  1. http://www.parkers.co.uk/nissan/370z/used-prices/ As for what to look out for, I'm afraid I don't know, I'm a 350 owner, but if the 370 is anything like the 350...nothing that isn't common to all automobiles, Zs have no particular weaknesses.
  2. Remind you of any modern drivers? Hamilton maybe? Let's face it, the guy is not modest, but it doesn't bother me, if I was the best, I'd shout about it too.
  3. Sure you can. Adding more dip on top will make it easier to remove when the time comes and only requires a couple of layers rather than 5+. When you dip over dip, the dip melts the dip a bit and the dip layers fuse together to make one thick dip layer, so it's not like a dip onion or dip Shrek, but a dip dip. Strudul's dip right dip, ya dip know dip. But Strudul, I think Jay meant that if one added a layer of dip every time instead of cleaning, you'd soon have an unfeasibly thick layer. Of dip.
  4. Bumblebee is a Camaro but I still lol'd.
  5. 99% of toothpastes are slightly abrasive, so if you use it on plastidip, it will probably work, but you'll have to go over the whole piece evenly or the area you cleaned will look like it has been mildly sanded I would expect.
  6. Interestingly they were discussing tyres during the MotoGp at the weekend, effectively they could do tyres any colour, but apparently there is a stigma that anything coloured wont stick like black, as thats how we have always known tyres. Why not just have jr18's they are near enough identical, there are loads of wheels that style, if your worried about cost and fitment. I appreciate the thought, that would certainly be much easier, but among all the CH-R clones, JR18s are pretty far away. One of the many other clones of BBS CH-R that I mentioned myself at the top of the previous page are also viable fallback positions. But none of them are like these Apexes. Every single other design has tapered tines, either tapered in or out, or a different shape of concave (Enkei Raijin which are also very close and a nice wheel, for instance, is flat at the edge then suddenly gets concave, not the smooth concavity of these and the BBS). There is no other wheel with that amount of concavity, no lip on the design OR between the tines (webbing for strengthening cast wheels, ala XXR 530, another very nice clone), and parallel tines. These are even better than CH-Rs cos CH-Rs dont get that concave at any size. Basically, I have and always have had an unreasonable love affair with BBS CH-R and would fit them to my Zed if they came in a concave that suited it AFTER PCD adapters (cos they only make one size in 19" 114.3, and it's a weeeeak offset and face). So I was stuck looking at clones which are just not close enough. Until I saw these, these basically ARE BBS CH-R but with more concave, fractionally thicker tines and no 'motorsport' lettering. Plus they come in sizes that could just about be made to fit a Zed with the most concave face AND the needed PCD adapters. I'm willing to go a long way to get the exact look I want, and those Apex wheels are it. I will be painting them satin black like CH-R and fitting a silver BBS protection ring (ala CH-R). Here is my 335xi wearing 19" CH-Rs... Good eyes might spot the funny angle of the buildings in the background, the photo has been corrected horizontally, the car was facing uphill on a steep incline.
  7. Yeh, there are a lot of cheap android phones, which push down the average a huge, HUGE amount compared to the expensive and limited number of Apple phones. Let's say we're talking about Apple vs Samsung flagships only, for the sake of argument, and say that the prices are about 15% higher for Apple, I'd go with that. So, android flagships are cheaper, agreed, let's move along those lines...what makes you buy the more expensive, less compatible, less competent device? Let's put it the other way, what does your iPhone do for you that my S7 edge doesn't? Let me have the easier side of the argument for a while. You don't have to answer that, you said it already and I have no qualms with your reasoning, you're happy with Apple so you won't change, despite costing more and giving you nothing over my Android device. It;s what you're used to and that's fine. so at least we can all agree that what it comes down to is that Android is for everyone, iPhone only for casuals who won't fill it up or care that they can only access their music through iTunes which can only be installed on 6 devices before you have to prove to Apple that you aren't trying to steal someone's account information, for the rest of their lives, and I'll admit it is slightly more user friendly device for those types of Users. The difference is that when you grow, Apple doesn't grow with you. I gots no more to say you'll be pleased to know, thanks for the cool debate.
  8. Nonsense, eh? OK, we shall see. P.S. Can I use your crystal ball when you've finished? What's total tosh and utter nonsense is saying that (most) people are buying Android because they're cheaper! S8 is 1000 euros here. Most people are buying Android , like my wife, because they are geting smarter with their smartphones and running foul of these 'operational consequences' of being an Apple user. "You hear that, Mr Anderson....? That, is the sound of....inevitability." I believe it, Apple's days are numbered (it's a high number though, I won't deny it).
  9. Sorry, I type fast and have a lot to say, don't blame you for skipping. Agreed, it's a purely arbitrary thing. We all will continue to do what we do until there's a reason to change.
  10. How's that? What does your iPhone have that a cheaper Samsung phone doesn't? Ah, yes, it supports your Apple watch, shame Apple decided not to support Android, now you're stuck with an iPhone (if I was a dick, I'd say something like "I rest my case" right there! ). Can you also charge any of your other Micro USB devices with your phone charger? I can!! Did you choose it because your last phone was Apple and that's what you're used to? If so, nothing wrong with that, it's the most important reason of all, but if so, tell it like it is.
  11. I'm trying to explain that while it is playing a role that I am someone who is au fait with such matters, in a minority, that does not mean that these concerns are exclusive to me. You all may not care right now, but just like my mother who was a Mac person due to an early career in graphic design and photography, and is now totally invested in Apple and can't get out, despite wanting to, she acknowledges that the Samsung phones are much better as devices (she was a programmer most of her career, so you can put her in the techy category too, someone capable of recognizing this), then there's my wife, who thought apple was all great until she wanted to take possession of her music and found that she couldn't without using third party dodgy apps (and then later found out it would be easier to torrent all her music from pirate sites - legal if you own the originals, as she does) than it would to try to get the songs she paid for off the phone!! Then soon after that, she filled it up and asked me how she could get more space, I said 'you can't' and she said 'wtf, you cannot be serious? why the f does anyone buy Apple, what a bag of shite'. She actually couldn't believe that she had spent 700 euros on a device that once it was full was 'end of life', and she's right, that is fecking outrageous. If you don't plan on ever using a smartphone to it's potential, then buy a new nokia 3310. If you do, then it is INEVITABLE as an Apple device owner, you will one day find yourself swearing about their ecosystem because it is cringeworthy. Add to that, that I was an Apple fanboy when they 'just worked' and nobody else's devices did, but things have changed since then. Just because you don't think you need a feature, doesn't mean something is not better because it has it. It's like saying that a Datsun 510 is better than a 350Z because it has all the features I need and none that I don't. When that person wants 300hp or a more, they might suddenly rethink that opinion. Or think about the people who buy a 350Z simply because they can, and never take it over 3000rpm, they would have been fine with a mini metro, and will never use the capabilities of a 350Z. You probably think I'm pushing Samsung for reasons that are only important to me, but I promise you I am just trying to help people understand that the choice is one of fashion, because there is no quantifiable reason beyond aesthetics or because it's 'what you're used to', to choose an Apple device, in fact, by doing so, you are just restricting yourself. I say it again, whether it matters to you or not, Android flagships are better devices than Apple flagships for the real and quantifiable reasons I have stated, regardless whether those features are important to you or not. Samsung is a normal toward good corporation, as corporations go (management corruption at the top aside), they are not in the business of working out how to trap you into their system, they are about self improvement and consistently make sure their products adhere to industry standards. Sure they encourage you to stay samsung by providing connectivity benefits, but I can't think of a single feature of a Samsung phone that is 100% exclusively usable ONLY with another Samsung device, for example, the Gear S3 smartwatch is compatible with Apple, but the Apple Watch? hahahahaha, you must be joking! But if you don't like samsung, you can choose a genuinely fluffy Android phone if you want; Huawei or LG for example. You can listen to what I'm saying and think it doesn't matter because you are a light user, and you think iPhones are prettier and that's fine (but recognise that you made that choice for purely arbitrary reasons). Or you can ignore/argue with what I say because you think I'm an Android fanboy and an Apple hater who doesn't understand what Apple is about (but that would be a mistake), or lastly, you can see me as I am, a guy just sharing the facts as he sees them after a lifetime with technology. Finally, there's a metric which kinda puts this to bed. As I mentioned before, it's MAINLY a loyalty/fashion thing, so generally, Apple Users keep buying Apple and Android Users keep buying Android, but it has consistently been noted (and is the reason why Apple's market share is slowly being whittled away), that people who switch from Apple to Android do not switch back and Android users who switch to Apple don't usually keep them long, switching back to Android shortly after. Back button for the win.
  12. When (if) Samsung becomes more fashionable than Apple, this will happen. Apple survives on its brand, not its features, which are poor compared to Android and always have been, just they worked more reliably in the start, but that's not the case any more, so why are they still popular? You say you don't need all the features and things I can do with my S7 edge, and I agree, just like you don't need all the features of your iPhone either. It's a fashion statement, or even a loyalty statement. "I'm an Apple guy", "I'm an Android guy". If you look at it in ones and zeroes, purely objectively, it's just like the Mac/PC debate, and we all know which one of those will always have market share. You're right they have the market share simply because they were the first with a 'decent' product, but iPhones are still the Macs and Android phones are still the 'PCs' for reasons of compatibility. Isn't it time we all sat up and looked around and said, you know, now that other companies have caught up, why am I lining this disgusting corporation's pockets while they sit on their laurels, quietly usurping my freedom of choice to maintain their ecosystem that isn't compatible with anything else? Because it 'just works'? Hmmmmm. If Apple ditched iTunes and other ridiculous DRM methods, and opened up the system a little more, (standard ports for charging and data access would be a great start!!), allowed expandable storage, reasonable cost increases for extra built in storage and viewing the entire file system of the phone, as well as made competitive hardware, and made them a little less feminine as devices (ok, the all black ones look alright, but still kinda 'soft'), I'd be looking at their stuff as an option for my next upgrade.
  13. Hm, judging by the likes, I'm going to assume that more information would be welcome! So here's everything I know about this wheel... It's cheap (relatively) and flow formed, like Enkei and BBS road wheels. They are relatively lightweight and have a good reputation in BMW circles (for non forged wheels), very similar in market position to VMR for example. They are only available in BMW fitment (5x120), so when looking at offsets, figure an extra 20mm (15mm if you're prepared to do some searching) for PCD adapters, the adapters need to be 5x114.3 60.1mm hub bore, to 5x120 72mm hub bore. Deep concave face is available in six 19" sizes and five 18" sizes: 18x9.5 et22 (+2 with PCD adapter) 18x10 et25 (+5 with PCD adapter) 18x10.5 et27 (+7 with PCD adapter) 18x11 et25 (+5 with PCD adapter) 18x11 et44 (+24 with PCD adapter, good rear for 350Z, but you'd have to go to a medium concave face for the front or add lots of camber to the 9.5 option in this list) 19x8.5 et20 (+0 with pcd adapter - good front for stock tyre sizes) 19x9 et22 (+2 with PCD adapter) 19x9.5 et22 (+2 with PCD adapter) 19x9.5 et33 (+13 with PCD adapter - good front for 350Z or a good square setup, or a good rear for stock tyre sizes) 19x10 et25 (+5 with PCD adapter - good rear for 350Z) 19x10.5 et22 (+2 with PCD adapter - too aggressive I think) As you can tell by the amount of research, I'm seriously considering making these wheels work on my car, don't know how I'm going to get them over here though, will pay double the price again in customs and delivery.
  14. I agree on both points, that I personally am in a low percentage (which is why I'm here, educating anyone who wants to listen) and also that people aren't aware what they can do with their phones. I often joke that we all now hold in our hands, the entire collected knowledge of the human race, and what do we mostly use it for? Playing angry birds while taking a dump. #stateofmodernlife Something to think about, if Apple came out with the iPhone now, as a new company, it would be laughed off the internet. An entirely proprietary device that only works synergistically with other products by the same firm? You must be joking! But, now people are invested in it, Apple's got you by the short and curlies, just what Steve Jobs always wanted. He envisioned a monopoly, the open source guys behind Android envisioned an open standard that anyone who wanted to could contribute to and would work with 'everything', ENTIRELY different ethos(es?).
  15. Aside: does anyone know what wheel this is? I'm in love. I know its CH-R style, like XXR 530s and similar, but this is different, it's more concave than CH-R and it doesn't have the strengthening webbing between the spokes that the cheap copies have. Right! Sorry for the resurrection, but this is something that I've been trying to figure out on and off, since I made the above post. I finally found out what these wheels exactly are!! They are APEX EC-7! At frickin' last!!
  16. Well done for reiterating this. I haven't disabled this on my new phone, forgot all about it. Top reminder, thanks!
  17. It does open you up to massively increased risk, for sure. But I can't say Apple's way is better. I can develop a simple app that identifies the locations of traffic cameras in your immediate area, for example, I can compile it on my own PC and send it to you as an app you can install, no involvement from anyone else whatsoever, the app can have 'questionable' legailty, but nobody can stop you. For example, there are several apps that illegally stream sports events. As someone living in Greece, if I want to see a sports event (or even a home made highlights vid), there is no other way I could see these events but via potentially dodgy apps, and yes, of course these apps also install whoknowswhat other mailicious bits of code, it goes with the territory and once again comes down to choice. Just a couple of minor examples, but you're right, for most, it is just increased risk. For me, I just don't want someone else dictating what risks I can and can't take with my own device.
  18. Dibs on the original wheels please Chris!! j/k I can't afford them. But I think you should put BBS CI-R or CH-R II on it.
  19. Personally, I don't do banking on a mobile device, but this is 100% a very good reason for using the Apple device, they are more secure, no question.
  20. I think it is a techie thing, non of the reasons in that first paragraph except maybe the storage issue - i ran out of space on my 16gb 4s but since then just get 128gb and all is well. Otherwise none of that is relevant really for me. I think as you say, if you are a techie and love to customise and link things together to enhance your digital wellbeing by x% then Android all the way. That would be fine if memory prices were logical, but they aren't. The memory itself to go from 16 to 128GB would cost about 50 quid (it's a special kind of memory that's on board, it's not like the SD cards), yet they charge HUNDREDS of dollars more for the high storage versions, for exactly this reason, they KNOW they don't give you expandable storage, they know that you have no choice but to upgrade phone when you run out, it's a trap. Also, I think every one of my reasons is as valid as the next int he original paragraph, if you want to tell me that only the storage thing is important, you're going to have to do a hell of a job selling me why I need iTunes in my life restricting my access to things I paid for!! But also, the reason I forgot and stated above. Apple approved software. It;s a big deal.
  21. I completely understand and support your reasons Dan, as I get older and less patient (not saying this applies to you! Just saying), I don't like fiddling to get stuff to work either. Fortunately, with Android, the only stuff that requires fiddling is the stuff that you would only do if you were already a fiddler, such as changing the whole ROM (operating system) to a customized one, or installing some black hat stuff if you're into that kind of thing. Oh, and another thing about Android, you can install any app, without anyone's approval. On Apple devices you can only install what Apple approves. This is the complete deal-breaker for a LOT of people.
  22. Nothing life or death, but off the top of my head, the main reaons I won't buy another iPhone...The ability to add storage, the ability to use custom operating systems, a hugely increased level of customization (which you aren't going to care about if you like iOS anyway) of the standard OS, being able to ditch iTunes, having all your library of music, pictures, video, both purchased and self created, in a format that can be instantly used on any system. Standard charging hardware. Not needing to have Apple TV for livecasting to other devices in your house, generally, not needing other Apple applications or hardware that are in a closed ecosystem. Better integration with other devices of all kinds (Apple again requires its own ecosystem), though this is getting better as the years go by. Full integration of your mobile accounts with google, which is the defacto login these days. I'm forgetting loads of stuff, and of course there are as many reasons to choose iPhone instead, but these are the ones that techy people like me will cite over and over again, because we want control. For those that just want a phone and don't want to bother with it, again, iPhone is definitely the way to go. iPhones are inherently more secure and stable, ,which is everything to some people. Lastly, I think Apple is a despicable company and I don't like giving them money, they are tax dodgers and slave drivers deliberately perpetuating a closed ecosystem to trap consumers into buying their products alone.
  23. Yeh, well said Dan, you beat me to it, but I just want to echo that... IPhone vs Android is dead simple. If you don't care about what your phone is doing and why, and just want it to work, get an iPhone. If you want control over how your phone works, a high er degree of customization, and naturally, a few more instances of unusual behaviour as a result of that more open system, get an Android. But certainly, if you are already heavily invested in the Apple ecosystem, then you need an iPhone. Worth mentioning Android is ecosystem independent as well, so that's an additional freedom. I'm no fan of Apple but I understand its need for existence, it's the same reason someone buys a car like an Audi, it's not particularly exciting, but it does everything well and you don't need to think about it. Drivers buy more interesting cars, just as people who care about their technology tend to favour Android.
  24. I'd sell them both and get a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge (or non edge depending on preference, but the edge is very pretty). Then get a Spigen slim armor case and you have the best phone and case combo available for the money (that's why I'm not mentioning the S8, which is also even bigger ) today.
  25. And the crappy tyres! Don't forget the crappy tyres! Essential ingredient in arse out action. After reading that Z article you posted in the twitchy moment thread, you start to realise just how much we TOTALLY screw up Nissan's good work on the car. As soon as you change the front bumper, or the W brace, or the rear bumper, you're negating DAYS AND DAYS of work in the wind tunnel by Nissan to make the car extra stable at speed. Food for thought reading that.
