  1. Yeah but you've got no taste - you got rid of your Zed for a Lambo
  2. C'mon Nixy, tell me this doesnt have presence...... Z is still fun to drive though! R stands for Awesome!
  3. Clonking's still there - imo its either brake pads rattling, or lsd clonking. When it goe for its 6k service we'll have another go. Got a new one now though, sounds like the top of the offside rear strut moves under extreme stress....... btw - you can four wheel drift it without turning off VDC - especially if it rains!!
  4. Took mine to Nurburg this weekend - I think its fair to say it was noticed everywhere. Even people in French cars were taking photos as cruised the motorways........
  5. +4 - often think about him
  6. Bother! Would like to go but I'm at the 'Ring. Maybe next time......
  7. My son also had a similar problem. Turned out it was something growing in the washer reservoir, drifting out through the washer jets and being sucked in to the car. Finally tracked it down by taking off the washer filler cap and sniffing - pheurrrrrrr. Cured by a small amount of bleach (capful) and then topping up with water. All is sweet now!
  8. Firstly, a "stick-on" plate isnt a standard plate that is stuck-on to your vehicle. Its a flexible sticker like a bumper sticker.... Stick-on plates aren't legal in the UK. Thats why CraigsPlates produce them from their associated platemaker in the Republic of Ireland. Having said that, if the font, spacing and reflective background are to the required standard, and the sticker is mounted on a flat, unbroken and as near vertical as possible surface, then you could have a good discussion with a sympathetic officer of the law. But if he or she just wanted to do you for something irrespective, then I think you'd get the ticket. p.s. the stick-on wont have the platemakers address or the BS number on it, which are both technically legal requirements
  9. Sorry guys - list not been updated recently due to pre-occupation with other matters! Will endeavour to do so in the coming week - thanks for keeping on posting!
  10. ... and dont forget, outside the UK, e.g. the rest of Europe, these wheels have, for some time (?2006), been fitted as standard...
  11. I have £500 waiting for a set but no one wants it yet. I wont go above that because I know someone who bought a set for £250! Yes, all four! However people are paying more so must be more desperate than I am - or not as tight!
  12. Dont listen to them aqua! You keep it standard if you want to. Mine is and its still done over 100 laps of the ring....... Its the driver that counts!
  13. There's a good company in Witney. Called Dent-Tech (also Paint-Tech and Screen-Tech). They ddid the dents in my doors plus got rid a big concrete mark in the paint on the door. PM me if you'd like contact details. JohnK p.s. They also do work for lots of local car dealers including the big Mercedes dealership in Kidlington.....
  14. My clutch has done 76k (yes, 76k) miles, although the thrust bearing has a little moan on cold mornings. Earlier this year I booked it in to Marshalls to have it changed. They refused to do it, saying the bit point was still fine. They also refused to charge me for assessing even though they'd lent me a courtsey car for the day. I'd take it to another dealer and pursue the warranty thing before paying out for your own replacement (sorry traders!).
  15. I'll recommend FancyPlates too. Had several sets and excellent service. I also recently bought a stick-on plate (for show and high-speed trackday use only!) from CraigsPlates Irish division. It fitted nicely under my legal one Remember legal plates also have to have a "BSAU nnnn" number on them.
  16. This thread prompted me to go look for my emergency release (I've only had the car three and half years!). Found it underneath the rear strut! Whoopee...... Of course, of you have the Nissan approved Tonneau Cover accessory its on the boot side of the mounting so cant be reached from the saloon side, and the tonneau cover bolts are also on the boot side so nfu then
  17. I've got a spreadsheet with the service costs on - public knowledge as far as I know ......
  18. Where's this £100k figure come from? My servicing schedula for the first two years is less than £5k......
  19. I'm with Lulu. It is stupidly fast and I think its now a lottery how long I hold on to my licence. I'm trying to rein it in, but overtaking is sensational. Servicing costs? Who cares! Now 7:27.56 from a stock UK 2009 car and suzuki-san says more to come...... Lulu (and your Dad) - Enjoy!
  20. Really depends what he was looking at as you came in to view. I know from experience the next two weeks are gonna be hell.... Sorry!
  21. (CS asked for this so here you go!) - (maybe this should be called Fast Impressions!) Collected car from Marshalls at about 07:45, being second car out of the showroom (behind Paul_K). We then travelled in convoy to Newmarket for some breakfast. Split up after that as we had calls to make. I try to avoid motorways and was keeping ti the running in schedule so half-throttle and 3500rpm maximum was actually quite easy in Automatic. Off to Stevenage to seem my daughter-in-law and granddaughter, then to Welwyn and my son’s office. Quite a few people came out of the building and then we did a quick circuit of Welwyn and the A1(M). Apart from the numerous phone cameras most remarkable moment was two young lads in a Saxo who pulled over and then followed taking photos and video, even hanging on to catch the brake lights at roundabouts. Then off to Milton Keynes to visit Cindy’s daughter, and then home to South Oxfordshire with 200 miles on the clock. Set off early on Friday first to Andover (cos it’s a nice run), and first fill up. Then onto the A303 for Exeter. Stopped for tea at 300 miles and to move into the next part of running in, selecting comfort mode – and you can feel the difference. Traffic wasn’t good so arrived at my friends around 12:30. Then the three of us off to Newton Abbot for lunch. Cindy wasn’t keen on travelling in the back but Chris seemed okay on the return journey even though we came back the pretty way. Last part of the day was off to friends in Cullompton to stay overnight. Had managed a whole day not exceeding 3500rpm although the engine just feels all the time as though it wants to get on with it. This car is gonna be disturbingly quick to drive/ Saturday morning saw a quick ride round with our friends and then off to Plymouth to see the Hoe. Parked on the seafront and although we wandered up the road we could see the car getting lots of attention. One guy seemed to take about 15 to 20 photos…. Decided not to leave it there too long before it picked up a zip or handbag scratch so then off for a run to Kingsbridge, Slapton Sands, Dartmouth, Totnes and then to Exeter for shopping and our second tankfull. Finally back to Cullompton to stay and parked up with just over 600 miles on the clock! Sunday dawned a glorious day and now we’re allowed to use the revs in low gears. Headed for one of my favourite roads and started to stretch the engine going to Crediton and then on to Okehampton. Then nearly to Bude but turned north to Hartland Point for lunch and break. Then home the pretty way, Bideford, Barnstaple, Tiverton, Taunton, and across to the A303. Another tankfull at Andover and then home, parked up with just under 900 miles on the clock, Washed the car this morning (Thursday & Friday were rainy days) and found out more interesting things: - the front GT-R badge is gonna be a devil to keep clean. - it doesn’t have wiper blades – just huge, solid wiper rubbers - auto is excellent and even in manual it’ll change down if you brake to a stop - there doesn’t look to be much tread depth on the Dunlops even when new! I’m learning about changing down approaching a corner (even while braking (in a straight line Colin, honestly)) Fabulous car. I’ve been promised some pictures so will try and post later.
  22. Some time ago dealer scratched mine whilst fixing a rattle. They got in a local refurbisher and basically they re-sprayed the plastic/vinyl panels. Excellent job apart from the spray over on the external paint around the tailgate sides!
  23. Caution - there are still a lot of "HD Ready" TVs out there (even Panasonic). Dont buy one - you need "Full HD" with the fastest refresh rate you can get. Cheers!
  24. OU05 tend to be Nissan GB registered cars. #1 is off the road at the moment. I know of one other but dont know it's LE #. Both have Nismo body kits on......
  25. I know someone who bought a set of rims only for £250 - and that was before the credit crunch!
