The Bounty Bar Kid Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 I put up a gazebo to clean mine but it's still way too hot for a detail. So I just washed and dried. Quote
spursmaddave Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 I think the hand car wash guys wear caps in the summer, not noticed any other difference 1 Quote
370Ad Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Luckily after 3-4pm half my drive is shaded so I do it then Quote
cs2000 Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 I just clean it in direct sunlight and deal with the heat. Oh, and spray myself with the jet washer... Quote
choptop Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Gazebo idea above is good. Personally, I just wait until it gets a bit cloudy than I clean mine Quote
Ekona Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 I don't. Well, I'll do the truck in the heat (I did it this lunchtime), but I don't bother doing my cars as they'll just get covered in spots and I can't be arsed spending time chasing them. Much better to do it correctly when it's cool, then at least you've got the protection for when you can't wash it due to the weather. Quote
AliveBoy Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 I dance around in a mankini spraying the hose vertically to keep me cool. Bit of a soapy sponge wringing over my chest and I'm nice and chilled, car is still a mess though. 6 Quote

Pnthrblkzs Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 My car is in the shade until roughtly 11:00-12:00 so i get an early start. for quick in between washes i've recently started using hand wash guys too. Quote
mattross1313 Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 I washed it last night, but didnt start until around 8:45 as it was too hot and sunny. Once the car has cooled in the shade for a while its business as usual Though I do have 3 gazebos in the garage i could have just done like you BBK - top idea. Quote
Dave-350 Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 On hot days I'm not lame and wash my car, I go to the pub and drink beer in the sun, you should try it! Problem solved. Quote

Don't really fancy going to the pub by myself. All my mates are at work. Also nearest decent pub requires a bit of a trek. One hour walk to get to. Quote

ilogikal1 Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 I generally don't. I stick it in the garage until my drive is in the shade and it'll get washed then. 1 hour to your local pub? Oh dear! Any pub that has cold beer is decent! Fixed that for you. Quote
Will370z Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Usually wait till it gets cooler out of direct sunlight. But if i have to in the sun then its do a couple of panels at a time then dry down to stop the water marks which are a real pain in the ... Quote
