9 years ownership today!

Goodness me, haven't the last 9 years flown quickly :) . Bought my Zed on the 6th February 2007 and its still going strong. Well, I guess with just 23,744 miles on the clock it should be :surrender: . No idea how long I'm going to keep it for, could be anything from 12 months to 3 years. Still got a while to go to beat my record though, I had my Escort RS Turbo from December 1999 through to July 2001, although it did have 118,000 on the clock :) .

Almost 6 months for me :)

Loving the car and ownership. The longest I've kept a car is about four years - I think I'll be keeping the zed for longer!

I test drove my brothers new Audi TT 2.0 S Tronic yesterday, but I prefer my zed! it sounds better and has something special about it.

I also met my first forum member at a car meet yesterday also. Zed owners are all nice people it seems

Keep it.

I bought my Zed new in 2004 and its still going strong at 113k

Yes, there are a few who have had their Zed's longer than me, Bronzee has had hers since 2003, Mike (M13KYF) since 2004 I think and Beavis and Nixy are also 9-10 year owners, maybe a few more as well.

Congrats Pete, 9 years was my longest with my Focus, cost me hardly anything in 9 years.

What did you buy your Zed as a treat?

Not cost me a lot either, needs new front brakes and I had a new banana arm last year. I'm very light on my cars, my Escort cost me very little, just consumables and a fuel pump, was still on the original exhaust and Turbo....well built cars are Fords.

I bought mine new in 2005.

A few niggles whilst in warranty.

New boot struts.

O2 sensor.

Clicky axel.

Apart from that and routine servicing I've had

1. Replace faulty brake pedal switch. A cheap £25 5 min job (thanks to the forum's input)

2. Replace an airbag sensor behind steering wheel (clock spring). About £100 2nd hand including fitting.

On 48k.

Used as my daily for a 13 mile round trip to work but for past 7 years I use the kiddo mobile for weekends.

After a good clean it still mesmerises me seeing it under the forecourt lights when filling up.

If you WERE to sell up, what would you replace the zed with?

I haven't given it any serious thought really. P/X'ing it isn't an option as I wouldn't get anywhere near what I think its worth so because its running absolutely perfectly with no issues its best that I hang on to it :)
