  1. I totally agree that a standard Brembo calliper set up is perfectly adequate (as Adrian said Stoptech and Hawke is a great combo) BUT slipping on a Torqen monster kit brings an added dimension to the phrase "stop on a sixpence!" Progressive, great feedback and utterly fade free - plus they look great! David.
  2. hahaha- funneee!!!! £199 - Adrian. I just found out all the internals move when you turn the flywheel. Dav(id)
  3. This was delivered today - a fab model of the GTR engine, just having a perspex case made to keep it dust free, is a fairly weighty plastic/metal model (with sound!) about 9.5" high. Also had the Info Display upgraded to give me full Sat Nav and High Res screen, fitted some titanium bolts to freshen up engine bay and car booked in for a wheel recolour in a few weeks. David
  4. Yeah but I am trying to improve - I really am! Dave.. oops I meant David...
  5. I thought you would be wowing us with a nice McLaren! Now THAT I would exchange my GTR for. Enjoy your little affair with the Yank tank. David
  6. Awww.... sorry to read this Adrian but look forward to hearing about your next acquisition. David
  7. Congratulations. Stage 4 is good (and inexpensive) place to be (4.25 if you change the downpipes), will take you to between 650-680 does add torque (keep that to about 600 lb ft - well within OEM rod capacity). ECUTekV5 gives you the best software and get an ECUTek cable/dongle to be able to adjust your clutch settings to suit your preferences as well as load new s/ware and check out all the sensors/settings. Book yourself on a CATD driving course at Millbrook (Check GTR club forum - one on 16 July). The GTR rewards you well once you understand its characteristics and you can only really explore those to begin with on track . I have been driving and racing (with some success) high performance cars for a long long time and have still a lot explore and learn about the upper threshold of these incredible machines. I am on the July course where you can push the car as far as you feel comfortable and get to know it properly. Watch for any sign of R-1-R shift failure (you will see R flashing on gear display and hear the shift fork trying to find a gear). If that happens DON'T ignore it as that path can lead to BIG transmission bills! ACSpeedtech nr Manchester are the ultimate transmission gurus should you need them. If you catch this fault early then rectification costs can be quite modest. David
  8. Don't laugh but I found my local Halfords branch made me a perfect colour match rattle can for my gun grey. David
  9. A bucket is a bucket... just use 2 regular buckets from any supplier and one grit guard. David
  10. Congratulations Andy the car looks splendid. I know how tough that first competitive run is after a significant "off" when it is your road going pride and joy! David
  11. I think I took a few mm off the shaft when fitting my MOMO knob (which is fixed using 3 grub screws it doesn't screw on) and ended up with this.
  12. At Brands for the Blancpain Sprint weekend - in Paddock and Director's terrace trying to avoid being turned lobster red... David
  13. Out of Group Buy. Already have a set fitted. David
  14. Once you now the paint code pop along to Halfords and they will mix you a can to the right spec. I've tried their paint mixing service for my Gun Metal grey Zed and found it to be a great match. David
  15. Must make a pleasant change to work on one of your OWN cars rather than our motley collection that rolls up! David
  16. Welcome to R35 ownership! If you think Stage 1 is quick - come on up to 4 or 4.25 - it is blistering. Have many happy miles of fun Sam! David
  17. Yes it was from RT and yes it was under a lot of tension as it was a few mm too short .
  18. Yes. Was slightly too narrow and didn't fit well around the grille aperture. With some effort managed to JUST get the ends to wrap around the lip of the wheel arch but clearly was under some stress as it started to split along the ends in a few months. Took it off and binned it. David
  19. Now my "C-handles" are all furry to match my centre gear surround - courtesy of Edge Automotive.
  20. Adrian, Have sent off the silver internal "C-handles" for alcantara trim now!
  21. Yes Matt, the box Paul fitted to the GTR has 2nd video input. His kit is top quality. I generally have my suspension set to Comfort (lol!) and leave transmission in normal. OK so it isn't the hardest thing to flick the switch but it also stops it dropping out of R-mode if you shift to/from manual. Truth is - I am a sucker for a gadget! David
  22. Yes I have the reverse beep defeater box fitted! Was more than just a camera and a cable for sure! Your Mailbox is full! David
  23. Don't know yet Adrian - wasn't out last night - will let you know! D
  24. Yesterday had the GTR fitted with a Reverse View camera (electronics and fitting by Paul_S at **REMOVED**). I have parking sensors already but this is one fat assed car that def benefits from all the reversinh guides possible! Also fitted a Memory Box to the "R-Mode" settings control bar so now the car remembers what your transmission/suspension/dynamic control were set to last time and restores to those settings. What a labour saving device! David
