  1. I can't recommend anything other than what I opted for myself, as that is all I have tried, based on my own research etc. a couple of years ago. I bought the Magicshine MJ-816. Also known as the Mickey Mouse I believe as it has two side lights that look like Mickey ears! I think it cost a little under a hundred at the time. I can honestly say that this thing is brighter than some motorbike headlamps I have used in the 80's. On full whack, cars are dipping before rounding a corner because they think another car is coming, but not to worry, it actually dips itself as the beam would be too much for oncoming vehicles. You have the choice of pushing the button and holding it whilst the output reduces to around 5% (although this can take 2 or 3 seconds, so you need advance warning) or a couple of sharp pushes switches to the 'side' lights which have a wide beam, ideal for keeping sight of the road edge but not offending any motorists. This is what I choose to do, and have not had any problems. It uses a rechargeable Li-ion pack, with a fuel gauge which lets you know when it's low. The only criticism would be the rubber 'o' ring fitting for the lamp body. They are fine for the switch and other light weight parts, but I ended up making a more substantial clamp fitting to ensure that the beam doesn't drop every time you hit a pothole. Other than that, I can't fault it. I can see everything in the road directly ahead of me like it's daylight, and the additional flat beam from the 'ears' gives great wide peripheral vision. Definitely worth a look in your price range.
  2. The crankshaft should drive both belts, with the aircon pulley on the right when looking from the front of the car. Have a look here: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/350Z/coupe/2006/em.pdf Section 14.
  3. Depends on the model, DE has two belts, HR has only one. But from what you describe it sounds like you have the DE with a missing belt.
  4. Yes, try this before you go any further. Note; use of a 'power' bleeder will not work. Page 7. http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/350Z/coupe/2008_Coupe+Roadster/CL.pdf
  5. I think you're looking for one of these. http://www.courtesyparts.com/350z-coupe-rear-cargo-area-tray-p-19464.html?cPath=714_881_1238& Picture and description are a bit lacking, but I think it's supposed to be similar to the generic plastic tray that most manufacturers supply as an option. Harder wearing than a carpet, and contains any spillages. Although this Zed one is only designed for the boot area rather than the open area behind the seats, so I don't know how happy you're dog would be stuffed in the boot. May be you could adapt a plastic tray from something else to fit in the forward section.
  6. Correct. There is no pollen filter on the 350Z.
  7. The one man kits don't work with the Nissan caps as it's not a conventional screw fit. You can't get it tight enough to stop the pressure bleeding out. Conventional two man job, remembering that there are eight bleed nipples on the Brembo calipers, and Nissan recommend a multi pump and hold before opening the nipple as opposed to the normal single stroke each time.
  8. How many miles in those two years G man?
  9. There is an additional OEM version that was on the options list that had a brushed aluminium panel along the flat part. You can see them here: http://www.courtesyparts.com/nissan-interior-door-sill-kick-plates-brushed-aluminum-piece-set-350z-p-19412.html?cPath=714_881_1238&
  10. Side indicator lens. Good to go, same/next day I would assume...
  11. You can get aerosol spray paint mixed up at your local paint factor. Just google them in your area and they will have the mix on a database from the Nissan code. If you're desperate for a 'rattle can', you'll have to order it from the good 'ol US of A.
  12. The only socket you would need is to remove the wheel. There's a wrench in the tool kit for changing the spare if you don't have any. Torque to around 110nm if you're fussy, but tight is tight, not worth buying a torque wrench just for that.
  13. Easy DIY job on Brembos, no special tools required. The only "interesting moment" you would have is if you had different pads on the opposite ends of the same axle. Sounds like they are trying to sell a set for the back with 'sales technique'.
  14. The trouble with the gold colour wheels is they can clash with the gold calipers, whereas when sports cars adopt the 'standard' red calipers, people don't tend to fit red wheels, so they stand alone as an accepted feature.
  15. Turn up to that special event completely alone in my one seat taxi... Wonder what he pays for his 'hire or reward' insurance. Be quick though, says his calendar is filling up...
  16. I imagine that's why they moved them forward for the revised 'face lift' interior.

    HR bonnet

The only difference with the bonnet is the hump. But on the 'HR' cars it was required to accommodate the different engine, even though it had a lower centre of gravity.
  18. I found that it may be a 'compatibility view' issue. With it switched on, some of the features don't work but the return button works, and vice versa. So I view with compatibility view off, and write with it on. Only seems to be an issue on this site unfortunately.
  19. That's because dogs have to be licensed, as they are a far higher risk. Nobody, to my knowledge, has ever been mauled to death by a domestic cat.
  20. Thanks for that Russ. Coming from a long line of Italian metal myself, that was epic. Lancia: "Kings of the road, Lords of the forest".
  21. The Op's in the south-west, Abbey itself is closer than TDI.

    991 GT3

Not really clued up on Porsche, so why isn't it a 998? I thought they were going in a sequential style, unlike say, Ferrari, who swap about with displacement figures etc. for their series names. Or did they get to 999 already and are starting again, if they did I need to pay more attention.
  23. Brake fluid every two years, standard Nissan coolant every three years.
  24. Knocker throwing? That's a bit extreme....
