbar carrier do you think? I guesstimate it would need to be a smidge over 1m. Might take it off your hands to lock the bikes to the wall in the garage if not as it would be good to beef up our security.
  19. Oh dear I can see this going downhill quickly from here
  20. Some interesting cars there Jez, that Westfield will be something else on the track
  21. It's easy when there is a nearby school and you have a years supply of harribos and puppies in the boot lol If you're all loved up is now a good time to ask for a good price on a kettlebell? I've been meaning to give them a go for a while
  22. As I said in the other thread - the usual pricing down South is about £75 to check geometry and then 15-20 quid to correct anything other than minor tweaks. This is standard practice. I was quite supprised when Peter got it for £75 all in, I think they may have made a mistake, but once they quote they have to stick to it Also common practice for dealerships not to have the equipment to do a lot of the work - they will contract it out at trade prices and then add a bit for themselves, so can come in cheaper than going direct to the place. Havent heard of RSR in Slough Trading Estate though. I know Pro Tyre are there, they did a puncture repair for me and did a very good job. I know they have a lazer alignment machine and are Pirelli Performance Centre approved.
  23. Hmm, not often, I'm averaging 22 at the mo in all conditions Living down south I have to venture quite far to get to good roads. That involves a lot of motorway, which balances out the hooning when I get there. As an example, when I did the Hoon last I got an average of 31MPG over the whole 2k miles I covered. Anyone who has done the Hoon will attest to the fact that on the actual drive you dont hang about. I find the best way to get good MPG in the Zed is keeping momentum going. Stop/start and being on and off the throttle is what kills MPG. If you learn to keep a good speed through corners and keep momentum in traffic it makes a massive difference to MPG. Also keeping revs low in traffic helps. I tend to drive it like a DERV in traffic, no need to go over 3k RPM really. Save the fuel for the fun stuff
  24. I did a similar mod in mine as I was running an aftermarket HU. Just removed the cradle and unplugged it all. Free's up so much space in there. Just a reminder of how old the design of the Zed is now, tape deck and old school plug in phone holder. I think they were already outdated when the released it At least they are easily remedied and the engine, handling and looks are timeless
