  1. Love this, a friends XFR has the Spires exhaust too, sounds great.
  2. Nice work, love solution finish. It's not something I have to use all of the time but is a life saver for heavily faded trim as dressing over that just creates a temporary sheen.
  3. You can get the rayon pads and car pro ceri glass is what I use to remove scratching on glass but it's tricky and you have to be careful with heat.
  4. Another thumbs up for the AD08's I have had them fitted for years and the wear rate is very good, still good if your sensible in the wet and not the road noise of the a048s.
  5. Any updates on this Chris? As per usual the advice on here is spot on with clay, tar removers and also fallout removers. I had this in recently, owner tried everything to remove it, freshly painted then left under a tree. I tried chemical decontamination to no avail and clay didn't touch it. I ended up wet sanding it as it had etched into the freshly painted panel but still removed it.
  6. Had the privilege to try most of the modern hot hatches and own one too so feel I'm worthy of chipping in. I tried a friends new rs when it was in for detailing and im not a focus rs or st fan (tried the mk2 when it was released loved the engine but not much else) I was really impressed, sure the seating position is high, interior abit cheap in places but it drove so well, I liked the steering weight, engine feels torquey only downsides for me being picky were pedal heights for heel and toe (brake is high compared to accelerator so had to go old school side footed) noise isn't a patch on the old one and the clutch felt springy. I couldn't buy one for image I don't think but considering I own a Renaultsport I would take one over the newer meganes, had a mini gtr feel to it. I also spent sometime detailing it so get to look in depth at a lot of parts and build quality is good apart from all the contamination they get delivered with. I'd take one over the mustang and I really like American muscle cars.
  7. Gutted Adrian I did the goodwood run, would of been great to have a chat, was in the new gt3rs
  8. Thing is with the proper setup and tools etc it isn't cheap. The coatings can cost £130, insurance, paint depth gauges, the time taken etc I think the £400-£600 range is fine for that amount of work, it takes time to do properly and safely.
  9. I'll forgive you Dan on this occasion í ½í¸€ I just saw the s decal on the side.
  10. Thought more of you Dan 3.8rs lucky bloke.
  11. The actual product isn't tragic but the dealership won't apply it properly, it takes me 1-2 days to prepare a new car. I prepared a new car in a day at a dealerships their 2 valeters kicked out 36! Normally get around 40 minutes timeframe on a car. No product will stop you scratching and needing to polish, proper products and techniques will help stop scratches and marking, a protective coating makes it easier to wash and gives some protection from wash marking.
  12. Not worth optioning at a dealership can be had on eBay for peanuts, far better products out.
  13. Dc2 is a great shout. I run an r26r megane and used to use my r26 on track before getting the r26r, very very capable track cars with minimal mods. I found the 197 a little flat, the weight compared to the 172 and 182s makes a big difference. S2000 is also a great car with a bit of money spent.
  14. Such a shame this is mint but don't blame you on the gt4 very rare opportunity.
  15. Im fully qualified for this having spent quite some time in both and its F10 M5 for me all day long. Im not really a BMW person but what an impressive thing the m5 is. For me it does everything better and feels less hot rod than the E63, the amgs really should have a far better gearbox by now as the rest have moved on, the dct in the m5 is very impressive in auto and the paddles are lovely to use, the heads up is also a nice addition. The steering is vague I think in both, I prefer the tech in the m5 where you can configure your own driving modes etc. I find the amg feels more loud and aggressive most of the time where the M5 feels like a very comfortable well thought out saloon that's a nice place to be but then when you put your foot down is jaw dropping. The e63 is louder and more obvious from the outside, I quite like the fact it can be driven round with only true petrolheads knowing most think it's a 520d (debadged, black and letting the exhausts get filthy). It also feels a good chunk lighter than it actually is and turns eagerly. Also having detailed both, the m5 seems far better engineered to me, with the engine shoved as far back as possible, the front of the engine is inline with the centre caps on the wheels, also the suspension and ducting from the bumpers, it feels far more than a base 5 series with a big engine.
  16. Great results, looks like a fun day out í ½í¸€
  17. Lovely, big fan of the gt4, got 3 new car protection details to do on the spyders.
