I was fed up of the messy aux cable going to my phone so now I plug a small blue tooth reciever in the aux which connects to my phone wirelessly. It disconnects and switches off automatically once out of range. Only hassle is charging once a week and pressing the on button for 3 second to connect to phone each time.

Baby on Route > > > > Time to Rethink Cars!
HEADPHONES replied to monkeybrain1234's topic in Other Cars
Having the zed as a daily commuter is so vital to me keeping my sanity being a father of 2. Many people I knew told me it'd be illogical to keep my zed 8 yrs ago when first kid came along. Totally the opposite. As many will know, being a dad means WITHOUT A DOUBT your life and free time is going to change drastically. BUT you will normally always have to commute. Monday to Friday I leave to go to work. The stresses of fatherhood evaporate as get into the zed. It's guaranteed ME TIME. Just me, the zed and the sounds of the V6 and my tunes. I almost feel like it's a time capsule where I feel as young and free enjoying the drive now as I did 11 yrs ago before kids. So if the finances allow.....this is deffo the way to go. So what if it makes more practical sense having a 4x4 and a Micra instead........a man needs a little luxury in his life. For the odd occasion you find voth you and the missus need kid capable cars theres always mini cabs. -
Welcome. My postal address is Cheadle Cheshire but I've always considered myself South Manchester :b

The higher seating in a 4x4 will make getting baby in and out of car seats much easier Due to my missus bad back this is what drove us to get one when number 2 came. Her back was much much better. Also it's totally normal to want to protect your kids as much as possible. Our family car was the 4 seater Mini until baby 2 was 6 months. Then got a Kia Shortage. 5 years on and I prefer using the mini around town to ferry the kids in but feel too vulnerable in it on long motorway trips and use the Kia. Fortunately I can run 3 cars as the mini is peanuts to run. Also being old means I pay less than a grand to insure the Mini, Kia and Zed The mini boot is soooo small any rear impact would see them squished -
Winter isn't too bad in Manchester. Over the last 11 years there have only been a handful of occasions where the Zed stays at home and I use the wife's mini or public transport. In fact I worry more about manic Christmas shoppers dinging my Zed at shopping centres and supermarkets than getting stranded in winter. So during the Xmas shopping season my Zed is barred from shopping/retail parks.

If you are happy with OEM sound and looks, you may be able to just weld and repair the existing system at an exhaust place. Years ago a fellow zedder I knew got it done for about £50

Goto 6 mins and watch the engine oil lift clean off!

Welcome aboard. Always good to hear of another addition to the NW -
Water will collect where my boot spoiler meets the boot. When you open the boot this will flow up the rear window and drip down the sides of the rear quarters. Although I have a larger Nismo rear wing I'm sure you would get similar on a standard rear lip spoiler.

L&G have been servicing and maintaining my zed for the past 8 years. You can even get a courtesy Micra if you give enough notice. Can't fault them for servicing or repairs

That's a good heads up for those with a ticking problem

It slides under no problem. But on jacking the arm will catch on my Nismo skirt near where the "Clarke" label is. To solve this I just use a cloth folded on the jack pad to give an extra 1cm ht

Can't beat a good 5 spoke design

If I was looking for a place in Manchester I'd ask these guys. They seem to be really popular with most detailing related stuff and should be able to point you in the right direction. I've never needed his services but known him since he was a kid as I worked with his sisters. Passionate and a decent bloke. Gets loads of work and not heard a bad thing about him.

Car is looking sweet. From what I can see, the rims look in really good shape too. I've seen rims on 15 & 16 plate cars with more gouges and scrapes!

Black 350z sat under tree cleaning advice please?
HEADPHONES replied to skidder's topic in Car Detailing
If your car has a recent coat of wax/sealant and you find yourself having to park under a tree in the summer on the odd occasion.......fear not.....no need for a full on assault. If you wash it quite soon after ie not 2 months like my uncle you can often get it off just with a nice warm shampoo -
Black 350z sat under tree cleaning advice please?
HEADPHONES replied to skidder's topic in Car Detailing
I'll second tar remover as the first line of attack. Years ago my uncle rang me for advice on tree sap on a brand new car left under a tree over the summer holidays. "It's so stubborn even t-cut has only managed to remove a small patch on the bonnet after an hours har graft!" Alas the tar remover melted it away effortlessly revealing a nasty dull patch in the middle of the bonnet Why do so many people decide to "experiment" with products bang in the middle of the bonnet -

Amazing how something small subtle and discreet can compliment a big boot spoiler so well -
I would have waved but I was on foot crossing the road and didn't want to come across like some random crazy person approaching waving my arms about like a zombie from Evil Dead

Thick as thieves ...... Or just Thick Thieves

When the Audi TT first came out my friend got one. One evening door bell rings. He opens the door to a gun in his face. Guys barge in. Beat him up. Gather all the valuables in the house. Tie up his girlfriend while making him go out with one of them on a spending spree at cash machines andoff licences using his cards. Return him home and take his TT! Dumbass ring leader was caught next day driving said TT through town, wearing my mates leather jacket with his wallet, ID and cards inside. Bear in mind the TT had only just been released and stood out like lighthouse beacon on Manchester roads. -
Anyone remember this scene........what happens when you don't have secure wheel nuts!
-
Who needs a baseball bat when you have a long torque wrench  Only kidding Coldel I have actually been guilty of not torquing the nuts on one of my wheels way back. Same thing........braking at a corner and felt a rumble/vibration. Needless to say I always double check now. Once I had a Honda dealer replace a snapped suspension spring under warranty and FORGET TO TIGHTEN THE BOLTS! A mechanic friend spotted it when he put it through an MOT shortly after.

Thinking back it definitely leaves some kind of protection down coz I experimented using it as clay lube. I was too slow and it dried out on the roof before I managed to wash it off. Had a sticky residue left that wouldn't budge without clay I will have to dig it out now you guys have reminded me and use it after a wash when I'm not using Gtechniq C2v3. But then I'm wondering if it would be detrimental to me adding further coats of C2v3 a few weeks down the line eg layering C2v3 before complete failure may be better without the "contamination" of the surface with Demon Shine. Alas I often think tooooo deeply upon such trivial things......maybe should get like Nike and "JUST DO IT"
