  1. If I'm reading that correctly, and assuming you will be off the road for a good few months, are you going to sorn it before monday? Get seven months tax back to spend on more goodies...
  2. Something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sports-car-lo ... 1c03a75335 Or if you already have standard ramps, this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CAR-RAMP-EXTE ... 43a5440d63 Depends how low it is really. Can't see it getting under £50 for full set though.
  3. Yep, repeated at midnight if you've just missed it.....
  4. No internet banking, but employs an 'agent' to pick up his purchases.... If nothing, they are entertaining. Just sad that a large element of the population need to scam/rob/abuse the rest of us to make their way.
  5. 1. Removing massive orange fairground reflectors, and installing 'factory look' venting. (Not just mesh accross the back of the hole, but raised form, and recessed covers behind to mask engine bay/washer bottles.) 2. Standard exhaust tips don't protrude equally, no damage, no adjustment, just appears to be made like it.
  6. I'll take one, thanks Cookie. Not sure if your payment details were on any of the many threads, let me know Paypal etc, and I'll get it done, cheers.
  7. Plug in unit generally, easy as changing a fuse. Just locate the right one. I've just looked at mine (08), and it isn't by the battery, so you will need someone who's been there to give you an idea where it is, may be under the dash somewhere. Failing that, always worth checking the contacts in the motor before splashing out on a new one.
  8. Cat D and 82% feedback, for that price I think I would look elsewhere for a straight one. Shame. Don't know about the red interiors.
  9. Based on a Nissan service recommendation of 9k between services, pushing up to two a year for 11k is hardly excessive, or massively so. You should always use a top quality oil if you can, which at least meets the manufacturers specification, and as it does no harm, changing more often is always preferable to stretching the service intervals, if only by a couple of thousand miles.
  10. If you just want to plug in an MP3/Ipod, something like this: http://www.maplin.co.uk/3.5mm-stereo-ja ... code=L44AU
  11. Try this place Amy. Oilman is a trade member on this forum and will always give good advice if you need it. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/ General consensus for a performance oil is Fuchs (formally Silkolene) Race Pro S. It's an Ester fully synthetic, and you are correct, the grade should be 5w30. If you sign up as a forum member you get a discount on quoted prices, and they are generally running a sale or something like free delivery, so worth looking out for. Always buy the best oil you can afford, and twice a year is perfect with your mileage.
  12. These specific recalls appear to relate to '07 models, slave cylinder and alarm control module. Came out in April '08. See bottom of page 1 on this thread for copy of notice. viewtopic.php?f=28&t=13584&hilit=+recalls
  13. Better duck Chris, I can sense a 'search' bomb approaching.....
  14. The recalls are for the slave cylinder and alarm control module. It's surprising that it's slipped through the net as the owner would have been notified years ago. Mine was done in 2008. At least the garage highlighted that it had not been done, thereby giving you the chance to rectify the situation for free. Whether you agree to additional work is entirely up to you. The clutch is mileage and abuse related wear, therefore no way of telling from your post whether it is even in the ball park area of normal failure. If it's been sat for three years and done a thousand miles, it probably doesn't need a clutch. Either way, it's nothing to do with the recall and it's probably worth shopping around if you feel that your clutch does need attention.
  15. This is a great event for anyone looking to advance their skills from a basic diy wash & polish merchant. Lots of good information and advice, dispels a few myths too. I won't be going again this year, but thoroughly recommend it to anyone else with an interest in detailing. If you do go, the entrance is from Lamport Drive, Brunel Close is a dead end under the trees.
  16. Slightly off topic but mentioned by the op in post 1; Is the 370 ved band L then? As I have just paid £460 (band M) for my 350 HR. Twenty odd horse power more and a small clean up in emmissions I guess.
  17. I deliberately leave the battery separate from my spare key so that it is not run down should I need it. I have tried it after a good year or so with no problems whatsoever, so clearly there is no 'time delay' on the 350 keys. Next stop Timpson.....
  18. £600? Talk about sublime to rediculous. Perhaps he is thinking: "There seems to be a lot of interest in these discs, I could make a killing here!"
  19. Yes, got them on my 313. Simple fit with self tappers.
  20. Maybe that's where the masquerading as an RAC man at legoland helps.......
  21. Not the bolts, straight through the pipe. And they want the platinum from the cats, not interested in anything else.
  22. Somewhat missing the point........ Height issues aside, they are removing the cats for scrap value, not to sell all pretty and polished. Angle grinder or ripsaw do the deed in seconds, they're not concerned about lifting the bonnet and easing all the nuts for half an hour whilst they put a brew on.
  23. You could try one of these, that dollar price is in your ballpark. viewtopic.php?f=117&t=52963 From the write up's, appears to be a lot of exhaust for the money, without the chav soundtrack.
  24. We over-nighted at the Etap in Reims last winter, and I would recommend it if you are just looking for a cheap, clean, secure over night stop. It has a Japanese feel about it, the rooms are pod like, a lot of curved moulded units. More importantly it was very clean, had a toilet and shower and was excellent value. It is also just off the motorway as it is aimed at travellers/business people, so easy and quick to find if you've been driving all day. It is also within easy walk of both restaurants and fast food outlets to suit your time/budget (on a retail park type area). Perhaps more importantly it has a secure car park. Circled by chain link fencing (although not high) and a gate which is closed at night, which you can open with a code to suit your arrival/departure times. No kettle though!
