  1. Gary is a top chap! I needed some small obscure bits for the GTR and he went to extraordinary lengths to work out what I needed and place the order with Nissan UK/Japan for me. David
  2. Didn'r realise they were back in operation for us!
  3. I used to run my M535i at Harewood many years ago, before they extended the course - had a couple of class wins too. - Was always overawed by the likes of Roy Lane and Mike Pilbeam and their hugely impressive focussed single seaters. Happy days... David
  4. Hi Mark, Not too sure to be honest Mark, we only spoke about the transmission software which he suggested we upgrade when I do a clutch re-learn at about 1,000 miles. I'll plug my cable in at weekend and see what pops up! Cheers.
  5. Glad you like it Ade - it does look good doesn't it! Steve Palmer at Edge Automotive - £100 plus p&p. His turnaround was speedy too! I said I'd pass on his details as I'm really REALLY pleased with his work - so if you contact him let him know who tipped you off! Cheers.
  6. Been a while since I bored you about my GTR, so feel free to ignore! Not long after I bought it I had a problem with the transmission selecting, or to be more accurate NOT selecting R or 1 at the first attempt (inevitably when someone was waiting for me to do whatever was needed and get out of the way!). It took a little while but eventually I had the transmission rebuilt at ACSpeedtech in Warrington (under warranty!) with some significant upgrades and it is now sublime! Will need a clutch re-learn and then upgrade to latest transmission software - courtesy of an Ecutek cable and my laptop. Visually the only real change (apart from the bits'npieces in post #34) has been a retrim of the central gear surround.(and a new personal reg to twin up with the 350). Gone is the sliver plastic (easily marked) finish, now it is in a lovely classy alcantara to match the seats. Oh - and the ultimate mod - a leather handle for the inside of the boot lid to pull it closed - Next up - a Divine Detail and then perhaps an intercooler upgrade and a dyno setup... David.
  7. Welcome to GTR ownership. I do like TSW Nurburgring wheels. David
  8. Jeffrey Deaver if you enjoy complex plotted thrillers - Lincoln Rhyme is his main character -some fabulous reads. I also enjoy Michael Connelly and his Harry Bosch crime series. Currently about to start Mark Webber's Formula 1 story. David
  9. Like it Ian- many happy miles of driving. David
  10. 1) Ask Si at Hide'n Seat for advice on short term repair 2) Get a retrimmed wheel from Jack - you won't find better. David
  11. Possibly - might just be a poorly worded advert.
  12. A full quality carbon ceramic brake kit for a GTR is north of £14k so IF they had to be replaced you could easily be looking at close to 1/3rd market value of the car. Reason enough for an Insurer to w/o. What is odd about the ad though is it states these were on the "spec sheet" but not actually fitted to the car. What spec sheet? These are not a factory fit option. Didn't the loss adjustor see what was fitted? David.
  13. Couple of comments: 1) It won't have SatNav at that age of car, it was Year '10 model (from late 59 plates) before that became standard fitment. Can be retrofitted - approx cost £1,800. Not only gives SatNav but also improved screen resolution and some other software upgrades eg selection of metric or imperial calibration. 2) Litchfield Stage 2 is "only" abut 590bhp not the 620 claimed in ad. Main items to check (apart from the repairs) would be rattling Bellhousing (can be sorted by a Litchfield unit - about £800 fitted) and R-1-R intermittent transmission failure - that is BIG bill time! Def worth considering a look and inspection/drive, David
  14. You mean the large rectangular thin frame? I do but I would say it is more satin black finish than high gloss. David
  15. Super job! Hope they both washed off their tyre tracks from your pristine floor! But ... I need some aero mod work done that will need the GTR rear diffuser to come off... hmmm be interesting how that can be achieved with those lifts! Hope you still have a couple of good old jacks! David PS when is the booking form opening?
  16. To any potential purchaser. If you are concerned about small chips etc then Rota UK can provide an exact colour match touch up paint kit! I know as someone lightly scratched one of my Steel Grey PWRs and I used their touch up paint with good results. Hope this helps! David
  17. So not modified at all then and Ian's stuff does NOT count as OEM! Mine should be knitted back together by Friday... ... flight booked for Sat morning! David
  18. Nothing beats a woolly mammoth!
  19. You like the 102mm exhaust Adrian? Are you running standard downpipes? Will be March I think before I get there for ECUTEK V5 ,,, still contemplating the SuperStock Intercooler - David
  20. I only have three word to say... "Super Stock Intercooler"! An easy +20/30 gain. Be churlish not to as you are there anyway... (which is why I am staying away... for now...! Well at least until ACSPEEDTECH have done their stuff on my tranny... and I may make a little diversion on the way back...) David
