;) touche mate haha. It would be perfect if you could get a mixture of both a qs and an architect. As in my honest opinion i deal in facts and make things practical while the architects have or know the value or futurism and design. Put that together you've alot to offer.

I design stuff for an OEM.

Mostly I work on headlamp design and am lucky enough to get to travel the world (been to Japan twice and many other countries too) as well as driving competutor cars and prototypes for evaluation on the public road and test tracks.

Much as I bitch and moan it's not a bad job really.

Ndt tech (gamma/x-ray welds for oil companies) sounds cool but its pretty crap and hrs are pants too. But pays for the 350z and that's what matters :)

Anyone hiring? Looking to go to a different country to get a away from depressing Aberdeen haha

Automotive upholsterer. :)

Prior to that, and alongside it for a few years, I worked for the Tax Office investigating fraud!

Got any friends still there? I work in International income tax

I own/joint own 3 companies.

1 relocates professionals from all over the world to the UK. Professors, Judges, Lawyers etc.

Another is a domestic recruitment company that recruits for wealthy families in London/Europe, all positions, house managers, maids, nannies, security etc.

Lastly, I half own an IT recruitment company, 99% IT Security with GOV/MOD contracts. We signed this last week so happy days, my most exciting project yet.

Busy but manageable. Work more hours than ever BUT, my own boss which is heaven.

Remember, when ever you are buying something or working, you are making some other person profit......I wanted to shorten that list so set up with 2 colleagues 2 and a bit years ago.

However I am unemployed at moment as my previous (Junior Web) didn't work out...

If you know anyone who looking to recruits that roles at any company or in-house business, let me know!

Happy to work in East Sussex, Croydon or London.

Lots of variety in looking back at this thread - only noticed one member say they worked in oil & gas but know for a fact a few do.

I myself work as a fiscal & allocation measurement specialist - 15 years offshore in total with stints in Norway, Africa & the middle east before getting a cushy 2/3 rota 40 mins out of Aberdeen.

In short, if it involves intercompany transfer or taxation of oil, gas or waste water \ combusted hydrocarbons, I have a fair degree of involvement with it.
