Yeah, umm, oops! You don't want to see my phone bill for that night, apparently I called everyone I know!

Shame. Promising bit of kit otherwise. Thanks for the update though, very rarely do people bother and it's so handy to know how people get on with stuff once the 'wow' factor has gone.

First off, get the throw adjusted to the max legal limit. That will help massively. I run the Phillips X-Treme Vision on my MR2, and they're pretty good. Not a patch on HIDs, but about as good as I've found for normal lights.

987 Boxster S. Before driving one I hated the brand with a passion, then drove one and realised that they're actually stunning cars. Caterham. On a warm day they're immense, but on a cold one they're the most spiteful things ever invented. I never thought I could hate track driving in an R300 so much, but Combe at -3c changed my mind. Awful. Focus mk3. First two are possibly the finest shopping trolley cars you can buy, but the third is an absolute abortion of an automobile. Gutless, feels engineered to a budget, ugly arse end, interior is a mess of design etc. Vile. GT-R. Not driven, only as a pax at Anglesey, but it felt slow (relatively) and leaden. The interior was much cheaper than a £60K car should've been too with questionable materials, comfort, and ergonomics. I suspect the driver was being a big girl which explains the first part, but not the second. MX-5 mk1. Should be a slow, noisy, tinny old rustbucket. Instead it's a delight of feedback, delicacy, poise, and style. And rust.

I'm all for exact wording when it comes to insurance, but realistically you have just added a bodykit. Tell them it's a bodykit, send them pics to prove it, if they don't agree then you're stuffed. I'm betting they'd be fine with that, it's just that you've confused them now and they're thinking it's some huge OTT thing. If they're still not happy, well, that's just one of those things. Lesson learnt, don't use them again. And yes, I mean remove everything. If you do that, then there's no reason for them to cancel the policy. Unless you're desperate for that extra year of NCB (how many are we talking here?), then at that point I'd be cancelling the policy myself and moving to a better insurer. This folks, is why it's so important to speak to your insurers before doing anything to your car.

That'd double the value of the car Nah, I'll stay 1ZZ and make the most of that. Chucking too much more money at it would make it non-viable really as a cheap track pig, I think. It's actually in the garage as we speak, I think I've an issue with the brake master cylinder seals and don't have time to fix it myself before Anglesey, so I decided to get the garage round the corner to do it whilst I was away. They're also getting the windscreen replaced for me, as the crack was approx 1/2 the length of the thing

You need to do EVERYTHING you can to avoid getting a policy cancelled. If that happens, you will find getting any kind of insurance VERY difficult. It's right up there with drink driving in terms of folks who will want to touch you. If you have to remove the mods, that would be a better option. Your body work mods are basically a bodykit, and that's how I'd describe it to them. They may be more helpful if you're a little more obtuse with your description: Most folks on the end of the phone are just call centre monkeys. Also the exhaust is just an exhaust (don't try and break it down), and the alloy gators I'd just send them the link or call them wheel rim protectors. Or even better, just take them off and learn to park properly, 'cos they look awful!

See, that's the thing: As a buyer, I'm not interested in buying a sports car where the owner clearly doesn't care that much about it not to fix the tiny things. If he doesn't care about the small things, then he's certainly not going to care about the big things! Now, we know that's not true from your posts on here matey, but that's how it'll look to the outsider browsing your ad.

Lol you won't find that too hard down the back straight, I'll probably be quicker if I got out and walked!

You need to sort those bad points. O2 spacers for £30 will sort the CEL, you need to replace that dodgy bush and you MUST sort the pax window. Someone may take a punt on the first two but not before knocking at least a grand off in case they're wrong, but that window could be very expensive. It could also be very cheap, but as a buyer I'm not taking a risk on that. Either sell it for at least £2K under market value and suck it up, or get the car sorted!

Worth more in parts than complete, that's for sure. Depends if you have the time and space to do it, though.

Regardless of the result, it was a magnificent effort from Porsche. In their first year, to be leading after 21 hours is phenomenal. Looking forward to seeing what Nissan can bring next year (hopefully they'll sack the team that made the dreadful ZEOD RC), and Ferrari would be a welcome addition too. Sorry for the sudden lack of posting, 3G decided to pack up and a WiFi was being patch. Immense race, even better weekend, loved it. Roll on next year!

Yup, got Anglesey end of thus month, then Bedford in August, then Donny in October! How's yours looking now?

Currently sat in the Republique square after the driver parade, with a cold beer and totty spotting. Life does not get any better.

It's all about luck. I'm lucky my old man did the hard work before I came along, so I could tag along. Sure, I work damn hard myself, but it's only on top of his work. Or you could be in the right place at the right time, like my Dad was, and do it on your own. All luck.
-
I jest of course. That's not a great place to be, but you will find a way through. It won't be clear now, but it will happen. Everyone is here for you, internet-based or not, we're still your friends and will always be here.

It's beer o'clock, bitches!

All by myself

Bloody hell Russ, just glad you're going to be okay matey. My bro was off the road for a year following a seizure, didn't hand his licence back though as that just causes hassle when you want to start driving again. He got the doctors note telling not to drive, waited 365 days, got another letting saying he was fit to drive and off he went. Some folks have had hassle getting their licence returned from the DVLA, that's why I mention it. Time will fly though mate, it did for him.

Audi have confirmed that the car will be taking part in qualy tonight though...! Incredible. Marc Gene to drive instead of Duval though. On the train heading across the water now, seen a stickered up silver Zed and a bronze ragtop Zed at the terminal already

Looks awful, car is destroyed
