  1. As SHEZZA said, the only thing I'd add to that is using a torque wrench to the correct setting (I do this on all bits n bobs now anyway): 24.5 N·m (2.5 kg-m, 18 ft-lb) http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/nissan-350z-factory-service-manuals.html (PDF = EM - page 34)
  2. I have a couple of top tips. Don't worry about mega pixels, or an expensive camera body - spend your cash on lenses (if you can change them). I prefer prime lenses (so that means you are locked into the focal length) over zooms but zooms have their uses. Lower 'f' numbers will give you a nice shallow depth of field, combined with a variable ND filter (for sunny days esp), there are plenty of reviews on youtube. Typically expensive IS better but not always, just do your research and look at examples all over the web. Shoot the photo's in RAW (never JPG). This'll give you flexibility to adjust many more things in post.
  3. I don't think anyone else in the UK has done this yet but if you look at the US forums plenty have.
  4. All being well, I want to be doing my ones this weekend, and I'll post up some pics etc I've been studying the Z33 Garage vid plenty I also bought Sealey STW1012 Torque Wrench (low torque settings 2-24Nm), arrived this morning ! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sealey-STW1012-Torque-Wrench-Micrometer-3-8-Sq-Drive-2-24Nm-1-47-17-70lb-ft-New-/390896837485?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item5b0344636d Strangely it was calibrated on my birthday --- oooh
  5. EDIT - UPDATE: Don't worry we have the alignment tool in there, so all good Also Adrian will be mailing out the rest of the kits tomorrow for us. & this is the hole cutter I bought @ 51mm (2 inch was the US one used) http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3a841398b1
  6. Please use the search, it does work - and this isn't a unique question If you struggle - then use this kind of search which is MUCH better: copy and paste into google: site:350z-uk.com best intake The stock filter is good, an intake just makes more noise - that's about it. Buy one you think is pretty Have a look (for example): http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/95176-torqen-350-de-hr-air-intake-kits/
  7. I also bought a 51mm hole saw bit (they use a 2" one, which is 50.8mm) on ebay, just in case (as I wasn't sure if it's part of the loaned out alignment tool or not).
  8. I've said it a bunch of times but I don't like the Tesco stuff, it's got a lot of additives in it to make the numbers (and a good friend had issues with it and won't touch it again). So my car is 99% of the time filled up with Shell V-Power Nitro+ (hah daft name).
  9. I have also had my hands on Adrians pipes. So beautifully made, and light !
  10. Option 1 (or 3 if 1 has gone), cheers Adrian Hoping I can do this fix on the weekend.
  11. For the diff, doesn't it take a wee while before you can give it hell ?
  12. What's the run-in period going to be like ?
  13. Just re-read the original link, it should be in the kits bud - R&D Factory 6 spark plug grommets. - R&D Factory DIY Alignment tool. - Nissan OEM Valve Cover Gaskets Both (right and left). - NISSAN OEM PCV VALVE O-ring seal. And it mentioned Black RTV Silicone to use, something like this I think: http://www.amazon.co.uk/V-tech-Black-Silicone-Instant-Gasket/dp/B00442NWOQ
  14. Paid up now Adrian (a friend following me on Sunday mentioned he could smell oil from the car, so I'm hoping it's just due to the RC's )
  15. About -£20,000 (that's a minus in front btw)
  16. Well I decided to purchase and fit a cheap eBay short shifter (shock horror!), these are an exact copy of the b&m/fidanza design. The reason, I thought I'd just see if I liked the feeling of the shortened throw for a cheap price. As I expected, the fit and finish is fine, nothing really wrong with it as it seems like it was updated with the design of the 'official' ones. Fitting is straightforward, and I used the oem plate on top of the included one, as it helps guide into 5th and 6th. The only tiny thing is that reverse is a bit tricky to engage but I can see why and will show why in some pics later. Feels great, very positive, not notchy (I have the poly bushing on the transmission mount btw). I may still try the Stillen or another at a later date but for now this is ok. (will be in touch Adrian ;-) )
  17. The bridgestones I had on were horrid. I remember I was rolling along (no accel) on a slightly damp, large roundabout and the back started sliding completely unprovoked. Next day, binned them and put on some decent rubber (several times I didn't feel confident with them - note this is a DE car, I'm guessing the 40's not 50's on it) (I personally prefer grip to slip - ooer)
  18. I love washing the car in the rain, look like a total nutter
  19. It was about £120 for the original replacement iirc. I like the look of the original but I found a heavy (450g) feels soo much better and precise, and was cheaper.
  20. Sign up to photobucket, you can install it on your phone as well, far easier imho
  21. My one does this, always has done, typically when warmed up and running down a bit.
  22. Can you link to Busters fix in the first post ? (this is something I'll do later in the year, handy to know!)
  23. I completely agree. If you have signs of oil around the spark plugs/RC's then it's typically going to be due to this. I frequently top up with oil but obviously it's best to just fix the problem itself. Since you mentioned it, what sealant should we use for this ?
  24. I would have thought any anodized or painted ones are going to chip/peel no ?
