Located centrally and incredibly easy to find, large 20+ car parking available all to ourselves. Held a few meets here and always a good turn out. Lovely opportunity to catch up with fellow Z enthusiasts old and new. Wanted to get something together during March, but seems a busy period for most sadly. Or £10 for reserved parking... Quote
davey_83 Posted March 13, 2019 Author Posted March 13, 2019 They've recently started charging for parking on the weekends *£5 also in order to park all us lot, we'd need to be there for 8am as it gets real busy!!! Don't think a few of us would be happy with parking on damp grass either. They possibly may look to increase the hard standing parking area, but at present a regional club meet might not be practical. Quote
14N Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 C&M would be a great location for a meet, but it would be impossible on a weekend. They're a victim of their own success. It's hard enough finding a space when you're flying solo, you've got no chance of parking as a club. And yes, they're now testing a £5 parking charge which will obviously have an impact on numbers but until they sort their parking situation out (with hard standing space), then it's simply not an option for a club meet (not on a weekend anyway). 1 Quote

I guess the charge is to cover the cost of adding more hard standing parking area which isn't cheap - they would have to sell a lot of coffee to pay for that. Quote

Yes, plus costs for the teepee, additional staff, the new coffee machine, Marshall’s etc etc. The Midlands has been crying out for something like this and the popularity of C&M has highlighted this. I think it’s popularity has far outreaches expectations. Its definitely worth a visit and there’s always interesting stuff there (the food ain’t bad either). The parking charges are only applicable on the weekend, which is understandable. Ill shut up now as this is a meet/event thread not a ‘C&M’ one 1 Quote
