Law on mobile phones: Driving a car Even if your car is off the road and is not moving, you may be considered to be driving if your engine is on. Therefore, if you stop your car to use your phone, it would be wise to turn your engine off first. Likewise, the police will still consider you to be driving if you are stuck in a traffic jam, so in this situation you should not alleviate your boredom by using your phone, unless you are using a hands-free set. Bear in mind that each case is judged on its own merits, so there is no fixed definition. The best thing you can do is be aware of these guidelines before picking up your phone. ( https://www.lawonthe...l/mobile-phones ) But its OK to have a bowl of cereal in your hands but not a mobile phone? Come on - get real you guys, you are getting fixated with the cyclist actions that, agreed was uncalled for and he was unlikely to do that if a burly guy was in the car, but the woman clearly had no regard for other road users. .

About to buy a 350z, its silver but is listed as grey. Normal?
Ebized replied to 350zTJS's topic in 350Z General
Could be universal silver or twilight grey: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/71866-350z-paint-colour-code-guide/ -
Welcome to the forum Couple of observations - good news your local BMW dealer has looked after you well, but let's face it a 318 (and other models in the range) are bread & butter stuff for the dealers. 350 ZEDs are at best 6 years old now and for most dealers have always been a pretty rare sight in Nissan garages and most of the workshop staff will be unfamiliar with them and the 370 falls in the same bracket with most being sold through the few High Performance Centres in the UK and not in nearly the same numbers as the 350s. Hence why you find most members on here will direct you to speacialists - not all may be top notch but in comparison to main dealers knowledge they are in a different league. Doesn't matter what car it is - one that has only been driven for short distances is more likely to have longevity issues than those pounding up and down motorways. As others have said, good service history is a must and if it comes with petrol receipts to show 98+ octane has been used - all the better. Everyone has their own idea what "ragging" is, but even if it has been used on track providing due respect is shown to the mechanicals and notwithstanding the speeds reached, that is likely to be a whole lot better for the car than an owner who frequently indulges in traffic light grand prix and is an animal with their gear changes. Quite often we see local members offering to inspect potential purchases for 'newbies' (I have done that myself several times) which can help to reassure, particularly if you do not know someone who knows about ZEDs. You can always put up an ask on here if one is tempting you

The Police can't be everywhere though so some times it is down to us, the public to spot & report things. I get what you're saying and really he could have filmed her/reported her without confronting her but obviously that's his prerogative. Agreed, and Rob - how would you feel if she was doing that while following you? I really hope she gets done for dangerous driving.

Only fair you spend on detailing your car what your misses spends on glamming herself, and I find the occasional new handbag to my misses for the odd little overspend on the car always has the desired effect Oh, and if you post up your location I'm sure someone on here will be able to recommend a detailer not far from you

When you want the job.....at your price....you don't jump and down with glee at the prospect so that you don't get offered the millions you want. But jury is out in my book as to whether he makes or breaks the show.

Your three words in the penultimate paragraph summed up car insurance companies quite well. When I think of the thousands I have paid over 50 years of driving and only ever made two windscreen claims I reckon they are on such a good earner they can just say whatever they want BTW, that's no reflection on brokers who, in the main, at least know more about cars and try to get our business .

Just hope the 'show' reverts to being more about the cars than the presenters.

Used car trade does not often get much praise, so good to hear your dealer has gone the extra mile to make sure you are happy with your purchase - so credit to him and hope you can now now fully enjoy your new ride
-
What a steal! And a lovely location (somewhere that is on my to visit list) to enjoy it too!

Sadly, not the challenge it used to be, they paved it right up to the summit in 2011. Pete Damn

Can't see how the heater would 'leak' to the rear of the seat area and anyway you would see coolant and rad water level drop. Maybe a hole of some description allowing water in from underneath or from a real hatch or door seal? Can't think it would be anything else.

Can you borrow a set of standard (OEM) 350 rims/tyres that cause no issues on another owners car to see if that makes any difference? At least it will rule out what is usually the most common issue. BTW, I do hope you mean Falken tyres as those you have noted are not what you want on a car that is trying to fall off the road

Why not post a suitable 'wanted' thread here (quotes no doubt to you by pm) to see who can offer the best deal for you?: http://www.350z-uk.c...sional-traders/

Go for A - if they think you are the one they want it might well up their offer to secure your services

Brodit fitted in my second 350 - phone cradle is screwed onto the backing plate (in my case with a charging wire) : Ignore the curly wire - that was for the Snooper on the dash.

Darren-B's 1971 240z Project Pumpkin Major UPDATE P48
Ebized replied to Darren-B's topic in Other Cars
I will empty my colostomy bag before thee drive -
Seriously you guys, having had the juddering issue on the 370,Tophooker sorted it out perfectly and quite happy to make the 180 mile odd return trip for that work to be done. Honestly, if you want it fixed once and for all just make the time to get to Marcus - make a day of it or even stay overnight somewhere to get it done - you will not regret it.

Darren-B's 1971 240z Project Pumpkin Major UPDATE P48

Seeing the worms eye views,as well as what everyone else sees, confirms the quality and attention to detail of your hard work and the car is a real credit to you. And knowing you 'use' your cars whenever the opportunity arises it will be good to see it out and about at meets/drives and hopefully I will get to have a wee little ride -
sort of new, sort of not!

Hi again -
Black low and wide 350z with 4 wheels in boot.
Ebized replied to leonk's topic in Spotted or Flyered
Do I count a total of 12 wheels/tyres, or you got more tucked under those at the back? -
Never heard of that one before, so kudos to you for sorting it yourself

If you don't report him the chances are he will do something stupid like that again and the next person may not be so lucky...........and if you are worried about how other workmates might react just remind them that next person might be them.
