  1. as good as $900 don't know if its better for you to ship from the US or from the UK think its about 900 quid in the uk.
  2. tannabe sounds great motordyne exhaust is good, think it makes good gains as well. Team Lizard have it fitted to his race car.
  3. a really good read; i really liked this quote "If you understeer off the road, you will generally see what you run into. If you oversteer you probably won't."
  4. Actually, there is slight misconception in terminology that needs to be cleared up. It is not that a certain amount of backpressure is needed for optimum performance. A well designed exhaust system should not only relieve backpressure, but go one step further and create a vacuum in the system. When the next cylinder's exhaust valve opens, the vacuum in the system pulls the exhaust out of the cylinder. This is what's termed "scavenging". It just easier to call it as needing a little backpressure than it is to explain a balanced airflow system to the average guy on the street. The physics of airflow dynamics dictate that the pipe should be only be big enough to handle a given volume of air or in this case exhaust gases. Whether it be an exhaust system or a A/C duct in your home first consideration is the proper tube diameter. Many people think "Bigger is Better", but this is not the case. The smallest diameter that will handle the airflow of a given volume of air at a given air velocity should be used. This small diameter will generate the velocity (air speed) needed to "Scavenge" or create a vacuum in the pipe. In the case of a internal combustion engine, if the pipe diameter is to small for the engine it will pull hard at low rpm's but at some point in the higher rpm's the tube will not be able to flow as much air as the engine is pumping out, and the engine will "clock out " early, not reaching its potential peak rpm. In this situation it would require going one size larger in tube diameter. This is why the general rule of thumb is that the maximum exhaust pipe for a normally aspirated multi valve engine operating under 8000rpm should only be .75 to 1 time the displacement of the engine in litres. This vacuum in the exhaust system also has a big effect on the intake side as well. Because the vacuum is pulling the exhaust out of the cylinder this creates a stronger vacuum pulse on the intake side that pulls a stronger air/ fuel charge into the cylinder. If the pipe diameter is to big the Air ( Exhaust) become lazy and wants the intake side to push it out so in the case of an engine the intake charge gets contaminated with exhaust gases. If the pipe is to big for an application this can also cause restriction in airflow because it is moving to slow and will actually start to back up in the pipe. This is an over simplified overview in airflow dynamics but you should get the general idea.
  5. really??? the tractor was donated for free by John Deere UK and the livery was paid for by the Farmwrs Union. rural crime has risen sharply since the economic slowdown has started. if it helps to get more people uisng DNA marking and cutting down on rural crime i'm all for it. especially as no UK police force money has been spent on it. they'll already have liason officers being paid to do stuff so no change for having to pay officers to do it either.
  6. if i was putting an exhaust on a zed and keeping a y pipe, i would be looking at the tannabe hyper medalion. its a gorgeous sounding exhaust; its not metally priced and it looks very nice.
  7. they've obviously come down in price a little as last time i looked they were 2nd cheapest after camskills.
  8. hope he's not been sat their for 18 months waiting for an answer
  9. i have spare bulbs as well you could have had for 20.00 original factory bulbs.
  10. where did you do your mechanical training? Nigeria?
  11. i fitted a new engine in my mr2 roadster, same engine as previous just a lower mileage version as the older engine lost compression on cylinder 1. and when i sold the car as soon as you said new engine people went as cold as a fish. was an absolute ballache to shift. engine swap especially isn't that much work compared to doing something like an LS1 or FI install if its stock for stock install. but when the difference between a 2005 276 and a 2007 313 is less than 1500 but you not only get the engine and gear box but the bi xenon headlights, LED rear lights, upgraded centre console and possibly lower miles all still on original parts. it makes it a better buy to upgrade the whole car. my guess is you'll be looking at the best part of 1500 for engine and gear box. you'd probalby get between 500-800 for your old kit that comes out. but if you factor in buying the other parts that make a 313 what it is. you'd need to spend another 1500 at least to get lights and interior. abbey may well know of a better supply of engines at more favourable rates. but i still say its better to buy the upgraded car than swapping the engine
  12. 276 to 313 isn't much of an upgrade; especially when you factor in the money involved. we're not talking 500.00 here. for a proper step up but staying in the zed family i'd be looking at the 370Z. depends on what budget is then i suppose. if thats too much of a step up financially, then personally i'd trade in and get a 313. you'll also get the upgraded interior and headlights then as well. your old car will be easier to sell with original engine than one thats had a swap. for some reason people won;t touch engine swapped cars. so you'll be reducing your selling market and probably the price at which you can shift it. (thats from experience) also means if you change you can have a new colour as well; no need for an expensive respray. yes you'll have to redo your roof, maybe sell the grille and swap over the wheels but i think it will be a nice change.
  13. can we get husky "fixed" ? on a more serious note- most solutions tend to go straight into the guide section thats where most solutions tend to be. but agree if you solve an issue, it would be nice to say so. might stop lots ofthe repeat questions that come up
  14. i suppose its because the Vice is a key tool in making explosive devices; have they banned them all across ireland??? its a shame moddershave to suffer as other People misuse a tool. You're getting into a deep puddle mate... I'm Swedish so I call my right to be neutral = no comment... Back under this Z! Love the diff work... yeah someone said it was p!ss easy... yeah right... don't worrry, i'm only pulling your leg; i don't think all irish people are terrorists i'm just amazed at how difficult it is to find a metal working VIce. i have loads at work, but thats no use to you. as for the Diff work, its never easy but look forward to seeing the finished results

  16. think husky has some as well
  17. i'm starting to realise why the titanic sank wasn't that built over in ireland?
  18. in most countries the dollar seems to speak a thousand words. especially if the local currency is crap
  19. yes it can be fitted with a stock exhaust, you might notice more noise; maybe use it as a stepping stone before you get a new exhausyt
  20. honestly whats wrong with a DIY shop???
  21. just says V8 supercars and its on til 6am, set it to record, not sure if i will watch or not
