  1. Great heads up Question 1 Is it as simple as just prizing this plastic cover back like in the pic Question 2 WHAT BENIFICIAL PURPOSE DOES SUCH A BOGUS MUD TRAP SERVE?
  2. My experience with Hydr02 was despite it being the easiest sealant to use EVER, I didn't find it as durable as C2v3 using "my routine" Reasons for me choosing these 2 were speed and ease of use. For the reason of lack of time and speed i didn't have time to do a full decon. Paint wasn't really bad so no clay or paint cleanse etc. Just wash and dry. Hydr02 only lasted a few weeks this way for me. Also works out alot dearer than C2v3 with 100ml only being enough to do body and rims maybe thrice. I also only used storng hose pressure to spray off Hydr02. Maybe with a full decon and a pressure washer to rinse it would fare better but I don't have the luxury of this. So for me it's C2v3 for my paint and rims. How about running a little of the old RainX alongside the screen protector as a baseline Mr Ilogical?
  3. Years ago pre zed similar happened to me at the gym car park. A friend caught someone trying to drive off after denting my wing. Boxed him in, called me, followed by me and a dozen black belt clad "ninjas" running towards the perp. We drove him to his flat to prove his ID. NO INSURANCE! I took his car off him until I got the quote for repair and the cash off him. This was in my "young and angry" days though
  4. Love this reply! SuperStu....you da man
  5. About 15 yrs ago I was coming off the M602 in Manchester. On the slip road was greeted with a car coming head on the wrong way! Single laned slip road on a bridge. Nowhere to turn. Just slammmed on brakes and gripped the wheel! Luckily we weren't speeding as when we collided head on it was just bumper wings and radiator damage!
  6. Looking very SHINEY Must make you want to pop the hood to check the oil on a daily basis just to ogle the new shiney bits!
  7. http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=338187 The dent is on the front wheel arch near the edge. Didn't know how to just copy the image so have posted a link to the thread on DW.
  8. Car park etiquette should be the same as URINAL ETIQUETTE. If I'm taking a pi$$ and there are 5 free urinals either side you'd better park your a$$ at least one space away or I'm gonna be on edge ready to pummel you as soon as you get TOO CLOSE
  9. If it was me I'd only say yes if the price wasn't too steep. Look up the reviews of the ceramic coatings from the likes of Cquartz and Gtechniq on detailing world. You can buy and apply yourself but as they are more "permanent" than wax or regular sealants, if you mess up and over apply you can only get rid of the smearing with machine polishing. So, once you know what product you want, negotiate a price that you think reasonable for the labour and see what the detailer says. After all it would be a shame not to take advantage of the car being freshly polished in a secure detailing bay instead of out in the elements on your drive.
  10. Totally random YouTube vid. So simple yet so effective way to cut cherry tomatoes FAST!
  11. Congratulations on your new acquisition. I too am eager to see pics of your new chariot
  12. Looking good there. Your work, your pics and the sunshine really show the sunset orange to it's full potential. If any colour can pull off the BGW the sunset definitely can
  13. oops....my bad. Been a while since I had the need to refer to the specs in the manual. That discounts option "B" then
  14. Just bought 3 cans of Castrol Edge 5w30. Last week of the offer!
  15. ......and going off topic Why the hell sell oil in a 4litre can? I'm sure most cars take 4-4.5l grrrr
  16. So the zed takes 4.2 litres for an oil change and I usually supply a 5l can of Mobil 1 but now aquired Castrol Edge which comes in a 4litre can. Would you A. Give them a full can and a separate plastic bottle containing 200ml B. Just give them one 4 litre can and carefully top up the final 200 ml or so at home. or C. Not be so anal and just hand over 2 cans and take the remainder home for next time. I hate being so paranoid. Used the same highly recommended garage for years but still worry someone may take a fancy to my oil and it not end up in my zed
  17. If it is brake dust and alloy cleaner ain't working try fallout remover to remove embedded iron particles. By far the best is IRON X by Carpro. Spray on. Leave for 5 mins. Gently agitate with brush if stubborn. ZERO elbow grease
  18. In the first few pics the blue door and blocks in the wall are SO large I thought I was looking at the most realistic SCALE MODEL/TOY Zed I'd ever seen!
  19. Wife out with the daughter. Toddler son having his nap. Rain stopped. Perfect! Nipped out to wash the zed for tomorrow's meet. 5 mins later.......pouring down....grrrr. Sod it. Carried on and finished a 2BM wash. Stripped off wet clothes for a nice cuppa. 5 mins later and it's bleedin' glorious sunshine again. Hopefully the 5 mins of rain after I finished rinsing is enough to stop any water spots.
  20. Also check the machine is not out of order before applying your prewash:lol:
  21. If you feel too embarrassed bringing 2 buckets with you try this. Bring 3-4 2 litre pump sprayers(£3.50 at Asda) filled with shampoo, a pre wash spray (eg Demon Machine Rapid Dirt Shifter) and your mitt. Pop in pound and pressure rinse. Cover car in prewash spray. Wash car with your mitt in right hand and a constant stream of clean shampoo from your spryer in left hand. Due to lack of rinse bucket the prewash and constant stream of shampoo will help to lube the surface and reduce grit. Then pressure rinse. Try just doing the rims with a pump sprayer and wheel brush/mitt first. It will be faster and less IN YOUR FACE easing you into not feeling so embarrassed. Also go when it's quiet. I do it at night at Tescos before my shopping when I don't have time at home .
  22. I feel your pain. Drove my brand spanking new zed home from the dealership. Get home and the front of my Nismo bumper scraped as I tried to enter the drive! Luckily I was going slow and stopped. Only a slight scratch on the underside. Finally found 1 safe angle onto the drive.......phew. Hope your plan works out :tumbs:
