    Nismo GT-R

I'd rather have something half as quick but twice as thrilling.
  2. You mean apart from the WRC team

I dread to think how much that's going to be. If a 370Z gets bumped up by £20K, how much do you chuck on the £80K price tag of a GT-R?
  4. I quite like the brand, it's maybe not that well known in this country but I 'get' it, if that makes sense. It's a bit like Red Bull and their branding of sports events, but aimed at motoring. At least, that's how I see it, whether or not that's what Block and Scotto were aiming at I've no idea.
  5. Just to note, it would be incredibly childish to add his published phone number to any kind of spam contact list you can find. Very childish indeed.
  6. Exactly. No car is perfect, but as long as you feel the good bits outweigh the bad bits then that's all that matters.
  7. I have a couple of Hoonigan stickers on the MX5, along with a bunch of others including a random penguin thing and Zingy. To be fair though, by doing so I've doubled the value of the car No worse than sticking any other vinyl on there IMHO, but it does look a bit odd just on its own.
  8. Disconnect water pump, apply 12v, does it spin? If it is knackered, and you need to replace it, then ask yourself this: What does the part do, and what happens if it fails? In this case it could mean your engine overheats and goes pop, so that should answer your question as to whether you should replace with OEM or a £50 eBay special If your coolant temps are fine, then I wouldn't worry about it. Engines get hot under the bonnet, unless you have other symptoms I'd not give it a second thought.
  9. He will have to declare it under "Have you had any accidents in the last three years?" line of questioning. Very poor advice from the Admiral person, as it's completely wrong. They do share info and he MUST mention it upon renewal.

    Audi A1

Mega bucks, mega dull. And I like Audis in general.
  11. That said, us big girlies will still be driving our Porkers when the TVR lot are stuck at home trying to glue their car back together again
  12. Zero point running it on NA cars. The whole point of water/meth injection is to reduce charge temps. Charge temps only significantly increase when you compress the air, as in an FI installation, as otherwise the air you're sucking into the engine is more or less just ambient in temperature. When you compress air it heats up significantly, which reduces the amount of power available. Intercoolers and especially chargecoolers usually sort this for a one-time-fit solution, however if you're running serious boost or live in a hot country then injection is a brilliant idea and goes that one step further. Unless you're losing masses of power due to heat soak when NA (and you'd need to answer why before going any further), then injection will not help you in any significant way.
  13. Right, serious time, I've gone in really high this time. No chance you'll outbid me unless you're prepared to break the dizzy heights of the two pound barrier!
  14. I've bid for it! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=321194578999
  15. It's been relisted, probably due to timewasters
  16. Thanks chaps. So what if you don't know the value of the claim? I'm thinking if you were driving someone elses car on their policy as a named driver. You may not necessarily get the full info of the claim, so would not be able to disclose to an insurer how much the value was. Would they count that against you? Would it be worse than if you told them the actual amount, assuming it was big numbers and you could actually find out? Yeah, one of those 'What if?' kinda questions. It's a slow day.
  17. Does anyone know if, when you declare you had a previous insurance claim, they ask you the value of the damage caused? And if so, does the value make a difference to the quote they offer you? For example, you might have just reversed your car into a bollard and the rear bumper needed replacing. That's the same accident regardless of a Fiesta or a Ferrari, but it might be £500 in the Ford and £5000 in the Fezza.
  18. There's nothing endemically wrong with them, just be aware that when stuff does go wrong it costs BMW prices to repair. They're more reliable than other similar cars, but they've also sold a bucketload of them so you're more likely to hear people moaning about faults.
  19. Now that is how to buy a practical car! GLWTS, good pics on the advert btw.
