OMG! Nightmare situation to be in.

Time for new rear tyres. So I visited Manchester Tyre Services in Openshaw again. http://www.manchestertyreservicesltd.co.uk Not posh, but a nice clean family run outfit who've just got a new ramp installed. Most importantly they have a Megamount Smart machine! This is how the machine looks in action. No clamping of the fragile lips on my LMGT4s and much less risk of damage during breaking the bead So if you're around Manchester and get stressed about finding a good tyre fitter I can vouch for these guys

Is it like this? If so it was very common. Happened to mine within warranty too. Needs regrease of CV joints if so.

This is what prompted me to change the tyres on our Mini Rubber seemed to be cracking. They were Chinese EVERGREEN tyres though Maybe PROPER tyres would have aged better. Got Uniroyal Rainexpert 3 now I'm older and wiser

Wife's tyres had plenty tread left, but at about 6 years old I thought best to change them out. Whilst there I heard the fitters saying how a lady wanted a puncture repair. They'd noticed the tread pattern was a very old design and upon checking found they were EIGHTEEN years old! She'd bought them elsewhere as part worns earlier in the year. Surely this shouldn't be allowed to happen or am I being overly paranoid about her impending doom?

Car looks BETTER than new. The striping on the carpets is the icing on the cake

Consider it a blessing. Better than a blow out or wrecked wheel. Hopefully it's repairable and won't cost too much to fix

Wife and kids away for a couple days. An opportunity like this is very rare. She'd not be best pleased having wheels take up the kitchen floor!

Seeing as I had the afternoon off all to myself I thought I'd prep my rims for the winter So I jacked up the car. Nismos off. OEM Tourings on. Washed rims. Dried. Fallout remover (IronX) Rinsed Tar remover (ValetPro) Wash and rinse. Clay. Wash and rinse. Dried with a towel and put in the kitchen awaiting bone dryness. Must be getting old as I found it a hard slog in today's heat. Then off out for drinks with the lads. Just come back and given them an IPA wipe down. Not looking too bad after being run daily for 10 years Off to bed now. Will coat them with Gtechniq C5 in the morning

Car looks showroom fresh in that pic! I too got my zed from new back in 05. We should start a thread to see how many 350z owners who bought new are still on the OC with their Zed's. People always told me how foolish I was buying new......how much depreciation I'd get hit with. Sod em all. Worth every penny. I bet seeing your zed wearing its LMGT4s and Nismo kit in glorious red paint amongst a sea of new Mercs, Audis etc makes you feel the same. Here's wishing you and your zed many more happy years together oh yeah.... HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY to her too
