    Oil cap

Any Nissan one will fit they are pretty standard so some of the Ebay ones branded as hks etc are easier to undo and only cost about £6 for a blingy alloy one
  3. Its red though not purple ? Maybe its only the engine oil thats purple
  4. Best of luck I wish you well. Had some experience with the NHS of late and my thoughts are its basically f**ked. But for emergencies like this its still pretty good
  5. I agree somewhat we bought a brand new Freelander back in 99 , the car was dire, the worst I ever had , in the first 1100 miles the brake pedal fell off - no brakes, the fuel gauge stopped working , the boot filled with water, the brake lights failed amongst other things , over the next 3 years it didn't get any better , I was glad to get shot of it and vowed I would never buy another I could also add horror stories about Nissan, Mercedes VW and Audi based on previous experience but how long do you hold a grudge, dealerships change hands , brands alter , I used to find Skoda excellent , I've bought 4 of them but there arent as good as they used to be But I have never had the attention I got when buying a 4 year old used car from Jaguar , they really went the extra mile and the customer service so far has been excellent, the buying experience has been the best I ever had How many dealers do this for a used car ? Never had this on a new one not even paying £40k for a new Mercedes , they couldnt have cared less didnt even put any fuel in it
  6. Our kitchen is in the middle of the house with no direct door to the outside... Looks amazing and £250k sounds cheap for that much house... Not so much when you read this: "Unique 6 bedroom Grade II Listed house with outbuildings in need of full refurbishment, enjoying a large corner plot and an imposing turret". If it weren't listed my guess that fiqure would be lot higher - with the plot value not being constrained by the Grade II listing. I have no idea what property prices are in that area. And for an estate agent to use the phrase "full refurbishment" and given any remedial work/changes are subject to spearte listed building consent and you are at the behest of the local Conservation Officer and English Heritage indicates that you would need extremely deep pockets, before you did any of your own decorative work. Needs eye wide open and specialist advice, I would respectfully suggest, so you know exactly what you would be letting yourself in for. Several decades working in that field taught me that you have to have very wide open before taking on a project like that. I only had to read Lincoln, LN3 lol
  7. All on here https://h-dev.co.uk/our-services/servicing-and-maintenance/350z-servicing/?v=79cba1185463 Its P1, P2, P1, P3
  8. When we bought our house we discovered that the solicitors we used had had a falling out with the solicitor the vendor used and would only communicate by formal letter , no emails, no phone calls . Took weeks and weeks, neither of us were in a chain and we had the funds in place , in the end I phoned the vendor directly and told him to get his solicitor to pull his finger out or I would withdraw from the sale , once the solicitors could see their fees disappearing it was amazing how fast things could move, it was sorted within days

  10. No was actually a 383ci but they look the same , the previous owner did the 440 bit , when I bought it it did around 16mpg but then I put a 750 Holley on it and it dropped to about 12 lol Ah okay, still a nice lump I think you made a typo, its 12SPG... Smiles per gallon ( over used I know but so true ) Must have sounded mean! We should start a 350z/American club, Go buy some muscle and join me and AliveBoy hahaha 3 man band Or at a yank show Keep it with the rough/unfinished theme, nickname it "Black & Blue" like a bruise sorta thing... be awesome I'll still with my 5.0l Supercharged V8 , very little US made stuff interests me enough to buy nowadays
  11. No was actually a 383ci but they look the same , the previous owner did the 440 bit , when I bought it it did around 16mpg but then I put a 750 Holley on it and it dropped to about 12 lol
  12. The HKS ones are ok but I'd rather have a K&N or Cosworth style as there is a risk that as they age the HKS ones "moult" pieces of foam The risk of oiling your maf is down to the K&N's being over oiled , either from the factory which is rare or after cleaning by the owner, I have ran them for many years without any issus on lots of cars, but the last set of new ones I bought were overoiled from the factory and needed a wipe down The paper ones perform just the same as K&N's but need frequent replacing wheras you can just clean the K&N The only real difference in performance for the 350HR and the 370 is the Stillen "style" gen 3 type filters which has pipework that extends the filters in front of the radiator, even with those fitted you will be looking at around 3-5% increase and doubtful feel any difference but like the cosworth and k&n you get a little more induction roar
  13. Mobil Jet Oil II seems to be what the merc guys use or a general motors part number 12345982. Emailed vortech but not hopeful of a helpful response as they will just want you to buy their oil I'd think Yeah you wont get any help from them The Merc stuff is pretty close, I spoke to a few places when I had mine and they suggested it , there is no way Vortech make it it must be branded and rebottled
  14. Very very nice , love the shape of those and the colour , a mate of mine drag races a 67 Camaro I started off with Yank metal, owned this for a while
  15. To be fair when my 350z started to blow at the rear flange where they all go , i really liked the sound of it :)
  16. The Mercedes Kompressor oil is a very similar spec and should be fine for flushing through
  17. Once a battery has dropped to 11.2v a few times its goosed , time for a new one anyhow. I suspect the dashcam wiring or other accessory may be at fault
  18. The 231hp ones arent more of a rival , the economy on these can be a little scary , a friend of mine averaged about 20mpg out of his , there are horror stories and the engines do wear but buying from a trader should alleviate most of those fears , fantastic handling cars though and the engines are a peach when running well
  19. I cant hear anything on that If you think its detonating take it to a rolling road , they should be able to tell you if its det or something else Why not give these guys a call and see if they can help http://www.map-tech.co.uk/rolling-road.htm
  20. Bear in mind that they will all retain the resale value though, 10K dropped on a Zed doesnt make it worth 10K more ........... I looked into this before I parted with my Zed, I felt that a V8 conversion was a better route to take, not least that its further scaleable when you get used to the power. And the noise. I was awfully close to fitting a LS engine to my old R33 Skyline , makes a lot of sense , its quite a popular route for zeds in the US and as you say the noise
  21. Surely if the ride height has never been set properly then it's about getting all 4 wheels to have even contact with the ground I'm no expert Just the way I saw cornerweighting Kind of like adjusting a tripod Yes you can adjust ride height but as i said that only goes so far, often you need to physically move weight around so moving items like the battery or other things to ensure that the weight is as equal as possible
  22. To be fair any garage is capable of doing basic servicing on the 350z its very easy to work on
  23. Evo's were/are largely driven by knuckle draggers , Clarkson summed it up
  24. We went a few years back and my son is going with his school next month . We did Empire state , Central park, the Natural history museum yes that museum. FAO Schwarz toy store where "Big" was filmed although I think its moved , there is a great ice cream parlour there. The Twin towers site is miss-able to be honest, wish we had done Ellis island though , there is a lot of do so you do need to plan Grand Central station is worth a visit its a fab building if you like architecture
