  1. Timpsons cut my blade (and didn't charge me for it) and it was perfect right away. The girl who cut it did state the Company policy that she couldn't gurantee it would work but then added there was no reason why it wouldn't work. David
  2. Over a year ago Abbey fitted refurbed (and carbon dipped - but that is a different story) rocker covers to my DE instead of simply supplying new covers. Not a sign of any oil leaks since, so repair is certainly feasible (and much cheaper). David
  3. Sorry the one I have is an 06 Facelift. David.
  4. I had a new one supplied and programmed by The Auto Key Squad a couple of weeks ago for £219. Cutting the key and programming the remote lock/unlock was easy but it took the techie a while to resolve the immobiliser code. He got it eventually by using the bar code details that are on top of the steering column under the plastic shroud. David
  5. Facelift or non Facelift?
  6. 2nd? I thought it was a longer cycle than that? For some reason I had it in my head it was every 5th? David
  7. Mine doesn't seem to do this. It's an 04 so maybe a facelift thing? ahhh- could be - mine is a DE Facelift.
  8. You know that is a configurable setting on your fob? If you press and hold both buttons for +5 seconds it flips to "all open on single press". Doing same flips to "driver door only open on 1st press". David
  9. Visit Tarmac (trader here) and get yourself a proper set of carbon look covers for those B post panels. David
  10. There is a plastic "post" running from the end of the armrest into the door card, you might need to pull the arm rest horizontally towards you to release that befire then pulling vertically.
  11. I am indeed, to be honest I was in 2 minds about whether to fit them or not even after having them dipped, but I think they look OK! I am going to change my B pillar to the ones from TarmacSportz as the CF weave pattern on my current ones is too fine and doesn't match the louvres.(Assuming I can unstick the existing NISMO covers that is!) David They look great, I've got a GM and some louvres waiting to go on. I have been playing around in photoshop trying to decide between going colour coded or gloss black. The dark works really well in your pic, gives a great shape to the area with the door window and that rear quarter area. Thanks for posting this Mine are carbon fibre effect hydrodipped.

  13. Any pictures David? Seen that done on only one other 350 before and it looked really good. Happy to oblige with a couple of quick mobile phone pics as parking up.
  14. I fitted carbon dipped Stillen louvres to the small side windows... David
  15. I have one as I replaced it with a carbon fibre pipe. Let me know if you are interested. David
  16. That's my Zed in the pic - the Zunsport grille was a very early mod! On the Facelift model you need to remove the plastic body coloured slats in the "mouth" then the grille simply screws on to the horizontal struts that will be revealed once the slats/covers have been removed. You can reach most of the slat fixing screws from the top down through the aperture where the bonnet catch is. There are also two black plastic plates at each end that are screwed on from the front. It sounds harder than it actually is! David
  17. I lived in Brussels for a few years and occasionally saw the riot Police in action... you really do NOT want to mix it with them. Fabulous city, fabulous country - much underestimated by most people. David
  18. I can only speak of the Miltek. You will find it very quiet. When I had mine fitted by Abbey I thought it was actually more quiet than the OEM unit. It was totally transformed though when a set of HFCs were fitted. Resulted in a lovely tone throughout the rev range, not at all "drony" and nice and quiet on motorway cruise. David
  19. I've just come back from something similar. Flew into LA (2/3 days) then to Vegas (3 days - tacky/noisy/fake/brash... but I went there to see Cirque, Grand Canyon so that was good). Then up to San Francisco - I WALKED ALL the way up Lombard St (mistakenly people think of as "Bullit" road) - from the harbour right to the top - recommendation - DON'T! It nearly killed me! It is seriously SERIOUSLY steep!!!! Toured Alcatraz and Golden Gate bridge Day trip (long day by super comfy coach) to Yosemite - WOW - saw some "specks" climbing El Capitan (huge granite cliff) - AVERAGE time to climb is 5 days (DAYS!) Down Pacific Coast highway (AMAZING route and views are just fabulous). Stayed in Santa Barbera ( I want to reitre there... NOW...), then down to Laguna Beach and back to LA for last 2 days. Universal in LA was absoutely great (priority line passes def worth the extra $$). Helicopter over Grand Canyon was utterly breathtaking. Returned my SUV with 13 (!!!!) miles worth of "gas" in the tank (completed about 1,500 miles overall) at which the Alamo check in guy said "Man - that is the best gas return I have EVER seen! Weather was seriously hot - 38/42 for first week in LA/Vegas, "cooled" down to mid 30s rest of the time. David
  20. ooo - yes please... just been too lazy to find a set and take off the locking nut. If "Flex" doesn't take your offer I will... be happy to pay a reasonable sum. David
  21. Hello mate, did u have to remove the bumper to get to it? Cheers That's what she 'Zed' :-/ No, you can access the catch from the top down through the slam panel. Took me about 15 min to replace mine (including the time to remove and refit my CF cooling panel). David
  22. My "How NOT to do it..." was never captured for posterity - but is heavily imprinted in my memory banks! Was all to do with the entry/apex speed at Wehrseifen and Breidscheid... they are totally TOTALLY different... but easily confused! David
  23. Miltek with standard CATs will give you a whisper queit exhaust note. With HFCs the exhaust note is totally transformed and gives (IMHO) the ideal note/balance. Quiet at motorway cruise, purposeful on tickover and great on acceleration. There can be emission problems unless you get the CATS properly warmed up first, but they do pass the MOT without major issues (well mine has twice and others will comment appropriately!). David
