  1. Welcome to Zed ownership. Glad you found the OC. This forum adds so much to the zed experience, congratulations on the car and welcome aboard.
  2. I had alot of teething problems too when I got my zed. And that was new from the dealers. Rattling boot from a loose bolt securing the Nismo wing. Clicky rear axle. O2 sensors throwing the EML light on. Boot struts failing. Then O2 sensors AGAIN. Then clicky axels AGAIN. Literally all throughout the warranty period I was popping back between services. Did my head in. Thankfully since warranty expired in 2008 and going to an independent for servicing all I've had regarding repairs was a brake light switch I replaced myself and a steering wheel clock spring sensor to stop flashing airbag light. She's my daily driver but I only now do 3-4k/yr. 11 years old on 49k now. Amazingly the garage says there is very little corrosion underneath compared to many younger zeds they sservice. Even my original exhaust flange and W brace are holding up well. Probably due to me regularly jewashing the undercarriage. I reckon bushes etc need doing soon as I am starting to hear some creaks and groans over speed bumps.
  3. That sounds like alot of hurdles you are having to deal with to get where you want to go. Looks so easy on the F&F films. Overnight parts from Japan. A few sessions in the garage. A few Caronas and a BBQ and hey presto...a 10 second car!
  4. Looks like you'll be enjoying this summer
  5. Looking good Something very therapeutic about cleaning your car. I did mention this to the missus years ago asking why she didn't clean the kitchen while I detailed the car so she may experience similar joy. Neadless to say it didn't go down very wel
  6. Congrats and welcome. Don't forget to post pics on arrival........LOTS OF PICS
  7. The youth today are spoilt for choice in the hot hatch arena. Even the coming Seat Leon Cupra trumps my DE having 290bhp and 0 to 60 in 5.7 seconds. But I wouldn't swap my beloved Zed for one. Not so long ago 280bhp was the reserve of the top turbocharged line ups from Japan.....Supra's, RX7's, Evo' and Gtr's!
  8. Now if you had filled it up with diesel that would be a mega fail.......or worse.......my mate today put 1/2 litre of screenwash in the petrol tank of his H reg 911 Can't imagine how he managed that one as hes been driving nearly 30 years
  9. The zed should run fine on 95 ron as long as you keep the revs lower as it is more of an issue when revs are high if I remember. If I were you I'd drive it normally keeping revs below 3.5k to be extra safe. When nearly empty fill up with premium and enjoy the rest of the rev range
  10. The side steps look sweet. On a Range they actually come in really handy getting in out too
  11. This reminds me of the saying "Life is like a pen!$ Simple, relaxed and hanging freely IT'S THE WOMEN THAT MAKE IT HARD"
  12. Happy days. This warrants a change of username for the day to HAPPYGriff
  13. Partners should be given a copy of "An ode to a Zed" to fully appreciate it's importance in our lives. "THIS IS MY ZED THERE ARE MANY LIKE IT BUT THIS ONE IS MINE MY ZED IS MY BEST FRIEND MY ZED IS MY LIFE I MUST MASTER IT AS I MUST MASTER MY LIFE WITHOUT ME MY ZED IS USELESS WITHOUT MY ZED....I AM USELESS I MUST DRIVE MY ZED TRUE I MUST DRIVE MY ZED FASTER THAN MY ENEMY WHO IS TRYING TO SMOKE ME I MUST SMOKE HIM BEFORE HE SMOKES ME........" Tell her it ain't just a car....wheels and steel. But a suit you wear like a FULL...METAL ...JACKET!
  14. Scratches along the whole side driving against bushes. Left door untouched. Passenger door sorted in 5 minutes
  15. http://vid272.photobucket.com/albums/jj181/andyten/Mobile%20Uploads/20160422_135737.mp4 If you ever get marks on the paint try Soft99 Scratch Clear Wax. This vid shows how I sorted a door on my mates 2006 Vogue in five minutes by hand with little effort
  16. There's something very reassuring about the door handles on a Rangr Rover. Whenever I get into my mates Vogue and pull on the handle I get that feeling of ruggedness and indestructability. Enjoy the new ride.
  17. Deffo not your average wife. Years ago I upgraded my mum's tv from a 21' to a 32'. 1 week past before she even noticed as we programmed the old simplified remote to match! Then there's the total opposite. Girls at work were chatting. One mentioned how good her husband was......."He proper loves me. For my birthday he got me a huge tv and cinema surround sound " another example of a keeper me thinks
  18. I would've taken pics if I had a waterproof galaxy 7 edge but alas I only posses a mere S3
  19. I've followed your lead. Had a rotten 24hrs emptying my flooded cellar. Gave it a last suck with the vax. Dehumidifiers on. Then went to clean my rims. IN THE DARK with my portable spotlight. IN THE RAIN in my hoodie. Feel better now
  20. Geeeez.....that sounds like one hell of alot of b@llache. It's one thing to have to spend so much moola on a project and another to be left hanging with no optiins or solutions offered. Hope everything goes good with either Abbey or Norris.
  21. Leaving it too late to correct someone, meaning you must live with your new name forever This is so true. My friend called someone Eddie for a year until I told him it was ERIC
  22. You need one of these. Ultimate car security. .....tried and tested
  23. A warm welcome from another Cheshire member. Although I have a Cheshire post code I'm more S.Manchester really in Cheadle. TT350 mentioned a meet on the last Friday of the month if you're interested.
  24. My independent (Lockwood and Greenwood in Manchester) sourced an ebay one for me. It looked similar to the one you posted. They fitted it for me but warned if I did want to fit it myself not to twiddle or twist it before fitting or it would break. So no twiddling when you get yours Hope you get one in time.
