  1. Given you never felt the same love for the 370 as you have done for the 350 - that's fine, but the fact that Nissan released the 370 at the end of 2009 when the financial melt-down was really biting and all car sales were taking a big hit, as many forget, was undoubtedly the primary reason for 370 sales getting nowhere near 350 sales. Indeed, many 350 owners at the time did not enthuse about the 370 anyway (personally I found it a significant improvement over the 350 in everyday use compared to the 350), but as the years have passed by I have seen many doubters 'upgrade' to a 370, maybe to get a newer ZED or because it ticked more boxes than anything else the competition have/had to offer. And having since owned a 4pot turbo auto/AWD (Merc A45) - yes the performance/grip off the shelf was mind-boggling, but it was simply too easy to drive hence why I have moved onto a Cayman that is far more driver involved.....albeit with a 4pot turbo. Yeah, not what a true Porsche enthusiast would opt for maybe, but a combination of the chrono/sports exhaust certainly gives me the grin factor and turns heads when the rev needle spins round the clock... Be interesting to see if Nissan finally decides to produce a Z35 and hopefully in a format that maybe excites my juices enough to raid the piggy (pension) bank....... again
  2. Unless you are thinking of serious tracking and/or adding FI you will not need an oil cooler. The feedback about oil temps largely emanates from across the pond where ambient temps are generally higher. Just keep an eye on the oil temp guage and as long as it does not exceed 125 (and the oil is good quality) you should no worries. Enjoy!
  3. Nice intro You will find the original clickly axle thread in 350 Guides, but for many there is an alternative option here: Noting where you live, on last but one page of that ^^^ guide you will see one of our traders based near Rochester posted a great offer with having a service done there to fix the issue, albeit back in 2016. Not sure if that still applies but worth an ask. Highly recommend Kaizer and as a specialist and it would a good opportunity to have your new ride checked out ...........having bought with heart and not the head as you described Just a word of caution if your Zed is a rev-up model (March 2006 onwards) is to regularly check the oil level as they can be prone to early engine wear, not helped if fed with less than 98 octane. Keep us posted how you get on
  4. Good advice - rather than someone who has to ask "are the rears adjustable"?
  5. I had 25mm spacers fitted on my 370 and to be honest I did not notice any significant difference in the handling, either for better or worse. But they certainly helped the stance of the car......
  6. As Coldel says ^^^, but from what you have said I would suggest you get a specialist to sort out the handling/brakes first as without any power increase you are concerned with those and that should not be the case from a properly set-up Zed, albeit I would not expect it to be as 'nimble' as the GT86 due to the weight difference.
  7. Here is a roadster with no cage that has done a few laps around Knockhill in its time .......... And it is just a wee bit modified with........ Doubt it is for sale though.
  8. Looks a good buy for someone out there - good luck with the sale
  9. We can see you have been a member on here for some 3.5 years, yet having asked for opinions about tyres within just 24 hours you had decided to order a brand that you had not previously mentioned. I'm sure you will be fine on your tyres of choice as it seems you survived OK on tyres that can be described for use on ZEDs as 'ditchfinders'. However if you really enjoy spirited driving, Zeds they can bite very easily with expensive results as I have seen in many reports in the 13 years I have been a member on here and invariably when the tyres were questioned they have not been the best available at the time, or badly worn. As davey 83 indicates, relying on internet tyre reviews aimed mainly at everyday cars and certainly not small volume sales like the ZEDs is not the best way to make a choice, IMO. Yes, there are drivers who relish in the rear of their Zeds sliding around and not too bothered about tyre type - each to their own. During my time of Zed ownership (see signature) I experienced two types of Bridgestones; as well as Falkens, Vredestein and lastly Michelins MPSS. Tyre development over my ownership time got better but the MPSS were by far the best tyre, particularly in the wet, although I recall at the time the £1100 bill for 4 was a bit eye watering their longevity was excellent. I chose replacement tyres recommended by long term members on here, who like me I knew liked to really push on in their Zeds. I covered over 40k miles in the 3 Zeds I owned and much of that mileage was on organized drives by this forum, particularly in Wales and Scotland with plenty of spirited driving. On that note, just to lighten moment, one of my favourite pics leading a drive-out in Wales : If I were back in a Zed I would have no hesitation about fitting the MPS4 (18" wheels) or the MPS4S (19 wheels), going by the reports I have seen on here. So when you asked for opinions and you got responses very promptly I think those of us who did that can be forgiven for airing frustration that we wasted our time. That said, I felt you deserved an explanation seeing you also are taken aback by the responses, but the main thing is you enjoy your Zed on its new boots and as Zmanalex has just said, a 4-wheel alignment is certainly a good investment, something I made a point of doing every year or so as it can make a significant difference.
  10. Great pics and thanks for sharing on the forum Sounds like you all had an amazing time with some challenges along the way but hey, seeing all that scenery and enjoying some epic roads will have given you memories that won't be forgotten
  11. Link here for some good info on the GT4s When you scroll down, contact owner "Ken" as he keeps an up-to-date record of GT4 owners

  13. You have not said what your previous car ownership was, but if it has not been a relatively heavy sports car then it may well be you have to adjust to a transmission that is designed to suit the performance on offer rather than cars than 'everyday' cars which are designed for ease of driving. That is not saying you may have an issue as you will see from threads on the 350/370 clutches there have been issues, but not seemingly with the issue you are reporting. From my experience of 370 ownership I suspect the feel you are getting is normal, especially when the car is not warmed up. As this was your first post, you may not have seen there are trade specialists who service etc the Zeds and if you continue to be worried I would suggest you take it along to one of those for their opinion.
  14. But I am still drooling over this new Carrera even if over £100k as that one was specced....
  15. You could well be right - in the photo taken at Porsche Silverstone all the spaces in front of the temporary black hoarding are having chargers fitted, in addition to ones they already have.....
  16. Absolutely normal when temps drop - in fact if the change was not stiff when cold I would be concerned as to whether the viscosity in the box was correct. If you change the oil for peace of mind see here:
  17. Would I have an EV? Only if they are completely self-charging, ideally with a back-up cable should the electric motor(s) fail - rather like the sensible cars that have a spare wheel rather than a bottle of gel when the need arises. At least I can say when one is bought, I am 100% eco friendly not having to plug-in or fill-up for my journeys. And fortunate as I am to have a driveway and garage, I am buggered if I am covering my roof with "look-at-me' solar mirrors or put up a bloody great wind turbine to justify no use of the National Grid. But what also puts me off most EV's (the lack of 'proper' engine noise aside) and many other new cars atm, is the move towards touchscreens - the Teslas being a prime example. I put them in the same bracket as dashboards with multiple manual/digital operations - the new A class Mercedes being an example - which has been slated by the motoring press for good reason IMHO. The H&S lobby bang on about mobiles distracting drivers and that is absolutely right if they are not hands free, but if used genuinely as hands-free then is that really any different than chatting, playing eye-spy with the kids etc in the car? For me, touchscreens in cars fall in the same category as hand-held phones. An alternative then.....? I recall the frustrating voice connection with the 350s bluetooths - and the endless grumbles from other 350 owners frustrated by madam bellowing back "pardon" when trying to add a new contact. Years on and being an Apple user, there is now Siri - works OKish (the Porsche is better than our Polo), but I really feel that voice activation is the way our in-car communication should be going: i.e. talk to activate info/changes/send texts etc rather than hoping you have hit the right button or a point on a touchscreen. A simple fingerprint entry on start-up would avoid voice recognition issues. I hate the touchscreen feature on our Polo in particular with a passion - maybe it was just not designed for my jumbo fingers but by God, using it on the move really does take your eyes off the road. So I don't use it.....on the move. And once the Government sees tax revenues from road users going downhill as more EVs hit the road, coupled with demands by those who only have on-street parking wanting charging points installed in those roads, you can bet new tax regimes will be brought in to keep the Treasury coffers topped up! So, a self-charging car with voice activation will help get me in the EV mood and maybe that may not be too long to wait, but in the meantime I will stay with a proper driver's car and enjoy the Chrono and sports exhaust combination that gives me a real and is not being outlawed until well after I meet my maker. But I will try switching off a few more lights at home to help the NG meet the increasing demand from the growing plug-in crowd.
  18. Will the absence of headlamp washers be an issue at MOT time?
  19. See the following link and at 2.20 you will see how to add pis (and text) in a new thread you need to start in "Zeds for sale". If still stuck, see final offer of help at the end of that video. Good luck with the advert and selling what looks to be a very nice 370 Roadster
