Wise, and I suspect you are a young man who is growing up amongst cars that are designed to absorb impact with airbags as well as belts to protect us now. Whereas when I first started driving in the mid sixties they were still building cars that were more like battering rams/armoured vehicles and hence the idea of being thrown (jumping) out, if the car hitting you was more solid than yours, kinda appealed. Coupled with not by law having to wear seat belts (few cars had them) and no speed limits on many roads together with a whole lot less vehicles on the road anyway, a 'gung ho' approach prevailed. For me nowadays it is quite amazing how vehicle technology has moved on in the past 50+ years and I find myself attracted to cars with all sorts of gizmos. When I think back to my first car - a 1962 Mini with sliding windows, I was so proud I could afford to add a stick-on rear window demister that was about as useful as frosted glass, whereas I now have a car that includes things like race start capability, on-board computer, and over 10 times the power output that with AWD sticks the road like glue (unlike the crossply tyres on skinny wheels in the sixties), I feel very lucky to have experienced car development that has made driving not only more pleasuarble but a whole lot safer too.

Looking good Andy - and that sounded awesome on Ian's vid -
Wholly wrong that both fighters did not get an equal share of the purse, particularly when you read how they spend it......

OK I'll let you off Ian - I know all too well this project management malarky can be more stressful than anything with just one 'party' fecking up the schedule, so good to hear you have got someone else on board to help get it completed -

Very dramatic that intro, but what was more dramatic is I think I saw Wasso seemingly doing something other that drinking tea and playing on his moby Its coming on though - so how long to firing up? -

One person on here I am sure would sort it out is Sly @ Kaizer Motors near Rochester, Kent which I know is a long way from you, but as he is ex Nissan HPC award winning master technician and he has sorted out many members 350/370 problems, aside from doing routine stuff, that is where I would go. http://www.kaizermotor.co.uk/ Although it was 160 mile round trip for me I that was my choice for servicing and bits and pieces Give him a call

My findings are well documented but basically when using the 20mm spacer I added a 3mm slip spacer so the front wheels would bed squarely on the spacer. Unfortunately the 3mm alloy slip spacers I used from Halfords were not up to the job and over a period of time they distorted leading to the discs getting distorted. So I changed to 25mm and no issues with them. Yes you can change the hub studs I guess but as I had my car during warranty I made a point of removing the spacers whenever the car went into the dealer and the fag of changing the studs as well (so as to give adequate length for the nuts to grip without spacers) was a non-starter for me.

A very long time ago when I was a teenager the boss of the garage I was working at part-time had a head on in his soft top E-type with a Daimler Dart, combined speed in excess of 3 figures and when seat belts were not compulsory. The driver of the DD died instantly as the E-type was much more solid....... They found my boss some distance from the impact who was thrown out, unbelievably through the windscreen, with his face mangled and various limbs and ribs broken alive, and having been taken to hospital they thought he had lost his lower jaw but in surgery found it had been pushed down in his neck. He made a recovery, but had quite severe disfigurement for the rest of his life but had he had been wearing a seat belt he would have also been dead. Oh, and although he was prosecuted for the death of the DD driver by dangerous driving it was proven that in fact the DD driver had suddenly pulled out to overtake two cars abreast on what was then a wide stretch of straight road. That accident was one of many on that road that shortly after was made a dual carriageway. For a long time that discouraged me from wearing seat belts before they became obligatory, but and as we have seen in historic car racing being thrown out of open cars (at least) can be a life saver. Not advocating that now, but........

Good luck -nice BM and top quality post for a swap

That 'amusement' factor was not the reason he was banned at all. But no more on the WW subject on this thread please otherwise the next poster might be going the same way

Post about alternative product removed.

Word of warning about the Halfords 3mm shims, which I used (+20mm eibachs) on the 370 and due to the soft alloy they distorted and led to the front discs getting distorted buggering up smooth braking.

Hello All 370GT Soon to be owner
Ebized replied to OptimalKiller's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
Welcome to 370 ownership Seeing you are in Kent, I can recommend Nissan Motorline at Tunbridge Wells for aftercare. They are a HPC centre and I found their knowledge, advice and service very satisfactory during the 3 years warranty of my 370z. One of the first things I changed was the exhaust to a Stillen cat-back system after less than a month's ownership. Now if anything went wrong with that system clearly Nissan would not cover it under warranty and yes if it were discovered it had caused other failures on the car then those failures might not be covered. But let's get real here, The aftermarket stainless steel exhausts are a better long-term prospect than the OEM exhaust and in the near-on 5 years I had the car there was absolutely no issues with it. Motorline did not have any issue with it's fitment and indeed when the gearbox was changed just before waranty expiry (more as a precaution due to an abnormal whine rather than any major issue) the exhaust had to be partly removed and that attracted no 'penalty'. Road noise in the 370 I found a little more intrusive than on the previous 350's - but I put that down to the absence of a vertical divider with the main boot space due as there is no visible strut within which to fix the divider. But in all honesty tyre make can be more of an issue and as you will have experienced with your previous cars, varying road surfaces affect different tyres. Whenever the weather allowed I would lower the window to enjoy the V6 and exhaust and for me that drowned out any road noise concern Enjoy the car -
Your pic is very blurry - but what area are you suggesting is missing as from what I can see all looks OK

The forum rules are quite clear: http://www.350z-uk.c...69-forum-rules/ There is no need to air our dirty washing on a public forum, and those familiar with the forum they will know that only the team and the individual concerned will be aware about how many 'strikes' (warnings) they have been issued and those can go back over several years. From my time as a moderator on here, I know most warnings/bans are only issued as last resorts and in many cases we try to avoid those by having a word with the member or pming them about their behaviour. Then are there the spammers/abusers, running into many hundreds, that most on the forum will not be aware of but where the report system allows you guys to help us stop those timewasters that get through when we are not around to deal with them immediately. There are times the team will not be at one about a member's fate. But like a jury, if the view is not unamimous a majority view will suffice. When a member has made a significant contribution to the forum, perhaps over several years, it is disappointing when their actions degenerate to the point the Rules have clearly been broken, and certainly not for the first time. Sadly that was the case with Whacky Will. I hope that may draw a line under the demise of WW from the forum and apologies to the OP that his thread, like another one before it, that got used to question an unrelated issue about the management of the forum. If anyone feels the need to question the forum rules then raise it as a new thread and not on as an aside to an issue the OP was asking.

Help please, annoying beeping when close drivers door
Ebized replied to chrislich's topic in 370z General
I'm running out of ideas, the only things I can suggest is you change the batteries and if you are carrying both keys at the same time, leave one indoors and try each on their own. If the problem persists it might mean a visit to a Nissan Dealer for a software check
