    Will it Rub?

Word of warning about the Halfords 3mm shims, which I used (+20mm eibachs) on the 370 and due to the soft alloy they distorted and led to the front discs getting distorted buggering up smooth braking.
  2. Welcome to 370 ownership Seeing you are in Kent, I can recommend Nissan Motorline at Tunbridge Wells for aftercare. They are a HPC centre and I found their knowledge, advice and service very satisfactory during the 3 years warranty of my 370z. One of the first things I changed was the exhaust to a Stillen cat-back system after less than a month's ownership. Now if anything went wrong with that system clearly Nissan would not cover it under warranty and yes if it were discovered it had caused other failures on the car then those failures might not be covered. But let's get real here, The aftermarket stainless steel exhausts are a better long-term prospect than the OEM exhaust and in the near-on 5 years I had the car there was absolutely no issues with it. Motorline did not have any issue with it's fitment and indeed when the gearbox was changed just before waranty expiry (more as a precaution due to an abnormal whine rather than any major issue) the exhaust had to be partly removed and that attracted no 'penalty'. Road noise in the 370 I found a little more intrusive than on the previous 350's - but I put that down to the absence of a vertical divider with the main boot space due as there is no visible strut within which to fix the divider. But in all honesty tyre make can be more of an issue and as you will have experienced with your previous cars, varying road surfaces affect different tyres. Whenever the weather allowed I would lower the window to enjoy the V6 and exhaust and for me that drowned out any road noise concern Enjoy the car
  3. Your pic is very blurry - but what area are you suggesting is missing as from what I can see all looks OK
  4. The forum rules are quite clear: http://www.350z-uk.c...69-forum-rules/ There is no need to air our dirty washing on a public forum, and those familiar with the forum they will know that only the team and the individual concerned will be aware about how many 'strikes' (warnings) they have been issued and those can go back over several years. From my time as a moderator on here, I know most warnings/bans are only issued as last resorts and in many cases we try to avoid those by having a word with the member or pming them about their behaviour. Then are there the spammers/abusers, running into many hundreds, that most on the forum will not be aware of but where the report system allows you guys to help us stop those timewasters that get through when we are not around to deal with them immediately. There are times the team will not be at one about a member's fate. But like a jury, if the view is not unamimous a majority view will suffice. When a member has made a significant contribution to the forum, perhaps over several years, it is disappointing when their actions degenerate to the point the Rules have clearly been broken, and certainly not for the first time. Sadly that was the case with Whacky Will. I hope that may draw a line under the demise of WW from the forum and apologies to the OP that his thread, like another one before it, that got used to question an unrelated issue about the management of the forum. If anyone feels the need to question the forum rules then raise it as a new thread and not on as an aside to an issue the OP was asking.
  5. Good news no one was hurt. Seems to me you ought to get together with newkid and make one good ZED out of your accidents and make what you can on selling good bits that are not used http://www.350z-uk.c...side-swiped-me/
  6. One thing I would say is that the vid shows, if you value your car, the track days to avoid - just seems some were intent on trying to wreck their cars and not worried about who they might take out in the process.
  7. Little telly for a little fella then............... Mind you, trying to convince my other half she needs 50"+ for our mutual enjoyment got this reaction:
  8. I'm running out of ideas, the only things I can suggest is you change the batteries and if you are carrying both keys at the same time, leave one indoors and try each on their own. If the problem persists it might mean a visit to a Nissan Dealer for a software check
  9. See if the advice at around 1.30 in this vid helps you: http://youtu.be/XCE2z9yzIJk Bear in mind this is US spec so some of the functions mentioned elsewhere do not apply to UK 370's, but what I have suggested you might see if it stops the annoying noise for you.
  10. Look at the blades: They're the V8 ones. It needed the bigger blades for the bigger intake/cooling requirements for the engine. The exhaust tips can be changed, but no way you'd put the smaller blades on. /R8 geek Having checked the specs (not being an R8 geek ) the exhuast on the silver wrapped one is a bit of a giveawy that it is a V8 as they are hardly likely to have changed the V10 tips, as on the adjacent car, to V8 tips
  11. I'll ask, as you have not mentioned it, you sure the spare key is not in the car somewhere?
  12. Nice drive and cool down lap - and can't blame you for staying clear of that Escort
  13. Pm R35LEE - he's not far from you and I'm sure could help you with a fix, and if any more parts are necessary. Here is some good advice on another thread by a post from samniss350z: Posted 16 April 2015 - 07:33 If you remove the window motor and strip it down you will find that the inside will be covered in gunk and crap. Give it a good clean with a toothbrush (the wife's will do) and solvent and then remove the brushes. Chances are that these will be worn down to the nub end . Maplins do a brushes that are virtually a direct replacement (a little mat/l needs to be removed). Replace, refit and all should be well. My motor has lasted 2 years so far. This is the only fix that has worked long term for me. I can't recall the Maplin part No; but will try to dig it out if you require. This fix cost about £8 as opposed to the £130 plus you'll pay for a new motor. I initially just cleaned out the motor but within a couple of months it started to fail again. Good Luck.

    Porsche Cayman

My sis in Oz has one of those - great engine under the bonnet but getting in and out the back with the scissor doors was not made for my 6'2" frame and when you are in there, oh the backache. But at least in the back you were not easily seen..............
  15. Sad news about your ZED, good news about you and the one to be, positive news about a replacement ZED - ought to be a white one!
  16. Might be your joke but that hardly sends the right signals to the all the female ZED owners we have on the forum. An appropriate smilie, especially for a newbie, might have least conveyed to all on here it was said in jest.
  17. You know the rules; pictures or it didn't happen! Looking like he is heading for with all this teasing
  18. Here you go: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/22880-guide-for-new-memberspotential-buyers/ Good luck
  19. This is what I thought was a splitter - on andyjames car: As I agree with you Steve - Darren's example and even the one Adrian (octet) posted is what I would term a chin spoiler
  20. Looking forward to seeing the updates in the flesh on Saturday, nuts 'n-all.
  21. I guess once you have have added the FI you will need something to keep it grounded! But have to say that the rear louvres are a no-no for me, and without FI do you really need the spoiler/splitter?
