Black 350z sat under tree cleaning advice please?
HEADPHONES replied to skidder's topic in Car Detailing
I'll second tar remover as the first line of attack. Years ago my uncle rang me for advice on tree sap on a brand new car left under a tree over the summer holidays. "It's so stubborn even t-cut has only managed to remove a small patch on the bonnet after an hours har graft!" Alas the tar remover melted it away effortlessly revealing a nasty dull patch in the middle of the bonnet Why do so many people decide to "experiment" with products bang in the middle of the bonnet -

Amazing how something small subtle and discreet can compliment a big boot spoiler so well -
I would have waved but I was on foot crossing the road and didn't want to come across like some random crazy person approaching waving my arms about like a zombie from Evil Dead

Thick as thieves ...... Or just Thick Thieves
HEADPHONES replied to d95gas's topic in Off Topic Discussion
When the Audi TT first came out my friend got one. One evening door bell rings. He opens the door to a gun in his face. Guys barge in. Beat him up. Gather all the valuables in the house. Tie up his girlfriend while making him go out with one of them on a spending spree at cash machines andoff licences using his cards. Return him home and take his TT! Dumbass ring leader was caught next day driving said TT through town, wearing my mates leather jacket with his wallet, ID and cards inside. Bear in mind the TT had only just been released and stood out like lighthouse beacon on Manchester roads. -
Anyone remember this scene........what happens when you don't have secure wheel nuts!
-
Who needs a baseball bat when you have a long torque wrench  Only kidding Coldel I have actually been guilty of not torquing the nuts on one of my wheels way back. Same thing........braking at a corner and felt a rumble/vibration. Needless to say I always double check now. Once I had a Honda dealer replace a snapped suspension spring under warranty and FORGET TO TIGHTEN THE BOLTS! A mechanic friend spotted it when he put it through an MOT shortly after.

Thinking back it definitely leaves some kind of protection down coz I experimented using it as clay lube. I was too slow and it dried out on the roof before I managed to wash it off. Had a sticky residue left that wouldn't budge without clay I will have to dig it out now you guys have reminded me and use it after a wash when I'm not using Gtechniq C2v3. But then I'm wondering if it would be detrimental to me adding further coats of C2v3 a few weeks down the line eg layering C2v3 before complete failure may be better without the "contamination" of the surface with Demon Shine. Alas I often think tooooo deeply upon such trivial things......maybe should get like Nike and "JUST DO IT"
-
I remember way back loads of people on DW were buying up Demon Shine from the supermarkets as if it were BLACK MONDAY! I even got carried away and bought 2 x 5 litres from Halfords during a 3 for 2 offer. Still got over 9 & 1/2 litres left

Involved in an accident while stationary
HEADPHONES replied to se350z's topic in Off Topic Discussion
During my hot headed twenties I had a similar case. Car stationery. Guy caves in front arch on my Prelude but then tries to do a runner. Friend blocks him off. We drive him to his house to verify where he lives. I took his licence off him. Took his Saxo VTS as a courtesy car. Then he paid the the quote Honda gave which ended up about £800 and he was expecting a couple hundred. Gave him his car back and parted ways. Unless I was sure I knew where he lived there would be no way I I'd trust him to pay. -
Mighty fine looking chariot there Olldykins Sets off the original OEM18's a treat. Always had a soft spot for the standard 18s. Got an immaculate spare set in my garage. Been there for 9 yrs and I haven't had the heart to sell them. Have a great day tomorrow with your newly wrapped zed.

New owner from Hull
HEADPHONES replied to maximum Triceratops's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
I've always had a liking for Subarus. Actually think they look nicer than Evos Anyway. ....welcome aboard and hope you love the zed as much as your Subaru. -
Good to see another NW owner. Welcome to the OC

After 11 years I still gaze affectionately as I approach or leave my zed. Even on a mundane commute there's a reassuring comfort from snuggling into those oh so familiar seats, turning the key and celebrating that the air bag or engine lights switch off as they should Cacooned in a world of Zedness with just your tunes, the rumble from the exhaust and the gearknob tickling your palm as it vibrates characteristically to the touch. Not luxurious perfection but unmistakably A ZED

Rears are definitely wider. Lips are slightly deeper on the rears. I don't know the exact figures but when I took mine off to detail them the rears ARE wider.

Tiny and discreet. Once paired to the phon the only inconvenience is pressing the button for 3 seconds to switch it on (has auto off ). Once button is pressed it pairs with my S3 automatically in less than a second. One charge lasts me a week of commuting. I even managed to buy mine for a tenner from Sainsbury during a sale! -

I saw a programme where a car stealing crime boss bragged about how easy it was to defeat a tracker. Guy has a signal jammer the size of a cigarette box that jams the signal so he can take cars to containers off the radar! Disklock gives a little extra security.
-
That's actually THE BEST place to get a screw if you had to get a puncture:lol: Well away from the sides and dead centre. I suppose it's only a lost cause if the tyre had gone completely flat and the alloy's rim had damaged the sidewalls. Hopefully a nice cheap fix

Ceramic pro looks like what you're after. Seen a couple of their studios in Malaysia. Should be some in uk too.

Mods beginning to show their age you say? Still looking damn fine in those pics. Maybe the only thing showing their age is my eyes then! I'd better get down to specsavers.

Hi and welcome. Nice to see another Manchester member. If you are ever on kingsway A34 during a commute look out for me in a Sunset Orange coupe
