rtbiscuit replied to jerry3167's topic in Off Topic Discussion
i tried uploading my old version of counterstrike it doesn't seem to like it, so i'll download the new source version. watch out lads i'm coming -
will be interesting to see what the different combinations of mods do to the final out put. it may surprise some people who thought they might get more/less than they do.

Steering wheel aluminium bits....Replaceable??
rtbiscuit replied to fatalus's topic in Car Detailing
you could get them from another steering wheel 2nd hand. but i should think they are orderable from nissan, but you'll prbably have to wait for them to be shipped from japan. and i don't know what they'll charge for the privilage. -

Broadband Suppliers - Sky vs Be vs O2
rtbiscuit replied to Rob_Quads's topic in Off Topic Discussion
O2 are good , but you'll need to check with them if your local exchange has been unbundled to get their top speeds. if you go to their website for internet you can put your postcode in and they will tell you what you can get. if the exchange isn't unbundled then you'll get there stnadard package (which is what i'm on) like a standard BT line but it has been good. -
when does the move start? its a shame we dont have an online refugee to go to. on the MR2ROC forum, we had a section for the americans when their site went down where they could keep posting and talking. it was only a thread for them but it meant they had somewhere to stop the withdrawal symptoms.

Steering wheel aluminium bits....Replaceable??
rtbiscuit replied to fatalus's topic in Car Detailing
its an extremely thing ally cover the majority of the material is ABS. have to take the wheel off to remove the units. mine have suffered as well, would be interested in carbon covers. as for polishing i wouldn't try it, its a brushed ally effect i think polishing will balls it up. -
if your going short ram, you might as well keep the JWT and get a new inlet pipe. i think envy do one or 2 and there might be a CF one being made as well by scotsoulboy The JWT is a very good kit and noise shouldn't be any diffierent to the AEM as all your chinging is the material of the pipe. still has the same type of filter and element.

Broadband Suppliers - Sky vs Be vs O2
rtbiscuit replied to Rob_Quads's topic in Off Topic Discussion
i use O2 and have to say they have been fantastic, good products are great but can be let down by customer services. i've found that O2's has been brilliant. they had everything to the house from order to delivery in 2 days. we had an issue with the first box and i had a new one within 24 hours. if you ring them with a problem your almost directly through and you speak to an english person. the service ahs been faultless the router that is supplied has been excellent, setup was a a piece of cake. couldn't be happier. as a comparision i have used orange broadband and that was rubbish, and setupa nightmare. and have seen my dad use BT i get an equal service with unlimited downloads and pay £10 less and he is limited to so many Gigs a month. i run 2 pc's wii, xbox 360 and 2 laptops and they all run fine. we're only on there local setup don't get mega performance as our area hasn't been unbundled but we are usually getting about 5-8 meg and regular download speeds of nearly 300kbps. once our area is unbundled it should be even faster. but it suits me down to the ground. have heard mixed reviews of sky and never heard of B Virgin are apparently only good if your on their fibre optics setup, and that just seems to be high density urban places at the moment. -
i stumped up and bought it in the end you'll find me on there as rtbiscuit oh by the way i'm not that good. would happily play a squad game if we got a team togehter.

**** um! we're better off with out the domains, especially as he's tried to close the market on them by buying up all the possible versions. the only people who would be interested in buying them would be this club. tell him he can keep them, its costing him money to sit on them now. so he's either got to keep forking out the cash or sell them to someone else. its only worth what some one is willing to pay, and i'm sorry but i don't think its worth anything like that. its not like he owns the rights to macdonalds.com website. then maybe he might have something worth bartering over. its a website for a car that a very small percentage of the population actually own. so he can stick it up his ar5e and the greedy thieveing c0ck weasel

lugs are a nice idea, but not something that rob is able to do with these, as for removal, yes they will come off with the same method as the OEM badge, but you would need to find a new adhesive tape to put on.
-
*************************************FITTING INSTRUCTIONS*************************************** PART 1 REMOVAL OF ORIGINAL BADGES the badges are held on with a double sided adhesive foam but does come off fairly easily, this is how i would remove them, its down to the owner to take responsibility for doing this don't come back on here and blame me as all modifications are done at owners risk. 1. using a hair dryer heat up the badge and the section of bodywork that its sat on, this will loosen the glue and make it easier to remove. 2. at the same time as heating up the badges you have 2 options for removal option 1 use a piece of fishing line like a saw, use a side to side motion to cut through the foam tape. option 2 use a flat head screwdriver with a cloth over it to gently prise the badge off. (if you use this method becareful not to scratch the paint work the cloth should stop this but just take care. 3. once the badge is off you will be left with a glue/foam residue i used a cloth and meths/lighter fluid to remove the foam residue. this will take a bit of time but it should remove it all. 4. i used a clay bar, polish and wax combo after this to fully prep the area before fitting the new badge. its up to you at this point to what you use or how much you do. 5. the car is now ready for fitting. PART 2 FITTING THE NEW BADGE 1. carefully peel off the wax paper backing 2. i used a knife to gently rest the badge on, i haven't pushed it on hard as i don't want it to permenantly stick to the knife. its more to be able to hover it in place to line it up to where you want. 3. with the badge on the knife you can now find the best location for your badge, make sure it is square, lined up and covers all the holes. 4. when your happy with the location press in place. take your time at this point as if you get it wrong you can't just peel it off and re do it. anyone who want to do some photos and add them to the guide are more than welcome hope this helps

although its only an RC car, its not running any major big kits on it. i would have the nismo kit on by the time i did it/if i did it. personally the car already has alot of power its not like its 1.2 corsa. i have another idea anyway, i do like this setup but it would cost a bit to do so its on the back burner for now. and rofl at the people who hadn't realise dit was an RC car.

thats a rea11y c1ever idea sunset, a we11 thought out p1an. you might find that some peop1e have a second hand one for sa1e so get one cheap that way. -
if option 1 is out because its boring might as well delete it now. and if you want option 2 because option 1 is boring i'm fairly certain that you'll get bored and end up doing option 3 further down the line because you'll want more sound. if thats the case you might as well go straight to option 3 and tune it and style it to how you like.

Water collecting on passenger sill when it rains
rtbiscuit replied to Mark-UK's topic in 350Z General
mine does it passenger side. only slightly though. -
for me i try and only modify parts as they need replacing, or if i'm going to keep the OEM parts for when i sell up so i can return to stock (did my exhaust earlier while it was still new), hence i haven't done the brakes yet, or tyres. personally i would go with option 3, it should mean trouble free motroing vrom that part for the rest of ownership as SS exhausts tend to last a very long time. but occassionally in life you go for cost effective. if your happy with the car and just want it fixed go with option 1.

changing forums is like changing cars, you have to get used to where all the buttons are. but after a while it becomes second nature. i always like the FTO forum, never had the car, but came close and spent time on there and found it very well laid out. this is one of my favourite forums really nice design and great people. but must admit it took me a while to adjust, but thats just life. one of the things i miss from other forums like MR2ROC is the garage. but like all things its probably one of those things that will come with time.
