  1. Reluctantly my Zed is up for sale due to having moved home. Whereas I was alternating my daily drive between the Zed and the GTR I now commute the short distance by train and am using them both less and less and I’d like the Zed to go to a new owner who can enjoy it as much as I have. (I’m keeping the GTR!) An 06 Facelift DE covered approx. 86,000k miles. Mechanically it has ZERO issues fully maintained during my period of ownership (4 ½ yrs) by Abbey Motorsport - whatever needed to be done at any time was ALWAYS done. Last Service (P1) & MOT was September 2016 and there were ZERO advisories. I have service records, worksheets, invoices for all the work and most of the modifications. The car has 2 keys - one of which is in a “flip style†case, the other is the standard Nissan 350Z style. The bodywork (pictures of last year’s full detail are here http://www.350z-uk.c...an-350z-detail/) is immaculate – no rust or paint blemishes or stone chips. The list of modification is extensive (see below) and there is a build thread of this car here (http://www.350z-uk.c...s/#entry1010631) Full service History (last Svc 09/16 @ 83,000k miles) Clutch/flywheel replaced at 47,000 miles Uprev remap by Abbey Motorsport Full stainless steel Miltek Exhaust Berks HFCs HKS air filter Carbon fibre air intake tube Carbon fibre engine cover Carbon fibre strut brace Carbon fibre cooling panel Carbon dipped rocker covers (carried out when oil sealing tubes were replaced) Plenum in satin black Stainless steel “dress up†bolts Core strut brace – carbon dipped Nickel plated bonnet catch Chargespeed engine undertray New battery Dec 2016 Torqen MONSTER brakes (Front – 8 pot callipers with 380mm discs, Rear 6 pot callipers with 356mm discs) Torqen fully adjustable coilovers (rears adjustable from inside boot, front from inside engine bay) ROTA (PWR) wheels with Yokohama Advan tyres (Front 19x9 with 245/35x19, Rear 19x10 with 275/35x19) - LOTS of tread left. Private Plate NOT included. I am based in Cardiff and am prepared to bring car to a mutually convenient meeting point (within reason) for anyone who is REALLY interested in purchase, otherwise viewing by appointment. if you want to drive it you can but first prove to me that you are FULLY insured please (that means current original Insurance Certificate with Comprehensive cover on ALL cars and proof of Identity) there is ZERO tolerance on this! Advert will appear on Piston Heads soon. David
  2. At Stage 4+ you are closing in on the capabilities of the standard (cast) rods esp if you are much over 600 lb/ft of torque. MOST Stage4/4.25 engines are OK and nothing goes wrong but a few on the GTR forum have bent rods an/or had complete rod failure. I have just had mine rebuilt (no there was no failure -it was peace of mind) with forged rods and pistons along with fully balanced crank which gives me virtual bullet proof capacity to about 750 (am running now at 650 bhp and 625 lb/ft torque so am well within capacity). Not saying you have to do this but it is a good long term investment which will also increase the desirability of your car in future. For me was a good peace of mind spend. As Adrian said you can control spend on consumables ... IF you can control your right foot! They are massively competent cars and hugely drivable and once you get on top of the electronics they come alive. Immensely nimble for a big fairly heavy car. I recommend a CAT Driving course at Millbrook - you will learn for yourself how competent they can be! David
  3. As Ekona says - you either trust them or you don't and presumably this is a known company with a good reputation? I've always left my cars at the refurbishers inc my GTR -if they are taking 3 days I'd guess they are pretty busy and probably don't have the time (or the inclination) to "hoon around".
  4. I took part in a Performance day last year in my GTR and I cannot recommend this course highly enough I have a fair amount of competition experience but still felt I learned a great deal from the day not only about the performance of the car but about my own performance and the Gymkhana at the end of the day is an absolute hoot! There is very little "standing around", the various teaching events in the day are logical and build on each other nicely. Added bonus for me was "Driver of the Day" award! David
  5. What a brilliant idea! Let me think about - Oh wait - I just did!
  6. That would be mighty clever if I could!
  7. Sounds good - I may well rock along in the 350 or the GTR.
  8. Should be quite a benefit getting up the hills "briskly" Andy. As I moved to Cardiff last year, Gurston is no longer my closest climb, Prescott and Shelsley are now easier to reach, I'll no doubt see you sometime at the MAC Championship rounds at Shelsley. David
  9. Moved to Cardiff Oct last year and would aim to turn up for a meet/breakfast/drive out (all depends on pre-scheduled comittments of course) and before the Zed is sold! David
  10. Lots of them about - - this one made me LOL - literally.
  11. Know what you mean Martin - I'll be putting my lovingly upgraded and cared for 350 up for sale soon. David
  12. I used The Arch Enemy in Abinger Hammer between Dorking and Guildford. They guy operates out of Drift Street Imports (I think) in a small trading estate that seemed to be totally devoted to race car/fabrication businesses. Think I contacted them through their WebSite. Did a great job - thoroughly cleaned inner lips, rolled then sealed them. David
  13. It may be an "age thing" but when I want to know the time I look at my watch and not my phone. I do actually feel under-dressed if I don't wear one.
  14. I empathise - my TAG Heuer (Ltd Senna edition) was £470!
  15. lol - I was going to post same response... I'll let you go ahead! David
  16. As a long time member but NEW to Cardiff - welcome! David
  17. Good for you Andy! I have said before that returning to the track in your personal road car after an "off" (!) is an order of magnitude harder than returning in a car that is used solely on track. I went through the same thought process after a BIG accident at the Nurburgring in my road BMW but when it was all straightened out I then "took to the hills" and although I had some jitters at the first event soon enough it receded and the thrill of competing again took over. Best wishes for next season - my nearest "local" hill (now that I have moved) is Prescott - be good to see you there sometime. David
  18. I am not THAT bored seeing it! Thanks for the offer but I'll say no, David
  19. Getting bored seeing this box in my apartment! No-one interested?
  20. Hi Adrian, Wheels and calipers always washed using pH neutral cleaners and by me. Car was then hand washed at my local car wash but no sprays were ever used - only reg car wash detergent and filtered water. Not had any discolouration on the GTR calipers. David.
  21. Doubt I get them that hot (unlike my GTR when I can get those VERY hot), the Zed isn't track run. To be honest with the Monster sized disks you don't need to be on the brakes for very long (ie heat generation is not prolonged) to shed speed. I think I opted for anodised.
