It's amazing how incidents like this can leave us boiling even days after the event. A similar events happened to me over 10 years ago. We both pulled over into a blockbuster car park. We both got out and the other driver stood in front of me, arms back, chin up egging me to try to land one on him. Unfortunately or probably fortunately my boss had given me strict warnings that any unsavoury behavior even outside work that may get reported would end in my career finished. So I backed down despite being almost handed a guaranteed KO on a plate. And I FELT LIKE A RIGHT KN@B. So I now just take a deep breath and say WOOOSAAAA

I had similar transparent protectors on our other car. I just took them off as every time I detailed the car they stuck out like plasters ruining the smooth lines. 5 years later and no regrets.

Ouch! How pi**ed would you be?

Early on in my motoring history I had an "E" reg Nissan Sunny 1.3L Gear box was shot. Went into an independent garage for a 2nd hand unit to be fitted. Garage phoned to say work was done, come and collect as the mechanic was just taking it for a test drive. When I arrived back end was caved in as a bus had run into the back of it on the test run. Garage said it was a write off as the car was only worth £800 at the time. But they could see it was detailed to death and my pride and joy so put a replacement back hatch and bumper on doing their best to get it back to original. Not sure if £12k was a reasonable pay out but in this case the garage should definitely be trying to go the extra mile to see him back with a Boxter of similar condition and worth even if the insurance company doesn't. -
Good to hear the saga is over and you're happy with the repair. Point noted not to bother with such companies in the event of an accident.

Oh no! I know of guys like that Someone similar used the same tactic to get chatting with my mate getting him to let his hair down. Roll on a few weeks and chatting cars turns to brainwashing and a full on conversion to HARI CRISHNA. My mate used to look like Ozzy Osborne. Now looks like GHANDI :b -
Oh..... and the rattle may be the clicky axle syndrome. A pretty cheap easy fix Can't help with anything else I'm afraid. Good luck.

The good news is your oil pressure sounds normal. Mine is just under 1/4 when idle warm. Rises to 1/4 when warm idle with ac on. When warm it'll be at 1/2 doing 30 in 3rd / 40 in 4th / 50 in 5th so on. When cold idle is nearer 1/2 way and shoots up under load JUST LIKE YOURS

Try quotes on a standard zed. Some companies won't quote on modded cars but are cheap on standard. Maybe if prices were very good on standard with NO BLACK BOX you could bung a cheap OEM 2nd hand box and filter in for a year til you can get quotes from companies requiring a years ownership before quoting better prices.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you it will be a cheap fix.

Yep......I had that on my diamond cut Kia rims Corrosion where the lacquer has failed and "white worm" is creeping in. Kia replaced the rims under warranty. I got a feeling you have three options. Leave as is Full refurbishment. Polish off the lacquer to bare metal meaning very regular polishing of the lip as it will oxidise like a bugger with no lacquer on. Hope I'm proved wrong. Ps. If it was me I'd consider a refurb without a polished lip but maybe a shadow chrome type colour lip giving the lacquer a better surface to key on to.

You can also try a different job description. ......like clerical instead of business analyst. Obviously you can't take the peepee and put down church bishop if you're a club dj

For me I wouldn't go with the cheapest if I had to use a fitter I didn't know. So many people myself included have had rims damaged by fitters with a casual attitude it's stress I don't need. As long as the price was not extortionate I'd rather order the tyres and take them to the fitter of my choice.

So not only a quick fix but no parts needed so FREE too

I was quite happy with my pics but very impressed with your results. Stu.......where's your GM in front of the foyer flanked by the post lights? It's gone not available. That was my favourite of yourGM. Looked worthy of a scene in TRON Veegee.......your results have inspired me. I've ordered a 3000 lumen Cree torch and going back next week some time along with a friend for round 2 Showed some friends your pics and they all thought you had a massive light rig to light up the cars. They couldn't believe it was just a couple of pocket torches. If I didn't see the torches in action I wouldn't have believed it either -
Get someone to check if your brake lights come on full power when you depress the pedal. If not it's the brake light switch. Happened to me. Ordered the part. 2 min job to change.

Thanks for sharing your little pearls of wisdom Veegee and choosing a fantastic spot. I shall be revisiting that spot for sure Nice to see you and Stu in person. I will now be searching for a couple of powerful Cree torches to help with those long exposure shots -

Getting paid whilst enjoying a drive in the evenings listening to some tunes sounds like a plan I have visions of you being the Dominos equivalent of that French film Taxi. Tearing round Manchester People won't be getting their pizzas cold and late for sure

Totally agree.......fugly Made even worse in the pics as the angle of the list make the rear wheels look smaller than the fronts
-
Thanks for that. I immediately thought of clay mitt too ........even though I've already got one

From what I have heard over the years you could go cheap with a Japspeed and hope that fitment is good (as some have a headache getting it to align properly. Or go up a notch in price to a Scorpion system (slash cut tips only but no reports of drone on cruising) Cobra do a comparably priced system with a choice of OEM style rolled tips/slash/titanium (many report a drone at about 70mph when cruising) For a little more you get alot choosing the Invidia Gemini available with OEM style rolled tips in stainless or titanium tipped. Then up another notch to maybe something like the Ark Grip (looks the business from the rear with twin resonators) Visit traders here for prices etc

Wow. 350z-uk has gone posh. GOT A DRESS CODE FOR MEETS NOW! Black is all good though. Now if you said we all had to come in lycra shorts and crop tops you'd have me worried. -
No two relationships are the same. Only you know the whole story and I'm sure you thought long and hard before making your decision. Try to stay positive.
