Excellent choice,

Cheers Rich :)

saw the production line for the xj in October with my engineering students. Impressive kit level

Do you know if Husky still works there ?

yes he does, but not linked with the XJ production.

Well had a drive out for lunch today and first impressions are:

It's big

It's fairly nimble

It turns in more sharply than the Merc

Lots of toys including rear camera and tv

The sound system is LOUD

The massaging seats feel a bit weird

I like the heated steering wheel

It won't fit on the drive in the usual place (see photo below) - I have to park it where the Aston is

you need a bigger driveway

I'm gonna have to park it in the front drive lol ... trouble is it's on view there - either that or block the garage (which wifey wouldn't be pleased about)

Not usually a fan of Jags but I have to say that does look really nice. Love the wheels. I must be getting older :surrender: Is it just me or are those callipers tiny?

Right Hugh I need some details on spec and extras please although I know it is going to make my Jag look like a pauper edition

Well Dave, I think it's got everything except a dipstick - It's a Jaaaaaaguar 3.0D XJL Portfolio in dark blue with blue leather - June 2010

Yea I'd say nearly Bentley standard for the interior ! ... Can't fault it

Posted

That looks great  Makes my interior look somewhat from a previous era or two.

Well I think it probably was ... I know a lot of the Bentley design engineers moved to JLR when the GTC was finished and took a bit of Bentley with them

Saw one of these Jags today in the flesh whilst I was on my way home. Have to say it looked fantastic especially the rear lights which had like red side markers at the top corners. B)

Had a real presence on the road & looked very modern. ;)

I saw a woman trying to park on in Sainsburys a few months back, I actually stopped and watched for what seemed like 5 minutes

I suspect they are the OEM tyres, as they have the J marking on them. I think you can also get Contis with the J rating too, although exactly what ones I'm not sure.

Looks the muts nuts Hugh. Always love a Jag.

Had many even back to a MK10 when I was 17

bought for £20, and many MK2 / Daimler V8 and and a 4.2 E-Type convertible

and a V12 Hard Top..

Then had at least 4 or 5 various iconic XJ6 and an XJR,

So had a few Jags....

Got the passenger headphones working today (just needed 2 tripple A batteries) so now I can listen to Rock or Bust whilst looking at the satnav and wifey can watch Coronation Street on the tv
