  1. pushing the peadal with the battery dead won't do anyhting as the engine is drive by wire. no power means that it won't throttle. no trottle cable on thsi jap car. as for jump starting, you'll need a nice diesel unit they're great at jumping cars. run it for about 10 mine connected with about 2500 revs on, should give you enough charge to start. you'll need a 2nd person to sit in the starting car while you turn the zed over. i tend to drop the clutch at the same time. never tried this on the zed but it worked on my old mr2. couldn't jump it with my wifes 1.6 golf, but my 2.2 diesel would jump it every time, maybe get another zed owner round that would jump it.
  2. didn't know they did a hardwax, looks interesting, i use there wet wax part of the 3 stage detail set. always happy with the meguair finish. the car always feels like new glass for ages. finger always glides across like it hovers over the paint like a magnetic barrier. its so smooth i find that i'm stroking the paint while i drive in the nice weather
  3. Sorry, but I just don't believe that. +1. Are the google servers run by coal or something? no but they are powered by electricity, which is made by burning coal im not saying i agree with fact; as they say 50% of statistics are made up but the servers needed to power google must be pretty huge, we must be talking about rooms or servers, all air conditioned. they must be fuelling up a large electricity bill.
  4. agreed but the 3.5 litre engine is like your standard 1.8 fiat engine. money is a swaying factor so may well go silkolene. would mena i have some extrra to spend on SS brake lines That's what I'd be doing. The SS lines are complimented well by RBF600...... am i right i nthinking i'd need 1.5 litres of brake fluid?
  5. is this the petrol heads version of carbon offsetting

  7. opie have a really god price on at the moment for silkolene i think its about £38 instead of about £50. and i know lots of people use it and it comes well reccommended on here. for me royal purple is the unknown quantity and its american where as silkolene is japanese (i think) i kind of feel i should put jap oil in my rice burner
  8. are these as good as each other or do people think that one is better. or does it not matter. i am drawn towards the Royal purple as it is different and seems to get good reviews, but from what i've heard silkolene is the market leader when it comes to quality.
  9. if i'm changing brake fluid is that a good time to put Stainless steel brake lines in?
  10. thanks for this guys, just been trying to work out what to get. anyone have any reccomendations on brake fluid currently looking at motul 5.1
  11. i think there are concentrations of Zed, there are a few round ipswich but to be honest there are so few they are still rare. the Zed was never made in the same numbers as TTs or porsches. i see more of those than the Zed. and it still holds more road presence and people are always more interested in the Zed than the other 2.
  12. i think it looks like a SAAB, its bnot ugly, but i don't think its nice either. trying to keep the porshe looks is like putting megan foxes face on a fat bird.
  13. i need to pay for mine soon as well, just out of interest is there a dress code for this i don't mean shirt and tie affair. i know for track days they say to wear a long sleeved top and have a crash helmet. is this the same for an airfield day?
  14. for me i'd like to do it, but i think i'll wait for a while yet. but i do have a couple of questions. 1st is this menu update being done eventually on the the Sky+ boxes? 2nd is the humax box that was mentioned, if you no longer have to pay subscription does that mena you no longer get sky 1?
  15. if its of any interest there is a sunset orange roadster for sale near me its a 55 plate currently at £15000, but i'm sure there si room for negotiation. don't know the mileage. this is in suffolk just outside ipswich.
  16. what has been said above is exactly what i pointed out on the first page, explained the difference and everything i'm going back to sleep
  17. fair enough, but if your learning wouldn't you start off at lower revs and work up. we're all different and appraoch a problem/learning situation differently
  18. i never said i don't do it, i love a good traffic light grandprix but i know where to rev the car to without shredding the clutch. we all make mistakes we all learn from them.
  19. don't worry guys i don't tend to pay over the odds for insurance, i think there might be a hint of scotsman in me, must be my mums australian side, they all come from scotland origianlly.
  20. those bungs come out by the way and make the exhaust even louder.
  21. change the 5 for an "O" and get rid of the 3, then snap the bottom off the zed and have 007, make it a bond car
