  1. I have a set but need a second set - so you can put me down for one. David
  2. I only do mine once a year - is harder work as you get older...! David
  3. I never used wax on mine - preferring simply to use Autofinesse Tough Coat sealant as final layer. Lately I've gone over to using Fusso Soft 99 which is easy to apply, gives a lovely finish and seems pretty durable. As in all things to do with detailing we all have our individual preferences so my way is only ONE way not the ONLY way! David
  4. Twice in the past 6 months I have been within a gnat's whisker of sealing the deal on a GTR -not sure I can resist for much longer... David
  5. You should still get a good quality finish on your GM - here is a picture of mine after I used my DAS6 on it. I use Lake Country pads and Menzerna polishing compound and do pretty much what you describe. I initially spritz the pad with a mist of water, three large(ish) pea size drops of compound. Maybe you aren't using enough pressure or aren't polishing long enough? You wont do a bonnet on one pass though - I'd probably have mentally sectioned mine into at least 6 sections with fresh compound applied on each section and polish until you end up with an overall almost oily haze. Then a light buff off with microfibre and glaze/seal on top. David
  6. Plenum went to one of our Scottish members who simply contacted me via PM. David
  7. Bushes & cover soon to be heading to their new home. David
  8. Carbon overly kit now sold - thanks Rav and sorry Angry Biker. David
  9. Gentlemen and Ladies, I still have a compression arm and bluetooth cradle available. A genuine Nissan compression (banana) arm. As you can see this is still in the original Nissan wrapping - I think (!) it is passenger side! Yours for a heart stopping give-away price of only £200 + p&p A standard Bluetooth adaptor HOLDER - the one that sits inside the rear console box. £10 +p&p David
  10. Probably doesn't help but my Mines copy lip is not a good fit so am replacing it with GT style on the basis a) I like the upwards "swoop" in the middle and the sides look a little less severe than the NISMO unit. Probably visit TQM in Fleet to have fitted/bonded/glued/nailed/hammered on, or whatever process is needed...! I just know getting the Mines copy off is going to be a PITA tho! David

    DE ENGINE COVER

I tried but you are "unable to receive any messages"! David
  12. Wilkl take you up on that sometime - live in Redhill so not too far away. Cheers.
  13. In use how does it feel? As you say the original throw isn't exactly huge. Any less/more precise? Any selection issues? David
  14. OMG!!!! That is absolutely hilarious! I'd go visit just to be on his tour! David
  15. I have fitted the pre-facelift (sliding door version) to my '06 facelift console and it took only some minor adjustment around the back of the unit to fit. The door shape at the top is very VERY slightly different so when I close it there is a slighty larger gap between the top of the door and the console. Us Zed geeks might spot the mm gap increase but the casual oserver probably wouldn't. Oh and there was a colour shade difference but a quick going over with satin black soon erradicated that. David
  16. Abbey Motorsport replaced the seals on both my rocker covers over a year ago. I assume the kit they use will be pretty similar to this one. All clean and oil free ever since so if done properly it does work and massively cheaper than replacement RCs. David Thanks for the reply mate. Sounds good that it worked out. Can you remember how much it cost you to replace the seals on the rockers so I know what price labour etc to look out for? Was 3.5 hr labour (£227) plus about 25 for seals and RC gaskets. (exc VAT)

  18. Yeah that looks ace! What is it? Thanks. I was a bit unsure at first as they're a bit Mustang wannabe, but hell, who doesn't want to be in a Mustang As Jimboy2 helpfully pointed out , they're Stillen louvres, painted black, from Tarmac. I really really like them but they've hidden my club sticker Was a "will I? Won't I?" mod for me - but I did and I think they look ace - had mine carbon dipped to match my carbon B post covers. David
  19. I only ever went to the Tattenhall "shop" once and had a job finding it. I bought a pair of rear shock absorbers for my Lotus Europa, 1973 or 74 it must have been, I remember it as being rather quaint Pete Ahhhh Lotus Europa... I had 2. First a Renault engine job the second the Big Valve Lotus Twin Cam. I recall collecitng the 2nd one from dealer on Friday evening and then took my girl friend out for dinner - strategically chosing a restuarant where I could see my car! Drive home and in the morning couldn't wait to get down and take my new pride and joy for a run. Sat in, turned ignition key and "click", "click", "click"! Yep brand new car and battery as flat as a flat thing from planet flat. Wait though it gets better! Back up to apartment, woke GF and asked her to come down and help me push start the car! She dressed and came down. Now what I should have done was the ungentlemanly thing of sitting in car and getting her to push it but no I decided she should get i and I would push it. No problem thinks I, all she has to do is drop the clutch and stop - easy peasy. In she gets, I push the car, "Clutch out NOW!", she does as told (that was a first!) engine catches instantly and... shoots off at a fairly rapid rate down the road! Oh - did I mention that GF couldn't actually drive? I was rooted to the spot seeing my brand new car speed off and started to leg it after her! Calm as you like though in a few hundred yards (felt like miles to me!) she de-clutched, coasted gently to a halt (luckily there were no other cars parked on the road so she didn't actually have to steer, other than straight) and by the time I got there (somewhat flustered!) she was sat with car in neutral, handbrake on and asking what the fuss was! Nerves restored I drove to the dealer and nearly rammed the flat battery where the sun didn't shine! New one fitted and some free Lotus race team goodies later I emerged and all was well with my world again. Happy days. David
  20. Car had just crested the rise at Flugplatz and would have been very lightly loaded on front as a result. Is not uncommon for cars to get a little "squirrely" there and lose adhesion. Manfred Winkelhock took off in his F2 March flipping it over. David
  21. The point of having one of the Cabin Crew in the cockpit isn't to fly the plane or stop the pilot in command doing something "ill advised" - all that person has to do is "open the cockpit door" and you don't need flight training to do that!
  22. Brilliant - never knew such a thing existed! Have just ordered one as my OBD plug is used to drive a separate electronic gauge cluster onto a touch screen in the top cubby and not having the port accessible in the usual place is sometime a pain. Problem solved! David
