  1. I've got a fully stripped out boot and find that it messes up the weight distribution and handling. Really ? That's quite strange as usually the space saver isn't included in the curb weight so shouldn't have any negative effect. The few lbs of plastic 'could' off set the weight a little but not to the extent you would notice a determent to the handling, not unless your right on the limit, which on public roads you won't be.... I find the biggest influence to be fuel load, the sweet spot seems to be 1/2 tank. However, I expect there are slight variations to this from Coupe to Roadster too.
  2. Bloody hell, never heard one that bad before. Nice work
  3. Just fit space savers all round plus one in the boot and your good to go I just don't even bother carrying the space saver, dead weight to lug about. 100's of mobile tyre fitters out there now. Roadside puncture repair to get you by.
  4. Seen someone on youtube use Blue lock tight for this, they applied it to the splines though, im guessing it's not the best idea ?
  5. I'll go with naff tyres, mine was like a greasy eel till I go decent rubber all round. Now I have to be a total tool to get ESP or TC to kick in
  6. Just a small addition, maybe she should actually tell him how she feels and split on good terms. She is running the risk of him declaring bankruptcy/leaving the country then she will be liable for 100% of the debt. (sounds like he has lumped most of it on her anyway) Even with bad credit, there are lenders who will still give him money at a high rate, nothing to stop him doing a crazy loan and firing off. This is a minefield your in at the moment, damned if you do and damned if you don't. Just make sure you look after your own interests first, sounds selfish but don't let one failed relationship bugger yours.
  7. Drivers door has a little cap in the bottom, one screw then pops off Passenger side, pop off the aluminium strip in the middle of the grab handle. Behind there are 2 8mm bolts. Pull the handle off, needs a decent tug. Then just use a trim tool to pop the surround off. Switches just clip off with a small flat head screwdriver. Takes about 3 minutes per side.
  8. I'd say it's a nice car for the money (must add i've never seen the car in person so going on description and age etc), just factor in you 'may' need to replace the front discs and pads and a few sensors. With parts and labor you could be around £1000 depending what you use and if you can DIY it. The W brace, you can get one from Alex or one of the traders on here if you want new about £240 for new plus fitting. Or some just take them off ? Headlights, there are loads of guides to fix these so no real cost there just materials. A few sheets of wet and dry and some Lacquer £10 ish plus a couple of hours of your time. It's getting to the time in life for a good number of Z's now that they will need stuff done, just make sure you have the little slush fund for any repairs. Buy on condition, drive a few get a feel for the little quirks they have but if im honest buying from a member is usually the way to go as have been cared for. You won't get dealer piece of mind warranty though. Oh and don't waste your time with Warranty Wise etc they just worm out of everything.
  9. I had similar feelings in mine, until I fitted one of these from Moped http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/107048-blinged-custom-gear-knobs/ They suit the car to a T and the throw is far more positive. I'd say they weight is pretty much bang on where it needs to be. Additionally, when you do come to change it, you will need to remove the surround and the rubber boot under it. You must grip the shaft they are on tight ! don't just try and twist off or you could damage the box. I had to use 2 pairs of grips to get mine off, destroying the Golfball one in the process.
  10. That will take some serious will power, all the boost and can't let loose... Good Luck on your quest bold soldier !
  11. Nah, totally worth it Last 2 days have been superb. Top down, tunes up and hit the B roads. Got my new tyres scrubbed in nice now

  13. Hi all, Is it possible to remove just the door from the center cubby, or do you need to take out the whole water fall ? I want to wrap the lid but it just won't be right doing it while on. Ta
  14. ^ +1 on that method for recessed badges. Take your time, heat slowly and evenly and be in no rush to get the badge off. Better to take 3 times longer and damage nothing.
  15. Quick update: MOT sailed through, no advisories. After a few days of the RS3's wow, these things grip for days not had chance to push them in the wet yet but the dry grip is incredible compared to the worn out old ditch finders. Can't wait for these to be fully scrubbed up and at their optimum.
  16. Waxoyl ! Fill it with the stuff, your local body shop will have a gun for it no doubt, just buy a can of it and pop down spray it in from every orifice If they don't have the gun, it's about £20 for the gun and about £15 for the can of waxoyl It dries tacky so the chips will stick to it and get rid of the rattle, plus it will stop/slow any onset of rust too
  17. Nice video, some stunning cars on display too.
  18. As I said, this is how the porthole looks in light smoke https://ibb.co/iUwhfk Not 'perfect' but it will do for now. Needs a new roof skin.
  19. So.... Seeing as no one asked, any chance I can have your old one ? Like a charitable donation to my i'd love a Porsche fund ? That GTS though, lovely car !
  20. Ah the wait is ok, the rest of the idea is requiring input from China too
  21. Cheers, why they hell did that one not show when I looked on there ? Saw some for £11 There was even a set in gloss black with the front and rear Z burgers for £248 ?!?!?!? Mods: Feel free to lock and or delete as applicable.
