Sounds like somebody walked into it and mover it out of place by a cog, you shouldn't damage it by "gently" moving it back into position, I had the same thing and providing you don't force it back it s OK. as above move it back, it sounds like a ratchet mechanism when you move them manually, done it myself before and works fine as will says

I know what you're getting at but personally that massively varies. Depends on the condition of the roads that it's being used on and how close to other vehicles in front the previous owners have driven imo. Definitely a valid thing to bring up though as rightly so if it's particularly low mileage you would have thought it unlikely to be so stone chipped that it needs a respray but you never know. Just thinking if it isn't for stone chips then it leaves cosmetic or damage repaired mate

any other pics of the front ? what miles are on the car, has it done enough miles that it would need need a respray due to stone chips ? the grill and the horizontal plinth behind the number plate should be black, most people black the fangs

It's obviously the early cars that dropped that low and maybe not enough were sold so at that price the demand outweighed the supply pushing the price up
