  1. I am happy to be different - I don't think it is that bad! David -
  2. Yep - CERTAINLY the best wheels - much lusted after... David
  3. The standard Milltek is virtually silent, possibly even quieter than the original. I was quite disappointed when mine was fitted. It was only once I had Berks HFCs fitted that the true sound of the exhaust was liberated. I certainly don't find it intrusive or "drony". It is purposeful on idle, meaningful on acceleration but can be lovely and quiet at motorway cruise (even "around" the speed limit...). Not sure I have helped! David.
  4. Wicked coatings dipped my cam covers (see my build thread) - superb job. David
  5. Abbey Motorsport have yesterday fitted Hawke ceramic pads to mine (Brembo calipers). Too early to comment about dust but they feel very effective and certainly not noisy (running Stoptech discs and HEL lines). David
  6. Mark will give a more considered view but I would say yes it should be. David
  7. Loving the new brake setup Mark - even on my short trundle to work the improvement is significant - kudos to you all once again for delivering top quality results. For other readers, the Abbey techs fitted 4 x StopTech grooved discs, Hawke ceramic pads (Brembo suitable), HEL lines, Super Blue Racing fluid. Great setup (especially as they took the time to properly bed them in with requisite heat cycling) - delivers the firm pedal that I prefer, good bite even from cold (suspect once they are properly warmed it will only get better). David
  8. Hi David, to the best of my knowledge the fit mechanically is identical. These seats have no electrics or airbags so wiring shouldn't be an issue. I'm not sure about airbag sensor / dash light though, somebody with more experience would have to answer that one i'm afraid as i have no experience. I hope that helps. Thanks but I want to retain airbags - good luck with sale. David
  9. Are these a direct replacement for standard leather seats in terms of electric adjustment and full airbag provision/connection? David
  10. Collected mine from Royal Mail office this morning, printed off the pics as a guide. With a nice weekend weather being forecast this might see me buried in the engine bay (as always much to the amusement of my fellow apartment dwellers) OR I could wait a couple of weeks until I move when I will have a nice double bay undergound parking area at my new apartment... Either way looks line fun time and give my engine bay an early spring spruce up (now that I have my plenum and cam covers all blinged up!). David
  11. Is a LOT less scary than you think! David
  12. DO NOT BUY FROM EVO-R'S WEB SITE, I DID IN JUNE LAST YEAR AND NEVER RECEIVED MY ITEM OR A REFUND AND THE CON ARTIST JUST IGNORES MY E=MAILS Sorry you have had that experience, all I can say is I have twice bought from Evo-R without any issue. But your warning to others should be heeded. David
  13. The ones from RWS and Evo-R are vey different. The RWS unit is a much finer weave and covers more of the top of the gauge pods than the Evo-R does. Hard to describe but obvious when you check pics on respective web sites. Also the RWS site doesn't have an English language "shop" - is only in Japanese - I can help out with placing orders if you need. David.
  14. If you are prepared to go "across the border" a little into Surrey (!) try Boss Dog in Dorking. They wrapped the s/w covers on my car a few weeks ago (check out my build thread) and did a great job, very quickly and at a good price too. David
  15. I think I was one of Ian's first customers for his divider and as I mentioned to him then he was selling them way TOO cheaply! A top quality item, great price and I hope people keep using his workmanship. The original AND the best! David
  16. You would need to be ENORMOUSLY ham fisted to do any damage with a good DA. I had the same concerns when I used one for the first time but they really are easy, safe and give a great result - it is rotary polishers that can burn through the clear coat really easily as they don't have the same elliptical type of orbit. Whether the one you are looking is any good or not I don't know - I use a DASPro6 - with Menzerna compounds and Lake County pads - based on recommendations from Detailing World and some suppliers on there. The circular marks (swirls) are more likely due to the washing process rather than the polishing/waxing process - def suggest you visit Detailing World and have a good read about washing techniques as well as some great info on DA, compounds and pads. David
  17. One pair unused (packet still sealed) OEM bushes - £25 +p&p or free local collection/delivery. David Mod Edit: Moved to 350 Parts for sale
  18. Sorry to bring this back up but what are your thoughts on the R1R?
  19. Carbon intake pipe was from Redline Styling Thanks! The only dipped parts are the cam covers - rest are all deliciously real carbon goodness.. David
  20. To pick up from the previous teaser picture of my new cam covers. At my latest service (which included a spark plug replacement), the technicians at Abbey noted that I had oil leaks into spark plug wells 3 & 5 ie both covers were weeping (so was I when they told me…) I was pleasantly surprised to be told that, despite what I have read, Abbey can remove and replace the spark plug well gasket (obviously as well as fitting new perimeter cam cover gaskets) and make the covers completely oil tight as a result. The labour costs are slightly increased to effect the repair but even so the total cost is considerably less than having to source complete new cam cover units. A passing comment from Scott at Abbey that I might consider having the covers repainted, morphed into having them hydro dipped to a carbon fibre effect finish and the ghastly standard plenum cover refinished in satin black - whoever in Nissan thought that a rough surface aluminium casting would look good in the engine bay needs to be taken out and dealt with! Didn’t they look at the engine bay after their long term durability testing and see how horrid the plenum becomes? I did flirt with the idea of having the plenum hydro dipped but thought a) the standard surface texture might not take nicely to that treatment and as I have a carbon fibre top engine cover I was concerned the "weave" might not match across both items, so I opted simply to have the plenum painted in satin black. Scott not only contacted the hydro dippers for me (which included sending images of the parts concerned to the dippers to be sure they knew what was involved) and negotiated the price but also arranged for some of their in stock (non leaking!) rocker covers and a plenum to be packaged up and sent off for treatment. This meant the time Abbey actually needed to work on my car was only that to replace the units concerned and I didn't have the hassle of packaging and delivery to contend with. My u/s covers will be repaired and put back as replacement stock. The work was carried out in Abbey's usual efficient way, Mark having collected my car from home leaving me with a replacement car and swapped them back when the works were completed. OK so you cannot see much of the rocker covers now that they are in situ but subtle glimpses of the refinished cam covers I think actually enhances the end result. Anyway I am happy with the end result and to be honest that is all that matters! Oh yes and new compression arm bushes (SuperPro) were fitted at the same time. Once again top marks to the guys at Abbey for providing a fantastic level of service.
  21. awww Pants... am moving apartments that day... David
  22. Fitted perforated leather MOMO recently (see my build thread). As said above use one of the rubber sleeves and the knob itself is fitted using three grub screws (supplied). Suggest you put a few turns of electrical tape on shaft as it gives the grub screws something to "dig in" to. David
  23. I have one from RT, you can see it on my build thread. David
  24. My worry was whoever was going to do it would be using a scalpel right next to my newly trimmed wheel - the guy doing this small wrap was VERY careful! Def recommend them Graham. David
