Wild guess, but guessing you are rarely going forwards........if you get my drift (sorry again!) and your speed is quite limited, could it just be that there is not enough air going through the fans/rad? You say it happens where you practice - do you have the same issue at drift venues, in case that shows up anything different?

Welcome to the dark (silver?) side Must admit, I wish I could have kept the 370 but doing so little mileage these days I would have two garage queens

At those prices it really is a no brainer not to use them and the 19" MPSS are now about half the price I paid back in 2013. I will be changing to MPSS on the AMG from the current Continentals when needed but then the current grip with the AWD is in a different league altogether - no more waiting for the roundabout exit before flooring it . But then I also miss balancing the power with the grip in those situations, when the roads were dry .

I'm old enough to remember when decorators were bemoaning the removal of lead-based paints. That said, everything in me had wanted to use the oil based paints and I agree it feels better when applying, but not being pro and working at my own speed and stopping for social days off (as well as not being paid ), meant I was spending more time the frequent clean ups, especially the rollers. Can't say I'm exactly over the moon with the smell either.......and having just taken a break from using the solvent primer in the ute room

£66 sounds fair but have you not got recovery that that covers home home start and will take you to your garage of choice?

All the ceilings/covings were painted white but first off I found they and the walls dryed so that it looked patchy, added more coats and still patchy . Pro advice was to use a plaster sealer which is off-white but it provides an excellent base and in walk-in cupboards for example one coat of white emulsion was fine. But being the perfectionist (as my wife says....but she wears glasses), I do two coats on both the walls and ceilings and sometimes I see imperfections that need some skim plaster during those applications and hence another coat. We are using neutral type colours that is making a huge difference to the 'lightness' within the house that we wanted and the off-white sealer helps to give a uniform finish given some walls had been painted in some awful brighter/darker colours The undercoat I have come to use on the woodwork having found that the new skirtings that come primered, did not like the satinwood and I was puttng on up to 4 coats. Also the original off-white woodwork seems to have been done with a 6" brush fully laden so runs and bumps like no tomorrow. So a lot of rubbing down in places and have found the undercoat is very easy to apply and no issue with two satinwood coats now - huge time (and patience) saving!

Gradually been working through the whole house (4 beds etc) and after some trial and error come to learn as a DIYer that: 1) having some decent power tools for stuff like replacement skirtings is an absolute must - mostly Makita when offers have been on. 2) For getting it done with the least hassle I use the water based paints for ease of cleaning on the previously painted woodwork. After several makes/combinations tried at the early stages I have found the Dulux quick dry undercoat before 2 coats of the Dulux quick dry brilliant white satinwood (we don't like gloss) gives a great finish and using decent rollers & brushes - such as Purdy is giving me the best results. I'm hoping the 'yellowing' with age that has been associated with solvent based paints will be avoided. 3) having found the walls/ceilings have never been properly sealed, including the first floor loft conversion done some 12 years ago, I use Albany solvent wall sealer and just throw away the cheaper brushes/rollers used rather than cleaning up. 4) tended to use Albany emulsions on the walls and whatever white emulsion in large tubs is available at discounted prices for the ceilings and cupboards. 5) a few tubs of Tou Pret for filling holes that I find works far better and easy to rubdown than any of the popular fillers 6) to get the walls as smooth as I can, a couple of large tubs of skim plaster have come in very handy. 7) and one hand tool that has been an absolute godsend is the Purdy 6 in 1 combination - so many uses http://www.screwfix....tion-tool/67975 I have found when I go on the tinternet pro sites for tips there is rarely a consensus so I go with what suits me best. Oh, the joys of retirement

How much oil did you add - a litre, two.... ? Did you check the oil level when the engine was cold and were able to see clearly the level before you added more and what was it showing? I ask that as the DE engine dipstick is notoriously difficult to read and even more so if the engine has not stood idle for a good while. I'm pasting the info I read below when googling overfilling an engine with oil as to what can potentially happen as the white 'smoke' you are seeing under the hood is a litle worrying, unless as said above either the oil filler cap was not put back correctly or the oil has leaked from the dipstick hole - not uncommon but then you would see oil around both those orifices and from your video it looks, from the volume leaking at tickover, to be something more that those two sources and lower down the engine . When you take the oil filler cap off is there any greyish matter showing? What I googled: " This sounds like a blown head gasket. If the white smoke you are describing appears to have a steam like apperance and smells like coolant then you definitely have a cooked head gasket. If the smoke is thick and blue then it is oil burning. To answer your query, it is never good to overfill engine oil because your cars engine builds oil pressure as it's running if you overfill the oil then you may cause your cars engine to build up more pressure then it can handle and this will cause problems like blown valve cover seals or....head gaskets. Unfortunately it looks as though you may have caused your car to blow a head gasket by overfilling the engine oil. " I really hope it is not that and it just a oil filter gasket leaking, but it does seem highly unlikely something unconnected with you topping up the engine has suddenly manifested itself.

So I thought I would pop along to Goodwood again this weekend for the Thoroughbred show (pre 1966 cars and bikes) and decided to take the long route (as you do ) and look who came along in Petworth Yes, Darren-B with his friend Rob. So we carried on to Goodwood to find the world and his wife seemed to be there as well. Very, very busy but got a few shots and I have to admit to be distracted by some post 1966 cars so not many pics this time but here you go This Bentley was absoloutly pristine and like many of the cars on display including that Lagonda alongside Jaw dropping D type..... Original rally Lotus Cortina.....and poser This Dino was in new condition.......in fact probably better condition that when it left the factory - anyone know when that would be? Hmmmmmm And its bigger brother, in the specials and bikes (didn't see many pre 1966 of those) car park, where Darren got in but dodgy old AMG hatchbacks were not allowed and this reminds me to do another thread:

Andy James 2015 sprint/hill climb/track day season
Ebized replied to andy james's topic in Motorsport & Track Days
Great day out yesterday with Andy at Goodwood at Brighton & Hove Motor Clubs Sprint meeting, so some pics and a compliation vid for you. First went down to the chicane to watch the practice runs 'Our' Andy And Andy was against Joe Eagle in his GTR (oh, and he also has a Nismo GTR and a Lambo Aventador in his stable....) Don't want to be any closer to those tyres The 'lap' started at the pit lane exit and was completed just after the chicane before turning into the paddock so not quite a full lap. A little frustrating for Andy (and no doubt others) as it meant no chance to warm up tyres before the first corner so had to be a bit tippy-toe. And with 5 cars let out one behind the other nd no overtaking it lead to some baulking, as Andy found out to his cost when one or more in front had a, er, wobbly moment. This Radical was immensely quick off the line and sounded glorious Not in Andy's class, but come across this exx Nissan RJN and lightened left hooker I have seen before at Slverstone driven by Jim Bridges. I gather he has a Stillen supercharger install being done later this year so that will be very quick then. Spot Andy;s 350 in the background cooling down. Very entertaining but the engine needed fettling after this run and they were still at it when I left Two hot Nissans! Always have a soft spot for the GT40's even though I don't fit in them Lining up for the timed runs Another casualty that had to pull out from his final timed run Thought I better some Porsche pics And pics with sound! Suggest you use full screen Oh, and a little teaser of something else at Goodwood (for another thread) -
Good info there - pinned this given more and more owners will be in a similar position sooner or later
