  1. The image in the background looks terrible Even if the engine is fantastic, if the new Zed looks like that I wouldn't be interested even if it was cheap.
  2. Ahhhh the 80s A friend had an '85 Toyota Corolla GTi in white back then. Also had a red pinstripe. In fact i may be imagining things but didn't all the white hot hatches have the red accents? Renault 5GT Turbo Novas and Astra's etc
  3. Oooooo..... totally forgot you had the headlight test ongoing. I polished mine few months back and was seeing if weekly application of Optimum Optiseal would fair better than my Gtechniq C4 I applied last year. Alas no So I'm looking forward to your side by side test results
  4. I then did the rear of my zed with it too Clicks below
  5. Seeing as you don't want to go down the machine polishing route, I've had very good results by hand on very neglected black paint using Soft 99 Scratch Clear Wax When I first saw the ad I was like "yeah.....right!" Then I tried it on a friend's neglected black paint using the same method as in the YouTube video just rubbing away until the polish disappeared. Did a little video with the left door untreated. 5 mins of rubbing on the door on the right and these were the results. Click on the below
  6. Can't wait for spring to see the Work rims you have waiting to go on. Don't know how you've resisted not putting them on already.
  7. Damn that was a beast!
  8. Oooooo...... looking very tasty basking in the sun there! I want to know what colour you've got down on the paperwork for your Zed now. "Colour.........YES......LOTS/ALL OF THEM"
  9. Normally I'm a silver rim kinda guy, but those darker rims match well with the red. The last pic is the glossiest I've seen your car so far
  10. I have the strange urge to reach into the screen and feel the slick finish on those glossy rims!
  11. Those rims remind me of the turbines on a jumbo jet. Ready to suck in, chew up and spit out any fool who gets too close
  12. What a tool I can just imagine the kind of pictures he'd post up on dating websites using the same lame excuse!
  13. Fed up not having time during daylight hours to give the zed a wash I dug out my 4 portable cob led worklights and gave the zed a clean under my garage pir security light. Just a presoak, 2bm wash and a 50:50 mix of Sonax BSD and Chemical Guys V07 sealant as a drying aid Got a 20w rechargeable portable workload below left and 3 battery powered ones like the one on the right. These cob LEDs are the nuts and really illuminate a wide area well.
  14. £300 is what I call A RESULT! I don't think you could get any cheaper. Maybe we should have a thread of who has had the cheapest insurance on their zed.
  15. Amazing how painting the mid section of the front makes it look so much meaner
  16. Welcome to the OC
  17. Looking good. Those rims in that colour really set off the car. I agree with cob1980 on that photo too. It's almost as if they colour coded the building in that pic to colour match your Zed
  18. Welcome to the OC. Nice to see a zed finding a good home. I too have an 05 zed with similar mileage. They may be a bit old but have something timeless/classic about them unlike a BMW or Merc which after 13 years will have been superseded by a sea of 2 to 3 newer models.
  19. Cars looking good. Hope you find a worthy replacement
  20. Looked like a wrap to me when I saw it. Was very clean but didn't quite have the depth of reflections that paint with clear coat has.
  21. Spent last week in HK. Didn't see many interesting motors on my travels this time except for this Merc. It was parked next to a standard one in one of the poorer market districts. These would have cost 2-3 times the UK price due to hefty prestige tax even before modding! The 2 cars really stood out. I would have take more close ups but was worried about offending the owners in case they were of the dodgey triad type
  22. Welcome to the OC
  23. Welcome back to the OC
  24. Much nicer now. Should have come like that from factory
  25. It looks like you either have hurculean strength or the W brace did indeed fail the "buster" test miserably. Will have to check mine later. I know it sounds a bit dumb but if my brace only has surface corrosion and is still ok, would I be able to tell by simply giving it a little knock with a hammer to check it doesn't deform or crumble?
