  1. Can any one shine some light or give me any ideas on this, My fans suddenly stopped working and as I was fault finding on the cooling system I may have inadvertently spiked my ecu. I found a blown fuse on the power module behind the battery and have replaced that. I have replaced my fans. And water temperature sensor. I have no temperature indication on my dash now. it doesn't move. This did work before I spiked the ecu. I have 5v on one side of the sensor and on the other side for some reason I have 10v. I've checked continuity between the sensor and the ecu and that all fine. The car starts in 'safe mode' and I have plugged it into a friends diagnostic and it says there's a fault with the Maf sensor. So I have also replaced that and it's still the same. So this is what's making me think there's a problem with the ecu. Does any one have any suggestions? Can I just swap and ecu or are they all coded? Is it a big job/hassle? Thanks Steve
  2. Sill struggling, I've ordered new fans of Alex as mine were dud and I've replaced the temperature sensor but the temp gauge on my dash is still stuck on the bottom, has anybody had any thing similar to this or point me in the right direction? Cheers Steve
  3. Thanks, I was thinking that would be the next step, do you know which poles to run feeds to? I noticed its a 4 pole connector so just want to make sure I get it right. Thanks for your links, I'm sure you'll have an order off me by tomorrow afternoon!!! Steve
  4. Hi I'm wondering if anybody can help, My car overheated in the garage today. I looked into it and it appears the cooling fans aren't kicking in. The temperature gauge on the dash board was indicating high. I drove it home and the cold air feed was enough to keep the temperature normal. I've spent the rest of the afternoon looking into the issue but now I'm totally stumped. I've been doing a lot of searching, reading and testing but still lost! I've checked the two fan fuses mounted next to the battery, I've tested the 3 relays in the box next to the battery, tried shorting the temp sender to mimic high temp and kick the fans in, but still nothing. I've also tried the auto active test and no joy. Only thing I can think of is the fans as no good. Is there a way I can test the fan directly to prove? Also now the temp gauge on the dash isn't responding at all. Hopefully it's just something simple I'm missing! Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks, Steve

    Brake fluid

Hi guys dont know if any one remembers but a few weeks ago i posted some pics of my new Zed and told the story about how nissan have ruined my wheels with what i believe is brake fluid, but they say its brake cleaner. They told me they were going to refurb my wheels, so when i've took it back they've give them a bit of a clean and there looking not much better! My question is, does any one know if brake fluid or brake cleaner can damage the alloy them self not just the paint? and if they are to be repainted will the paint take to the wheels properly? The guy at nissan is trying to fob me off so it looks like a letter to the boss followed by a small claims court Hope some one can help, Cheers Steve PS: DONT EVER USE NISSAN IN MIDDLESBROUGH (THE ONE BY THE A66)!JUST SAY NO!
  10. I took it back and they've tried to used some stuff on it but its taken a load of the paint off, so it's going back down this afternoon and its getting the wheels re-furbished! Would have prefered it to never have happened but at least there admitting there at fault
