  1. Tempted to see these at a car meet. I'm guessing it's an easy fit on a Cobra system, just remove the backbox and replace with these short tails? Car has HFC and sounds amazing with the Cobra system but not sure I wanna make it any louder. Anyone else in the same situation? HFC and Cobra system? Interested in deleting the backbox and using these short tails?
  2. How are these holding up for you? Tempted to give it a try myself, though I'll need to find some tools @V1H
  3. Surely there's a few more accounts out there? I'm hoping to get a bit of a following. . . Aren't we all eh?
  4. Hey, Sorry to hear about the hassle you're going through, I've had a few similar problems but didn't have to go back to my bank. When I was doing my research, I came across the following key points. 1. You are protected by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 2. Your credit card company must protect you via section 75 My advice is to let the seller know you'll be exercising your rights and that you paid for a road legal car aka something that is "fit for purpose", "of satisfactory quality" especially for the price, age and mileage of the car. This means it should have or be able to pass an MOT within days of buying it. If it isn't roadworthy, it isn't fit for sale unless they specifically mention that. Personally I'd reject the car and get a refund. The dealer won't be helpful in doing any decent repairs or work. Document everything! No matter how small, keep a log with names, timestamps, comments etc. Try and talk via email or text or whatever when you can. You'll need the evidence if the CC company ask for it or if the Citizens Advice/Trading Standards need to get involved. Don't be afraid to leave honest reviews on Autotrader, Google Maps, TrustPilot etc. Don't let them mess you about but also don't say or do anything silly. Check out the usual websites for help (Autotrader, Trading Standards, MineySavingExpert) https://www.moneyadviceservice.org.uk/en/articles/your-rights-if-something-is-wrong-with-your-car Keep us posted and hopefully it gets sorted ASAP.
  5. Swap decats to HFC or stock cats. Check for faulty gaskets on the exhaust manifold or in the exhaust system. Try a bottle of cataclean or redex and red line the car a little. Blow the @*!# out the system and get the catalytic convertor back to good condition. Take a nice long drive and stick in the lowest gear possible before heading into the MOT station.
  6. I'd happily drive down to Portsmouth for a meet!
  7. You didn't pick this up from Birmingham by any chance did you? @Scott370z
  8. @Silverthorn what's the mileage on your car? I'd be interested to hear a little more about these issues.
  9. I've been fortunate enough to get some of the marking away from the top layer with polish. Risky but worked on the top coat. I've got some discolouration deeper down on my spoiler and it's just the nature of the beast? Some people recommend wet sanding it down and even redoing the clear coat. Not sure how much sense that makes.
  10. Did anyone ever use this code and do a DIY job? I've been quoted 165 GBP to apply alloygators onto 4 alloys. Not sure it's worth that money. . .
  11. Would love to know who owns the car in the photos. Looks an absolute beauty.
  12. But where did the Sub go? I'm doing a copy and paste of this but not sure if I wanna put the sub where you have your tools. I'm sure you've got a sensible idea to share.
  13. I hope you've bought some Zociety decals back! Looking forward to seeing what you're gonna stock.
  14. So after my recent dramas with tax and insurance, I've decided to keep the car on the road and out the garage. Shall we retry organising this?
  15. Wonder if this idea ever took off? As reeceybeaney said, follow me and I'll follow back.
  16. Now just to time setting up my road tax DD! Silly me jumping the gun and cancelling it, don't wanna be hit twice
  17. So these are the terms and conditions of the policy. As mentioned above no explicit comment on road tax status so my worries are unnecessary. Got to admit its reassuring to see so many responses in such a short time. AD-003-019-Your-Cover-with-Admiral.pdf
  18. Hey all, Won't be able to upload a copy of Ts and Cs till I get home tonight. I haven't reached out to anyone who offers laid up insurance but overwhelming opinion is that its a car to enjoy and if I've paid so much already, why would I leave it on the driveway covered up? I'm young and I need to build up the NCB as well so enough of me worrying. I should enjoy the car while I still can! It's interesting to work out if insurance companies do check the tax status of a car.
  19. So I'm currently with Admiral on a multi car policy. I only have 1 year NCB (was on the tube for last few years so never needed a car) and I've had the policy for 3 months now. Admiral have said (over the phone albeit) that I would lose anything I'd gained towards my next year NCB. Quick Google says that Admiral are the worst for this type of stuff but I'm getting what I paid for so no massive gripes. My other half is the policy holder for the other car and she wants to build her NCB too, so no chance of me transferring to that car. Thinking it's probably best just keeping the Z parked up and paying tax and insurance, just in case we do need it and to build up the NCB. I can afford to do that but it's wasted hard earned money in the short term.
  20. All, What advice do fellow members have for insuring a car that's SORN. Spoke to my current insurance provider and according to their Ts and Cs they cancel any policy on a vehicle which is SORN. It'll save me in the region of 500 GBP for insurance and approx 50 GBP a month in road tax while its parked up over the winter. Do we have any recommended providers? Is it worth saving the pennies over the winter to plough back into the car before Japfest? Who has done something similar? Umster
  21. @Sim that's what I was expecting but in my very brief conversation with them on WhatsApp they seem a little busy. I'm not sure where your canards are atm. Reached out to Payco about his setup and he's due to send me a few photos so will probably go down that avenue.
  22. Spoke with them and they said they're not doing carbon copies and are booked out for the next month? Gutted.
  23. I've got one final weekend before I garage the car and save a few pennies for mods before Japfest. What we thinking? Can we squeeze something in?
