  1. might be a guy on a track day. It may even be a guy with twin turbo or engine swap. It could be a test driver comparing the old to a new car like the supra. It may also be a cynical marketing ploy to get people talking about a 10 year old forgotten car
  2. any opinions on the ND MX5? Especially the newer 184 hp ones
  3. If its lighter and more nimble it will give it a better more real feeling. Also the lower displacement engine would probably be louder in stock form being older
  4. In regards to sound Audi are already doing artificial Sci Fi vehicle sound in their hybrid/electric SUV and its quite loud. I hear one whiz past the office everyday. Its like a mix of Tron Bike and USS Enterprise.
  5. I can see why a GT 370 would be the test development car. Since Nissan usually release the Nismo a couple of years in. I still feel the Nismo should be the development car. The Q60 engine did have a 300 hp version. That could be an option for a more toned down lighter Z. But the twin turbo VR30DDTT would always be the better option. Just dont expect anything above 21 Miles per gallon if theres no hybrid tech mated to it. At least youll get 360 ft/lbs of Torque. Which 90 ft/lbs more than the current Nismo at 270 ft/lbs. Obviously you cant compare to the 440 ft/lbs of Torque from the average remapped single turbo v6 diesel In regards to styling, they have a lot of time to do something sleek and more in tune with the 350Z. I think any styling should be headed that way with a touch of Nismo. Since more people were fans of the 350Z. Im sure the designers would want it to have cues from the new Juke. The only thing id take exterior wise are the slim LED headlights and more potent Rear tail LED lights I guess 2020 is a no go. Tokyo Motorshow didnt happen. So might be waiting 2 years before you hear a yes or a no
  6. Without Scottish type incentives I see the uptake being very linear slow and steady. I still believe taxes will be imposed on EV at some point once the number of ICE vehicle sales diminish or VED takes a hit
  7. Bold statement to say all. There are many that wont touch electric. When will it be affordable for the layman... Definitely not within 10 years.
  8. Civics are popular. 7 years and only issue i had was with the EP2 brake caliper ceasing on 170,000 miler. The FN shape was mainly the harsh ride. I didnt like the styling on the FK. I actually wanted the 2.2 diesel. Never got round to getting a Type R.
  9. The 3 Liter Q60 engine would need revision. It was mated to a manual gearbox for the orange SEMA car. Looks like it needed a lot of parts. I think if Nissan bother they should work to create a car smaller than the 370Z as the 370Z is quite bulky size wise and maybe get the weight down Weight down to 1400kg and a twin turbo 399hp with a revised engine would be good. Any hybrid tech etc would drive costs up. A dct auto development would cost money too. Maybe get a 7G/9G auto gearbox from Mercedes instead? Either way look at the new A45 S. £49,000. Thats where the price will be if you start getting a development list together.
  10. We didnt need Nissan to test a 3 liter V6 from a Q60. Thats already been done by Z1 and another indie. What they need to do is bring a new design unless they are planning to just engine swap the current model. Apparently they are comparing their old 10 years platform to a current car (supra) to show how far theyve fallen. How about a new design before throwing in a twin turbo V6. Besides the Supra is around 375bhp with a DCT. Someones already converting one to a manual on Youtube
  11. Manual R8 must be a nice drive, like a Manual Diablo. Okay not the same but still
  12. Manual R8 must be a nice drive, like a Manual Diablo. Okay not the same but still
  13. my brother bought a Supra recently for £20k. Cant wait for it to be out of the garage and on the road when weather improves.
  14. welcome to the forum. Get your son to sign up here too. Good cars. Yes the boxster and cayman will always be the lighter, sportier cars. The 350Z is a true Grand Tourer. I guess that crossover of sports GT is important to have. Useable everyday and not too hardcore. Good to have a common interest for sure!
  15. Its not a rumour. Alfonso Albaisa is the Vice President of Design for Nissan Global. Hes not allowed to confirm or deny. But what he says holds some value as in the Z hasnt been forgotten and they are seeking replacements. Just about which media outlet he spoke to originally and if it can be verified. They usually conduct interviews at the shows anyway
  16. They are already with Daimler which owns Mercedes. The new Juke takes cues from Mercedes
  17. The Tokyo Motorshow is about to start and all they got are two silly Cube concepts. They had 2 years to prepare something but nothing. Still another week but I doubt anything will happen. The GTR wont be replaced for another 2 years. As its still selling. They chief engineer even went on to say 2023..... The Zed mehh, Just go buy something else or get a Z4 lol Alfonso Albaisa said a new Z is being worked on more than a year ago. Electrification is a terrible idea. I rather drive a petrol hybrid than a full electric sports car. They shouldn't bother with that. Infact I rather they dumped a 4 pot DCT than electric. Alfonso Albaisa post some infiniti stuff on Instagram usually around concepts but has never posted any Z related stuff lol He claims theyll never abandon the Z line. But 10 years going 11 is slightly beyond their usual timeline... Seems like they cant decide which way to go.
  18. Yep get on the trains lose revenue from VED then get hit somewhere else, apart from the annual raise in train fare
  19. your old Nismo is now with junction 17
  20. Its not meant to be interesting or exciting. Nothing about EVs are unless youre a tech savvy individual or mad scientist
  21. I dont think any are discontinued, but v6 unless you can go for a v8.
  22. The audio when speaking is really low
