  1. It's not AWD either. Only the latest generation (2016 onward) is all wheel drive. The 2010 RS is front wheel drive, as is every other roadgoing Focus up until 2016's RS. And that is why it will lose against a stock Z, let alone one with 100 more HP. Every. Single. Time. (all else being equal) A supercharged Z will absolutely RAPE a 2010 stock RS, it won't even be a contest. 35% more power, better drivetrain layout (FR), wider tyres, less squat, longer gears, forget it...! If the Z happens to be wearing sticky 275s+ on the back, that would make it even less of a contest. Since we're on the subject, a 2016 RS (350hp AWD) would beat a stock Z fairly easily, and would probably give the supercharged one a good race (but I'd still expect a 400hp Z to beat a 350hp awd hatch, mainly due to drivetrain losses around 25% for the AWD). It would pull off the line first but the SC Z would reel it in pretty quick I reckon.
  2. While it's on my mind, it might shock you to learn that it seems that a large percentage of recent 370Z buyers have found that the transport spring spacers are still in place, making hte car feel most strange at speed. Worth a check for them...
  3. Seems like one of the discs has a manufacturing defect, I bet that's what it is. Are you sure the one disc has this thickness difference and the other not? If so, then I'd say you've probably found your culprit.
  4. aFe power is a very good and well represented maker of aftermarket parts in Cali, they have an excellent reputation in US BMW circles. I have no reason to believe that the part you've linked is not genuine, as it is also available through aFe themselves and looks identical ( http://afepower.com/afe-power-48-36104-yc-twisted-steel-y-pipe-street-series ). I don't know if I would pay that much money including customs for the aFe part though. Our glorious vendors have various options that would provide the same real world benefits. Was there a specific reason for looking at this integrated part? Anyway, yeh, aFe is quality stuff, if you like it, get it.
  5. What do you reckon it costs to just drive up to the gate at spa, do a few laps and go home? I'm so seriously considering doing some Italian ones as well on the way to the 'ring, since it's an overland drive for me all the way.
  6. Grand Theft Auto 5 plus mods, plus online = neverending fun.
  7. You can entertain yourself with some hilarious hitman gameplay videos on youtube until then. Gives you some ideas for very funny stuff to do.
  8. While browsing the wheel fitment thread on an unrelated quest today, I couldn't help but notice how similar this wheel is to the JR25s in case anyone wanted 'some' idea what they would look like on the car, of course the JR wheels will probably have a bit more concave... Original photos by member ConnorW06 And the specs that ConnorW06 provided for reference... Wheel Size: 19 x 8.5 Fronts 19 x 10 Rears Offset (front & rear): +25 Front +25 Rear Tyre Size: Michelin Pilot Super Sports 245/35/19 Fronts Michelin Pilot Super Sports 275/35/19 Rears Lowered: Stock Height Spacer sized if used: No Spacers Required Arch work if necessary: None Required Rear Camber: Stock
  9. I might have a go over the weekend, I'd need to redo an overclock or two. I'd cane you on graphics and disk speed, but your cpu is better than mine. Decent system, with a 1070 or 1080 GTX in there you'll be very happy By the way, I'm selling a 970 GTX cheap.
  10. Your wife knows which are rotaries? She got a sister?
  11. Worth keeping just for PES 2017 and Street Fighter.
  12. I have a serious gaming rig and have owned every major console since the Nintendo Gaming System, the Xbone is the first major console I did not buy since then, but I have a PS4. I only play sports, fighting and arcade driving games on the consoles, everything else that is available on both, is superior on the PC, as well it should be given the cost of investment. As someone who is already used to using a serious control method, using a joypad for all your games from now on will be just too much of a compromise, it would be for me. Grand Theft Auto for instance, is just a different game with a mouse and keyboard for on foot stuff and a joypad for driving, seamlessly switching between. You should have ordered the card. But you should own a PS4 too, pro evo 2017 is MAJESTIC on PS4, seriously.
  13. They definitely make them in both orientations, my boxes have an option sticker LHD. Torqen also has them, he's a UK seller, so I'd assume he has RHD units... https://www.torqen.uk/nissan/350z/body-styling/lights/1927-350z-depo-blacked-out-bi-xenon-projector-headlight-set-315-1162pxush2.html
  14. No doubt you're right, I would love it if there was some way I could convey the epic slipperiness of the greek 'asphalt', it's like polished glass, these tyres really work well on it, really progressive and easy, I drift on my daily commute, unavoidable, it's that or the tcs pees me off, so I choose the more fun option. I might do a vid one day. P.S. I should also point out, there's nothing mediocre about the grip of the Bravuris, they're very strong on good tarmac, if a little squidgy. I like them cos they're cheap and offer a very good road experience in this particular car for my particular needs and driving style, and that's kind of my point, cheap tyres are fine if you know what you're buying, I love the low noise as well as fun characteristics, I would not swap for MPSS for free. But the kind of people who are able to choose a tyre based on its characteristics, their local road characteristics and desired handling characteristics, aren't in need of tyre buying advice anyway. I do recommend the Barum, I have no doubt they'd have EPIC grip on British roads, but they wouldn't last long on your grippy tarmac, whereas wear over here is very acceptable! Reviews in other european countries seem to concur. Kind of ironic, since the 3HM in the name means 'high mileage' and they just aren't, they're very grippy though, rumour has it that rubber is Conti sportcontact5 formula, but who knows. It definitely is Conti rubber though.
  15. I don't know about going backwards into a hedge, as you say, that's down to the driver with any tyre, but I can tell you that the initial sizes were wrong and would have caused traction control issues, which she said she relies upon, so I absolutely recommend and support the decision to change those wrong rears for no other reason than to bring the dimensions closer to what Nissan's computer is expecting. Regarding premium tyres, I can only say that 95% of people here in Greece are running 10 year old super budget nexen, sunshine, happy camper tyres, 150 quid for the 4, and our roads have about 30 per cent the grip that English roads have, and nobody is flying off into hedges. I had MPSS on my BMW, before that I had budget Barum Bravuris on my Type R and now I once again have Barum Bravuris on my Zed, for me they are the perfect combination of mediocre dry grip (I like to be able to flick the back out) on the shiny Greek roads and low road noise (they are super dodgy in the wet, but then so were the MPSS). Given the quality (of the asphalt/tarmac, potholes notwithstanding) of english road construction, I cannot imagine anyone in the UK going backwards into a hedge after buying ANY high street tyre, even the very very cheapest, unless they allow them to wear out or get damaged in some way.
  16. I think unless you already own a 911, you're not a true car enthusiast if your first '50 grand car' isn't a decent 2nd hand one. (tongue in cheek, personal opinion) I'd like a GTR one day, but I'd like to drive a more raw purist car before sampling the computer enhanced goodness of a GTR.
  17. It's easy to check, if you have an 8 pin headlight connector, you're good to go. Based on Kyle's useful info above, if your car is UK, they will be plug and play, you shjouldn't even need to check the connector.
  18. This part is wrong, bi-xenons are factory facelift headlights, if he had those, he wouldn't have to upgrade Also, cars with prefacelift lights which are xenons, have an 8 pin connector, so that means ALL UK cars have 8 pin connectors. The only cars that may have 6 pin connectors are those from the USDM and JDM, I expect all EUDM cars to have xenons too, but I can't confirm that. So yes, facelift headlights are completely plug and play in all UK cars Thanks very much for the clarification. So all UK cars had the 8 pin! So as far as right hookers are concerned, only JDM halogen hi-beam will be 6 pin, right? We have euro cars here which are halogen hi (and 6 pin), so it must be a uk thing.
  19. Oh, in that case, sorry and thanks for the clarification! Coming back after easter and must have not read all the posts in the meantime, my bad!! P.S. And I agree! The way I describe it is that all tyres will give you 75% performance, the really expensive stuff will just get you a little closer to 100%.
  20. + a million Agreed!!!!! I am more than a little surprised to be reading people saying 'don't worry about tyre sizes being absolutely correct'. What works and what doesn't is certainly up for debate, but getting the sizes as close to stock as possible is a mathematical proposition, required for the safety of the car as Nissan intended it, and not difficult. So especially for a young lady who admits to not being completely confident without effective TCS turned on, the best advice is to run sizes to be as close to Nissan spec as possible for road use. Advising anything else to someone who relies on others for this kind of advice, is rather irresponsible in my view, especially when what is correct is documented, failsafe, and easy to achieve.
  21. Not to worry, it's typical 'don't confirm anything until it's lapped the nurburgring faster than competitor x' . I believe that there's a small team working on it and they'll have something ready when the boss finally comes along and says 'so hows the new z coming along?'
  22. Yep, that's definitely a meet, wife sitting in X3/X5 (who the f can tell any more) texting friends or facebooking cos it's cold outside. Unmistakeable.
  23. Yes, I have them. They are spec-fricking-tacular. I'll have them fitted in a couple of weeks, but they are well reviewed elsewhere, have good quality projectors, are appropriately adjusted, are available in LHD or RHD specific fitment, no glue marks inside, perfect lenses, I sometimes pop down to the storage just to open the box and look at them. Pics when fitted, I promise. Plug n play for 06+, minor work required for 03-05 halogen hi beam cars. Torqen also carries them if you want a second opinion.
  24. No silly, that only protects you from having your thoughts stolen by satellites. Durrr.
