  1. Almost got a yey from me until the rear end shot..........PORCSHE!......oh dear. Maybe without the vents on the bonnet it would be less busy as the rivets are already a bit too much.
  2. Corrected my fading headlights last year. Put a coat of C4 afterwards. Alas the cloudiness started to return. So unless I didn't apply correctly it's lasted only a year. C4 has lasted well about 4 yrs on my Mini's abundant exterior trim but alas fairs less well on the lenses. The new oxidation was minimal and was removed with Meg's metal polish by hand in a couple of minutes. I'll reapply with C4 and maybe top up with C2v3 every few weeks or so when I use it on the paintwork. Thought I'd just post up my experience in case others were expecting years of protection from C4 on lenses.
  3. +1 on Lockwood and Greenwood. They have seen and serviced more Zeds than any Nissan dealer in Manchester garanteed! Been taking my zed there for past 8 yrs. Timing chain has no set replacement time as far as I know unlike timing belts.
  4. The words "knob" and "delicious" in the same sentence.... dangerous! ........only if preceeded by the words "here's a video of me enjoying my....."
  5. I wonder if anyone has tried paint protection film on lips. I know it would only be the the dished surface and not roll onto the outer edge......and then there's the join line........BUT, it could stop the pitting on the most vulnerable surface where stones and brake dust get battered about like in a tumble dryer. That also leaves a much easier outer edge to maintain with regards to polishing and maybe using a sealant like Gtechniq C5. You can tell I really love how these rims set off your zed and would miss seeing you with them on
  6. Long life exhaust for you. Bose noise cancelling headphones for her. Match made in heaven
  7. Thanks for posting. Great pics
  8. Knob and rims look delicious
  9. Hi Matt. With those Volks being so damn fine........probably the sweetest rims to adorn a Zed, would it not be an idea to get some OEM 18' Rays for winter. I saw some on an Azure that were painted white and they looked pretty smart. You could probably bag a bargain on some battered 2nd hand ones with tyres knowing that you're planning a refurb! You could then get a glass plate and use the Volks as a feature coffee table in the lounge
  10. When I did the pedal dance fpr my flashing light I got no faults recorded too. Took it to my independent whi diagnosed and replaced a faulty clock spring. Problem solved. Not too dear if a second hand one can be found. Cost about £100 including fitting.
  11. Ooops. Double post.
  12. Welcome to Zed ownership. Glad you found the OC. This forum adds so much to the zed experience, congratulations on the car and welcome aboard.
  13. I had alot of teething problems too when I got my zed. And that was new from the dealers. Rattling boot from a loose bolt securing the Nismo wing. Clicky rear axle. O2 sensors throwing the EML light on. Boot struts failing. Then O2 sensors AGAIN. Then clicky axels AGAIN. Literally all throughout the warranty period I was popping back between services. Did my head in. Thankfully since warranty expired in 2008 and going to an independent for servicing all I've had regarding repairs was a brake light switch I replaced myself and a steering wheel clock spring sensor to stop flashing airbag light. She's my daily driver but I only now do 3-4k/yr. 11 years old on 49k now. Amazingly the garage says there is very little corrosion underneath compared to many younger zeds they sservice. Even my original exhaust flange and W brace are holding up well. Probably due to me regularly jewashing the undercarriage. I reckon bushes etc need doing soon as I am starting to hear some creaks and groans over speed bumps.
  14. That sounds like alot of hurdles you are having to deal with to get where you want to go. Looks so easy on the F&F films. Overnight parts from Japan. A few sessions in the garage. A few Caronas and a BBQ and hey presto...a 10 second car!
  15. Looks like you'll be enjoying this summer
  16. Looking good Something very therapeutic about cleaning your car. I did mention this to the missus years ago asking why she didn't clean the kitchen while I detailed the car so she may experience similar joy. Neadless to say it didn't go down very wel
  17. Congrats and welcome. Don't forget to post pics on arrival........LOTS OF PICS
  18. The youth today are spoilt for choice in the hot hatch arena. Even the coming Seat Leon Cupra trumps my DE having 290bhp and 0 to 60 in 5.7 seconds. But I wouldn't swap my beloved Zed for one. Not so long ago 280bhp was the reserve of the top turbocharged line ups from Japan.....Supra's, RX7's, Evo' and Gtr's!
  19. Now if you had filled it up with diesel that would be a mega fail.......or worse.......my mate today put 1/2 litre of screenwash in the petrol tank of his H reg 911 Can't imagine how he managed that one as hes been driving nearly 30 years
  20. The zed should run fine on 95 ron as long as you keep the revs lower as it is more of an issue when revs are high if I remember. If I were you I'd drive it normally keeping revs below 3.5k to be extra safe. When nearly empty fill up with premium and enjoy the rest of the rev range
  21. The side steps look sweet. On a Range they actually come in really handy getting in out too
  22. This reminds me of the saying "Life is like a pen!$ Simple, relaxed and hanging freely IT'S THE WOMEN THAT MAKE IT HARD"
  23. Happy days. This warrants a change of username for the day to HAPPYGriff
  24. Partners should be given a copy of "An ode to a Zed" to fully appreciate it's importance in our lives. "THIS IS MY ZED THERE ARE MANY LIKE IT BUT THIS ONE IS MINE MY ZED IS MY BEST FRIEND MY ZED IS MY LIFE I MUST MASTER IT AS I MUST MASTER MY LIFE WITHOUT ME MY ZED IS USELESS WITHOUT MY ZED....I AM USELESS I MUST DRIVE MY ZED TRUE I MUST DRIVE MY ZED FASTER THAN MY ENEMY WHO IS TRYING TO SMOKE ME I MUST SMOKE HIM BEFORE HE SMOKES ME........" Tell her it ain't just a car....wheels and steel. But a suit you wear like a FULL...METAL ...JACKET!
  25. Scratches along the whole side driving against bushes. Left door untouched. Passenger door sorted in 5 minutes
