  1. I use velcro both at the back and the front, plus two screws at the front, with both front plates drilled at exactly the same position. For the velcro, I've used four strips about two inches long on each plate, again at exactly the same positions. The velcro does get "tight" after a while so pulling a plate off should be done gently from one end. I keep the "not in use" ones in the car so that I can change over whenever needed....
  2. Thanks. There were no details in the Register so I've added a note....
  3. Dont suppose you got the limited edition number or the reg number did you? It would be useful to update the GT4 Register with "lost in action"! JK
  4. ahh but the mexico had the same slightly flared archs as the RS1600, but it was only the RS1600 and the preceding TwinCam that has the heavy duty B49 bodyshell that the works cars used....... And the BDA engine's were put together in the old Vincent motorcycle works in Stevenage, where I lived at the time..... My RS1600 was BB49KY42256! Its the *only* car that I still regret selling....
  5. So the Mexico wasn't a "proper" B49 bodyshell then!!
  6. Was the Escort a Mexico or a RS1600? I had a RS1600 but I thought they only came in white..... I'd almost forgotten about the RS2000 nose! Nice car....
  7. Story also goes that he had a really bad hangover / migraine and the noise made his head worse........ ... still, at least it didn't wrench his neck like the GT-R!!
  8. Get some dental floss and just work down from the top, breaking the adhesive as it goes.........

    where from?

Bigphil does it for me. I'm running Ferodo Ds2500s as a good compromise between road and Nurburgring! Ordered some on Friday and they arrived this morning!
  10. I'm reliably informed, by my dealer, that my lottery assigned position is the the first car they take delivery of next April..... I'll smile for a photo - if I can stop grinning.....
  11. Cant believe Ferrari want Alonso for next season - I'd love to be a fly on the wall when they discuss that with their consultant - a Mr Shumacher...........
  12. Took my 2008 Girlfriend (her description, not mine) to see it last night and thought it was great. Even the tacky lead-ins were good humoured....... Pierce Brosnan deserved an award for bravery singing like that! Mind you, I've also seen the stage show and sung along like most people in the audience...... Each to their own!!
  13. The NMGB car hasn't been to Dunsford for the Stig yet althout I understand its imminent. Top Gear magazine took it to the Isle of Man and managed to ding it by reversing into the Audi they had with them........
  14. That you're old! Just kidding. I love a bit of bread and butter pudding! He said Bread Pudding! Not that namby-pamby, lightweight, Bread and Butter Pudding. Bread Pudding is the *real* thing. You can use it as a doorstop until hunger takes over......
  15. I saw one in Weston-super(!)-Mare on Sunday 6th July! Though I'd found a mirrored building!! By the time I'd gone round the roundabout to follow it it had vanished....
  16. Hills Salvage had a re-furbed set with tyres for £850..... The re-furb was naff though!
  17. My son prefers LLamas!
  18. Get up to date! try http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=bBcIlIJYxMQ
  19. Tyre wear wasn't enough to notice - but I'm on those rock hard RE040 'Stones!! And may be I'm too slow......... At one time I'd picked up so much rubber off-line that the tyres were bigger than when I started!! The Z was built for it - Enjoy! And dont forget a trip report!
  20. Bingo! Blonde in the Roadster waved back today! Keep the faith!
  21. Regarding the traction control - once you start to push on a bit it can give you hiccups in the two carousels..... And last time I was there it was 10 laps to the tankful! (Approx 130 miles) Try and get someone to go round with first time, or to go round with you on a sighting lap........ Watch out for the white disk road markings on most (but not all!) corners. They guides to turn-in points and apexs!
  22. Dont give up waving!!! There are two Kuros near me a Coupe and a Roadster, both driven by nice blonde ladies - I always wave and flash - I'll wear them down eventually
  23. Just do the routine checks - tyres, brake pads, fluids....... I have competition brake fluid plus Ferodo pads but not sure it's really neccessary. The Z just loves it!! JohnK 83 Laps and faster than a Transit!
