  5. Easy - its in each member's profile under personal messages - icon says disable messenger - something to remember, me thinks
  6. We have always seen at the Wales weekend, for example, some have to pull out in the last week and most have let us know - absolutely fine and has given the opportunity for reserves to take their place. It's the no news either before the event about pulling out or the lack of news/apology afterwards for not attending when organizers have taken the trouble to set something up that is not only plain rude and can disrupt the event itself, but as we have seen above ^^^^ discourage future meet organization. There are precious few who have time to organize events and we simply do not want to lose them due to timewasters. But it is also a message that says if you do get known to mess organizers about then don't be surprised if your name gets taken off an entry list, particularly when spaces are limited.
  7. That's the point - letting those that matter know that you can't make it
  8. For now, it is a reminder to those who haven't appreciated something that for the vast majority is the obvious.
  9. Perhaps the question ought be along the lines if anyone does not want their reg displayed to post Mark in the next 'X' hours with their reg no, before he posts his pics up? Frankly I don't understand why this should be an issue - it's not as though we drive around on public roads with our reg numbers covered up........
  10. Firstly, this post should not be necessary, but sadly some bad manners have crept in. We have all found that despite best intentions there will be occasions, for all sorts of reasons, we have to drop out. A lot of hard (unpaid) work will go into the organization by members to make these things happen for others. So when entrants don't turn up that might mean: 1) The event/drive is delayed; 2) If the entry list was full, others who could have made it have lost out; 3) There is concern by those who have arrived something untoward might happened to the member on the way to the event. So if you find yourself in the situation you are not going to get to the event please let the organizers, or someone else who you know is attending, that you can't make it - we all have mobiles these days and it only takes a call/text/pm/thread post. Yes, there will be occasions when making contact beforehand it is just not possible. But it would be good to hear afterwards that the member is OK and an apology was offered for their absence. As I said at the start, I'm sorry for the need for this post but if a member is seen to do this all too often then don't be surprised when their name gets deleted from the entry lists.
  11. When you jack the car up (before loosening the nuts/taking the wheel off), turning the wheel should reveal any 'rumbling noise'. Also, hold the wheel top and bottom and see if you can generate any play - you should feel movement and if in any doubt compare with the other front wheel before you start the bearing change.
  12. Sadly it is down to individual dealer as to how far they go to support your claim. Some seem to take the attitude that it is either too much hassle or they don't want to be perceived as irritating Nissan by continued claims. But at the end of the day it is like any 'insurance' situation where it is often the quality of the submission made by the dealer and how robust s/he is at fighting your corner. That is why there are lists of good and and not so good dealers on here that over the years have demonstrated whether they put the customer first, or otherwise.
  13. Who's got a (another) nice bonus coming then Good for you - I will have a replay of the race to see this petrified spotter But congratulations to Red Bull - deserved winners but boy, was your man so lucky to come out of being punted round without more severe damage Look forward to the pics
  14. You have to do what you have to do Sorry to hear you we're off your food Graham......
  15. Nice one Jenson Congrats to Seb and Alonso did all he could. What a race though - one of the most exciting I have seen.
  16. Ferrari to part fuel Massa - to get in front of Vettel............?
  17. Reminds me of this vid - yes its a repost but apt
  18. If its a level surface outside - push it having made sure the front wheels are straight - dosen't matter the handbrake is not on (wouldn't want that anyway). And if you are reasonably nimble by leaving the front passenger seat (and seat back) as far forward as it will go with care you should be able to get into the drivers seat via the rear hatch? Now I ain't tried that myself - but just an idea
  19. Good to have you onboard and thanks for that first post about the pop up hood light to help another member
