  1. No-slightly different model I think. OK - thanks - good luck with your sale. David
  2. Collected my '6 Facelift Zed a few hours ago and is absolutely superb - apart from either I don't understand the aircon settings or I have a fault! Left dial set to AUTO; Right dial set to AUTO & AirCon light is ON; Temp set to min (18). Result- ice cold air but fan runs at MAX setting all the time regardless of how long I leave the settings unchanged. Move Temp setting one or two notches up from minimum setting and instant furnace heat and still MAX fan setting. I thought that setting all to AUTO and A/C ON - then system would stabilise at chosen temp and automatically kick fan in/out as needed to maintain chosen temp (well my other car does it that way!). Something not working? Apart from that and my stand alone 6" widescreen SatNav being too big to fit inside the cubby and let me close the lid (damn I should have bought a smaller one...) I am very happy! David
  3. Would this fit an '06 Facelift? David
  4. OK once car is with me I'll get back to you - I suspect GunMetal feet - hmmm, or not... Two more questions... 1) I would want the tension nut and mounting bolts polished - do I send you my current ones and you polish and send back? Would that mean I can't use car as the strut brace would be off the car until the mounting bolts are back? 2) I think I have misunderstood how to release/reset the tension. I wrongly thought that was done using the nut on the strut brace itself. Looking at the pictures though is the tension taken by the mounting bolt that sits in the slotted hole on the mounting foot? David
  5. My newly purchased Zed won't be in my ownership until weekend and already a long list of mods on my list and now I have found another one! Will have to decide if I want my feet (well not MY feet, my struts feet) in gun grey or black but in the meantime: 1) How easy are these to remove/refit? 2) Any new mounting nuts/studs needed? 3) Are the torqued to a specific value of just a good old heave? 4) Are all struts the same in terms of length - I assume the thread/nut on the strut is there for minor adjustments - is that needed or is this a 100% remove-refit job? David.
  6. Sounds good, missed the last two so would be good to get another to have a catch up and see the mob As a newcomer - sounds interesting to meet up and do some compares/natter/snack... David
  7. Pics of what I bought and had to walk away from for a few days...
  8. Thanks guys - will get pics up asap. Steve - PMd you re NISMO bits. David
  9. To continue from my "on the search" thread. The deed is done and my first Zed (06, Facelift) has been purchased - I am stupidly excited and at my age I shouldn't be so excited about a new car should I? Oh yes I should! Won't collect car until mid week or OMG maybe not even until next Saturday.... Arrrgghhhh! Car was as described by seller, looked splendid in the gorgeous sunshine in London today, GunMetal paintwork glinting alluringly! We settled on £8250 which i was happy with considering new clutch and DMF, 4 new tyres (hmmm Nexen - not a brand I am familiar with, anyone any experience of these? I might change for MPSS), new lads all round, great service history (Abbey Motorsport), clean long MOT. Drives insanely well, clutch a little heavier than I was expecting but it does have a lot of horses (300) to transmit. Brakes and steers well, suspension not in the least "crashy" which was a happy surprise, feels quite compliant but need to get it into a good open road/track to explore. I also expected to sit a tad lower in the car. Downsides - drivers interior door pull a bit scratched, cubby lid button also scratched - am sure an interior smart repairer can fix easily. Body, although shiny needs a good "claying" and I might give it a light detail with my DA machine (am aware of how thin/ soft Nissan paint is). Some light marking on wheel rims and couple of spots where corrosion bubbling the spokes - nothing major - a refurb will resolve. Have a list of goodies now I will be ordering ASAP! RedlineStyling first on list, then Knight Racing! One question about the boot mat. That seems to slide about like Torvil and Dean on speed - anyone have some tips to make that less "mobile"? Would expect anything placed on mat to be less than secure! All in all - am one happy (mature) bunny! Now - how many sleeps to go???? David Are pics expected?
  10. Thanks guys - all good and interesting comments. Am off tomorrow to see a Gun Metal '06 (Facelift - 300bhp) with 56,500 on clock at £8.5k No Nav but does have: * New tyres (not sure of brand) * Exceedy clutch and DMF fitted by AbbeyMotorsport at 46,000 * New pads (Brembo brakes) 4k miles ago * FSH * Based on owner comment - never taken over 3,500 rpm until warm, no track use, always run on Shell Premium, Tax to Mar 2013, 12 month MOT, some kerb/scuffing to alloys. Thoughts?
  11. Looking to spend 8-10k and have spent many an hour trawling through this site and (mainly) Autotrader for a 2nd drive car (although I am really aiming for a GTR next year..). I think I am looking for an 06/07 (when did the 300 bhp hit the market), in GunMetal, with Rays, black interior. What did the "facelift" do to the car? Some questions that I don't THINK have been asked (apologies if my search for answers has been a fail!). 1) I have seen a car which appears NOT to have a handle on the inside of the driver doors. Is this a) common and able to be retro-fitted. It looks most odd without one! 2) I see some of the leather seats are "smooth" and some appear "dimpled" - when did the change happen (I prefer the dimpled look). 3) Comments on Nissan SatNav please. Worth having? I think I read a comment where someone said it was pants. If SatNav isn't present I assume the place it sits is just a cubby? I guess I could have a reasonable sized after market unit fitted. 4) Why so few with the boot divider? Are these available OEM? 5) Why so few with tonneau to give some privacy to boot content? Are these available OEM? 6) Need I be concerned about cars with 60k+ miles? Appreciate that Abbey Motorsport is pretty close to me (Reigate, Surrey) and from my readings they appear to be a highly valued indie.
