Named driver for 10 years..

I've been driving my parents prestigious cars since I got my license. Now it cost me an arm and a leg to be a first time policy holder. I went on those websites to get a quote and rang a few insurer. Cheapest quote for a 350z is roughly £600 just for social purposes under 5000 miles.

However I want to keep my current car as well. With 2 cars it would be well over £1200 just for insurance alone.

Is there any insurers anyone can suggest that might do a better deal?

£600 doesnt sound to bad if you ask me, i am paying £350 or so for a 5000 mile policy, although supercharged i am an old boy at 45 with 15 years no claims.

Have you tried admiral multicar?

Admiral wanted to fit a blackbox in the car and I'm not the type of driver that keeps to the speed limit.

Well stand by £600 being a pretty reasonable price with effectively no no claims etc Good luck, pays to just ring round all the specialists in the insurance section.

That is pretty reasonable given you havent been on your own insurance. Try some of the specialists, I had this same problem a few years back and they gave me a couple of years bonus because I had driven my Zed, VX220 and Skyline under my wifes name.

Considering the thousands you've saved over the past 10 years by defrauding the insurance companies, I think £600 is pretty reasonable for zero no claims on a 300 bhp RWD car.

And being the type of driver that sticks to the speed limit would mean no additional costs for points - just sayin'

I might remove the post as it implies im frauding the insurance companies. But it isnt fronting when im not the main driver. They have driven more mileage than I have in any of their cars.

Just remember there's nothing wrong with not owning a car, being insured as a named driver on the insurance and doing the most miles. It's only an issue if you don't tell the insurer that's what you're doing.

£600? I'd snatch their hand off.

£1200 for 2 cars is an awesome price if you ask me. I was paying nearly that just for my zed when I got it back in 2011 and thats with me having 20 years ncb. Even now, I cant afford to insure 2 cars, and so im having to sell my current car in order to move the insurance onto my new one.

We have 3 cars and my insurance for all 3 is £1229 I have no no claims for my zed either.

When I had my S2000 and my Zed I had my no claims on the S2000 as it was my daily I was keeping and I just insured the Zed with a 3k limit while it was advertised and it was about £300 for a year with zero no claims.

I was 33 at the time, clean licence and no accidents not that it seems to make any real difference.

lol, my first quote at the age of 25 on a Golf 1.6 2002, was £1500 pounds, 6 years later my quote on a 350z was £750 pounds with 6 years NCB, no other insurance would have me at a decent price, yet a 20 something year old from the country side or outside Londinium can get it at £600 pounds with 0 years no claims. Fair world if you ask me! Thats with a modded exhaust which is common on these cars as the standard ones are rubbish. and bigger wheels to keep the lump on the road. But hey what do I know.

No points, no accidents, no claims
