Your call. My only comment would be that you need to account for the unexpected, not the mundane. You may drive like Doris, however not everyone does and if it takes you an extra 30m to stop at 70mph, that could be the difference between not ploughing into the idiot in front and demolishing both cars. Or the tyre not coping with wear very well and you needing to change twice as often. There is a reason those tyres are cheap, though.
  2. That's the auction start price. Then you need to add import taxes, handling fees, shipping etc.
  3. Walking. Lots and lots and lots of walking. There are car parks, but get there early. Like two hours early, else you'll be queuing for aaaaaaaaages. Easy enough as you're staying down there. Get a programme early and decide who/what you want to see going up the hill, and plan the days around that. More walking. Do go to the top of the hill to get autographs and stuff. Don't expect that to be easy! Do take some time to watch the rally stuff down through the SS. Do eat early, as again queues get excessive. Don't spend too much time in front of the house with all the main OEM stands, they're usually a bit crap despite the glamour and they rarely have stuff you can't see by walking into a dealership anyway. Did I mention the walking?
  4. Good result, but GET THAT IN WRITING. Letter MUST say that the policy was NOT cancelled. If it says anything else, then you WILL have to declare a cancelled policy to other insurers in the future and just hope you don't get a call centre monkey. Glad you go everything sorted though matey, really pleased for you
  5. That looks so much better in silver. Would love to see some more pics
  6. Better than Van Basten's, IMHO. This is the Spain I remember growing up with. Great in qualy, shite in tournaments.
  7. I don't think it ever will, tbh. People don't want Jap sports cars any more, they want hot hatches or German diesels. Nobody wants an uber-Scoob, nor an R35 covered in Japanese writing inside, and the BRZ86 isn't getting any more popular until they release a full power version of it. The Jap import scene was big years ago because you couldn't buy those cars over here full stop, but now you can get OEM warranty-backed versions here so there's no point in trying to save a few quid with the risk/hassle involved IMHO. It's a shame perhaps, but the world has moved on.
  8. You will be fine, you've not been disqualified. My brother went through all this himself, so I know this for fact.
  9. Ah that makes sense, thought you were doing away with it altogether! It does suck, but that's probably why the other company were cheapest in the first place. Who is the laid up policy with btw? Very difficult to get hold of nowadays.
  10. Why would you cancel the insurance? It could still get nicked, burnt out, damaged etc.
  11. They've not charged him though, have they?
  12. Will knows a lot of people in motorsport. If the guy gets anything other than a caution and maybe a fine, I'll be amazed.
  13. Unless you were being sarcastic, in which case I apologise as I've completely missed it!
  14. Well, would you prefer it if I lied? I don't think 350Z selling prices have changed much at all in the last 12mths, indicating that prices have stabilised and are not dropping any more. That's positive, is it not? Christ, some of you people really are painful to deal with.
  15. It's summer, people are getting all optimistic. I doubt actual selling prices have changed much.
  16. Yes, look at the redline. 6.5 for DE 7 for DE revup 7.5 for HR
  17. 100% your fault. No insurance liability for the parked car at all. The law says that the person who parked the car can be responsible and charged under something like driving without due care and attention, but as far as insurance goes it's 100% your responsibility not to hit another vehicle. If you had to drive on the 'wrong' side of the road to do that, then you should've taken precautions like driving slower or getting someone to see you out. If the other driver is to blame, then they should've been moving slower to make sure that there was not another car coming round the corner before turning in. As much as I despise bad parking, it's correct that it should never be the fault of an unattended and properly secured vehicle in the case of an accident. In your case, I'd be having a quiet word with the person that parks there (it's almost always the same one, isn't it?!) or calling the police every day you see it parked there on the non-emergency number. Eventually, they'll get fed up and do something about it, and that applies for either party.
  18. Almost certainly a write-off. Sorry
  19. Indeed, shame they're wrong
  20. You lose 6ft/lbs but gain 33bhp AND 1000 revs in the HR. You almost certainly won't feel the loss of 2% of overall torque but you probably will feel an increase of 12% in power, and you'll DEFINITELY know about the extra revs! How anyone can make a case for the DE being the better engine is beyond me.
  21. I tried to find you on the way back from the parade on Fri night, but got hopelessly lost in my drunken stupor so ended up back at my tent about 4am
